I am creating this post as a last goodbye to my now defunct gamer tag "Coldplayer07." Off and online, u were like a much uglier version of the companion cube. U were what gave my games meaning, a will to live, alas. Lest 2 months ago u were blasting away over Xbox live, slowly but surly working your way through the skill lvl’s of Halo 3 to someday reach that ultimate awesomeness that we call "Lieutenant Grade 3" ...but it wasn't to be. Now your dead, and mother can finally clear out your room to use as rent.
So, I hear little billy ask, how did it come to tomatoes for poor old Coldplayer07. Well im glad u asked li'll billy Johnson, I’m glad u asked. It all went crumble Pie for Coldplayer back in January when he got back from Melbourne. Broke though he was, with a slew of new 360 games in his position, not even the notion of having to go back to work the next day could dampen the spirits. It was all red bull and jam rolls until…. a few days later, the vultures came, stalking, looking for their next meal. But for them no meal would come, with still no funds in my pocket, and a general hassle of having to disconnect from the net to get on Live, i shrugged off to the fact that i would not be able to pay the funds for this month’s connection to Live. The vultures would have to wait. I cared not. I would still play my games even without the ability to play online, for now.
Then somehow over the weeks. With the notion of having to disconnect half my cords, drag them across the hall, wait 15 minus every time i wanted to connect to "Live" or sometimes connect not at all. I left the spoils go, of an updated gamer score, weekly game demos and auto updates alone, for quite some time.
Then it happened. That sometime turned into a second month. The vultures returned and without knowing until quite sometime later, the hand of Microsoft (guess i was broke again) went unfed, yet again. When i did finally connect back up. I tried to re-establish my account so i could play on Live, but i kept getting Credit card not Valid. With funds in my bank, and a no go with my credit card, all i could think of was that, maybe this has something to do with me messing around with my network connection settings on the xbox a few weeks back, trying (and to this day) unsuccessfully connecting to Live using the wireless connector. So, I rang support, and was greeted with a "friendly" (shutters.) Indian voice over the phone. I gave him my datails, and he put me on hold.... no more then 5 minutes later, (did he just put me on hold and take another call?) I got the bad news smack in the face. My account was cancelled. Turns out, it's not as simple as Live putting your account on hold until the almighty returns, After two months of unsuccessful payments, u get your account Cancelled. And this is what he told me. "U need to use another credit card sir, plus a new Net passport (e-mail) and create a New Gamertag." So that was it then, who the hell has a second credit card... I farted in the guys face, ...over the phone. then ate rat poison.
The Next day, after realising a had eaten the dogs food by mistake, i rang Live again. Got one of u Americans on the line, nice guy. Told him what had happened,. and he put me on hold, "rat!" came back, he said he would give me the address for Live billing, and i could actually reactivate my account by adding a month's payment’s to the account through my credit card details through the site. Exactly what i couldn't do on through my 360. Well long story short, it didn't work. After waiting a day for it to take affect, nothing happened. Every time i logged into my Gamertag on the 360 it logged me straight out. If i had so much as the ethernet cable plugged into my 360, it wouldn't let me sign into my Gamertag if it could detect a net connection.
Well i rang support again, explained everything that had happened, was put on hold once again, then got told that, i had 60 days, to retrieve my account, from time of cancellation before my account would be permanently un-saveable. Why no-one ever told me this before, i don't know. That would have been great if i had a second credit card i could use, be it my own or family’s. But that wasn't the case. So now im stuck, hopelessly stuck for a way out. In the end, that was it, defeat. All my had work, down the drain. From racking up my small basket of gamer points, to all the effort i had put into my Halo 3 profile, gone. damin't! Id finished 3 games while i thought my Live experience was on hold. Just time wasted. I couldn't even get on live anymore, even if i made a new Gamertag. My one and only credit card, which was tied with my Coldplayer07 account was now invalid.... Not much more to say.
Yet, there is, some light at the end of the tunnel, even if i cannot get my Gamertag back. After ringing Live support for the forth and final time, I asked the guy, that since I didn’t have a second credit card, would they just blow up my account with all my details as if i had never been on Live before, so i could just create a new account from scratch with my same credit card details and Net Passport. He put me on hold, came back, he said no.... "argh!" ...But, what he did do for me was, create it, so that in a months time, when my account clocks over and is no longer in fact, alive and in the system, I can use my same card details again, minus the tag name, and once again get on live.
So even though it's goodbye forever to "Coldplayer07". I have now only to wait a month, March 24. Till it's super party time once again, and i play, "Just, ok," ; ) at halo3 online. Your memory will live forever in the half dozen, Saved films, Screenshots and heat maps, devoted to u in your honour. Farwell my sweet prince I’ll see you one day in that big Halo in the sky...
