go to ati's site and get the catalyst software suite in the driver section. It has a menu called 'overdrive' - it oc's your card for you.

You've given him false hope there, the 9200 is a bad card no matter how much you o/c it. It's not DirectX 9 compatable, which means games will Never look as good as they do with the more expensive cards. Cheap cards = cheaper performance, o/c-ing the 9200 will still look bad, just a bit faster and smoother framerate. "You can't polish a turd".

Hey, I didn't give him 'false hope'. He asked for a way to overclock his card - I gave him what I know. I know that catalyst will overclock an ATI card if you select overdrive.

Where did I give him false hope???

Catalyst software is here, just select the options in the boxes which apply to you

Does over clocking a video card damage the card in any way. Also, how does it "over clock" it? Does it force more information through it or something??

Well, if you overclock it a lot or overheat the card, then yes, you damage it. Many warranties are void if you oc a card (how would they know, tho???).

In a manner of speaking, yes, overclocking forces a video card to work beyond what it's specs tell it to do. Think of it like this: Intel relases the p4 3.2 GHz, then several months later the 3.4, then 3.6, etc. It may simply be the same chip, just with different specs on the box. Companies sometime sell a new product at low specs, and then raise them on the box - but really it's the same.

So I guess, yes, partly, oc'ing forces more info through. I am not a total expert, but that's generally what I've understodd from what I've read and experienced.
