Subject: Why Did You Join Bnet?

Кланяються мені!

Just a bit of curiosity, I haven't seen any sort of similar thread before...but then again my memory isn't what you would call "good"...

Anyways, what was the incentive that got you to join this wonderful community.

Me? I was a "Halo 2 Boomer" I didn't get into the Halo series until late 2004. I had no interwebs back then so I knew nothing of Bnet. finally in 2005 I got broadband internet. I had enjoyed Halo Lans so much that I decided to get an Xbox live subscription soely because I loved halo 2. The same day I registered here on Bnet to check things, and I loved the stuff I could do, especially the stats pages.

I was a terrible noob when I first came. My very first post was in Optimatch. There was 2 xbox live forums back then and I had no idea what to post in. Unfortunately for me, Optimatch was a spam haven, and there was a 0 tolerance effect. So naturally, not knowing that I was "off topic" My very first thread was locked and I was blacklisted for a week :(. (by ninja on fire now known as Jeremiah {sp}) I read the rules and the stickies afterwards and have never been a spam whore since. Though my first time here was a bit rough, I enjoy this place. Eventually I came to settle here. I usually lurk in the forum instead of posting often. I seldom make topics.

Now you don't have to include a story like me I just want to know why you joined so many Years/months/weeks/days/hours/minutes/seconds/generations/mil linias/ ago.

I have been a member of Bungie.net since around Halo CE, but that was on my old account before I decided to change my account name, which meant creating a new account. So technically I should be around a mythic member, but I don't know the details of my old account so I pretty much lost all of the years that could have added up to my mythic status =(

I joined Bnet to look at my H2 stats (though, for some reason it says I didn't register until May 2007.. huh..).

I stayed here because the community here is awesome.

So I think Jun's a master chef, because he takes off his helmet and your like whoa, I think he's a chef.

So to shorten this up, Jun is master chef.

Registered a few days after I finally got XBL to work for Halo 2 on my 360 so that I could check stats, etc. I didn't know about the forums, but I did eventually, got hooked, and here I am today.

It's also kind of weird that cortana 5 registered a day before me.

I first came here when I was looking into this new XBL compatible game I had heard of called Halo 2. Lurked on the forums so see if I could get some more details, I was mostly interested in how it would work online. I guess most of my questions got answered because I never created an account, hell I didnt even create one after that I had bought the xbox, halo 2 and the subscription for xbl.
For some reason I waited until 1/21/2005 and Im not really sure why I created an account then, guess I had something to post/ask. In hindsight it would have looked cooler if I had created an account when I first was looking into this site but I´m not the type that just signs up everywhere and I think that goes for a lot of people here.

Join? What makes you think I'd join a crap-hole like this? No, I was forced to become a member. Much like how I am forced to write this idiotic post.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

I joined so that I could sign in.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I needed to keep my trunk from popping open when carting large objects. So I googled, clicked, and became trapped here.PLEASE SOMEONE FEED MY CAT!

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

World peace.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I first joined back in '05. My original account was m3rokit, I joined mainly because I wanted the Seventh Column by my name. When I started to post I seen topics that interested me; got involved with helping machinima's and just kept posting. Started to love the community more and more, and decided to stay. To be honest, I am glad I did stay.

From the ashes

Halo is why I joined. I didn't have XBL at the time but I thought it would be cool to join the makers of Halo's site, glad I did too.

Edit: Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I joined mid '06 first account was Blademaster321.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

I joined for the free, bountiful supply of gorgeous, friendly women. When I found out that it was all a lie, I decided to stay out of spite.

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

I read in a magazine that you could track your stats and all so I checked it out. It was either a magazine or one of those pro-tips that the game gives you while going on matchmaking. Either way it was to see my stats.

"If you have nothing to say, don't say it."

ಠ _ ಠ

I came here back in September 2006 as a way to repel boredom. Finding that I wasn't interested at the time, I abandoned my account and forgot about it.

Then, when I got XBL, I had some questions and discovered that I still had this profile. I stayed in the Halo 2 forum, occasionally looking at people's signatures and eventually joining a group named Legacy after seeing it in someone's sig. I became an active member and even got a slight promotion. Then came the dreaded New Hawtness and knocked out the groups for a long time.

Coming back to Legacy after that, I discovered that no one else was present. One of the two admins simply left and forgot about Legacy (though he's still playing Halo 3 and has a B.net profile); the other was a [some would put an expletive here] who refused to give full control to anyone, even to the numerous restoration efforts by some of the most loyal members.

When I was about to give up on Legacy, I was recruited to Seventh Column Troopers by Hunter501, one of the co-founders of Legacy who had mounted the best (yet still unsuccessful) restoration effort. Prospering in Seventh Column Troopers, I eventually got full control along with several other individuals.

Since then, I've become a mod in Spartans Alliance, and have founded my own group, Ivory Tower.
