Hey, first time on forum, just wondering about Video cards and ifyouguys have a comment on it, I was thinking about the 256MB Radeon X800 XT.

No. Halo PC is extremely demanding becuase it's coding and shaders suck. It's what you need to play games now on full antialiasing and full anisotropic filtering.

Make sure you get the right one. You need to figure out whether your slot is AGP or PCI-express.

I have that card and it rocks!

Yes it's fine - You can run Halo on max settings with a 9600XT. And don't tell me you can't because that's exactly what I've done on friend's computers. My 9800XT runs every game I have on full settings, 4X AA and AF, inc. HL2, FarCry, Warhammer 40K etc.

I'm not saying it's a bad choice I'm just saying it's wrong to tell people you NEED that card. Most people can't afford it, and they'd be very disappointed to think their 9600 was a terrible card. It's not, it's a great card, be proud of it. A 9800pro is slightly better though if you want a budget card, that or a 6800GT, 'cept they're nVidia therefore suck with DirectX games.

Heyyo,

Well, Nvidia focuses on OpenGL games, while ATI focuses on DirectX games, most games are DirectX only, so most of the time it's better to use ATI, Nvidia can only beat them by brute force most of the time, ATI tends to do it by better graphics processing.
