Subject: Pointless w/update?

"It is not even a real day today. It's the 29th of February, which ostensibly is a false day 75% of the years since the calendar was invited by the Teamsters invented the Gregorian calendar in 1952. Because of this I tried to convince Frank that we didn't need to do a Weekly Update, but he just said that meant he didn't have to draw Mister Chief."

So he didn't end up drawing a mister chief in the end anyway... The questions were mostly answered in a smart-alec fashion that told us absolutely nothing...

Is there really a point to your weekly updates anymore? It's a cop-out every time. Maybe you shoud just change it to "weekly blog" Because there are no updates on ANYTHING in your weekly updates, they just tell us all how you did in your latest challenge or they just avoid everything that we want to know. It's obvious you don't want to reveal your 'secrets' so why even try? Why not just leave us in the dark instead of leading us in frustratingly long circles...

Please stop releasing weekly updates that don't actually update us about anything.

Just remember they don't even need to have a "weekly update" at all. they could have just sold you the game then said "Thanks for the cash!" then gone jet setting around the place.

I'll admit that the most recent update was kinda pointless, though the discussion around the bumper jumper layout was interesting as an insight into how Bungie work.

However if you think the questions answered were crap don't have a go at Bungie have a go at the community. Instead of bloody stupid question about pointless things about the BR spread which isn't broken and other such topics they'd have to answer actually interesting questions.

If you are just complaining over the fact its called weekly "update" when it doesn't update you then thats being a bit pedantic in my opinion :P

The way I see it is sometimes weekly update is interesting and informative, sometimes it isn't. Usually it's more interesting and informative then it is useless.

No I just want to be updated. I don't want to know about their last humpday (they already have a dedicated update about those), I don't want to know all about a control scheme. I just want to be updated about the actually happenings surrounding the new maps, future updates and the like.

Some of the questions were stupid, but why did bungie answer them if they are stupid? Why bother? because they seemed to want to match that silliness with their answers. No they might not have intentionally set out to do so, but that's how it seemed.

Why answer stupid questions? Can't blame the community for asking stupid questions (there will always be some) when bungie answers them, because if they hadn't answered them then you wouldn't know how stupid some of the questions were...

As I said, I'd rather skip a few updates then have fillers that don't have any good content.

July 15, 2008... The day the timer stood still.

Bungie is in between games right now. Obviously they can't talk about their next project, and there's not much they can talk about in Halo 3. There's new maps coming out, but they're probably not ready to talk about all of them. Overall, there's not much they can update us on anyways.

Hello.

If you don't like them, don't read them.

People will complain about anything. I remember, there was a time where Bungie would miss a few weeks and people would complain all over the forums. That was back when people called it the "What's Weakly Update" as a form of bashing - people were more clever back then.

What if I like reading about the control scheme and a recap of their last humpday? What if others like it, too? Why shouldn't they post it? Certainly not because some overzealous Bungie.net member who has his panties in a wad doesn't want them to. Bungie interacts with their fan base more than any other game developer I know. Many people here, like that. As the old saying goes, "you can please everyone some of the time or some people all the time, but you can’t please everyone all the time". I guess it holds true here on B.net.

tl;dr - cry more
