For this post, since some people said stuff was slowing down a bit, i want everyone to post some sort of teory u have on some part of halo. no newbs allowed, so keep ur mouths shut so we dont have to listen to the garbage that spill forth from them. i dont wanna hear any more stupid stuff like "the sniper is a newbish weapon"(seriously, that was just sad). i'll start things off with my extravagant theory on what halo 2 live gaming could be like.

In reviewig what people typically look at in live halo 2, most people are simply thinking that u can finally get on a ctf with a bunch of friends and duke it out. i, however, have had a few different ideas that are really quite interesting and as far as i kno of, completely original. Several hints lead me to a first possibility. the fact the bungie mentioned sumthing about elites vs spartans in multiplayer and live, this could be a lot different than waht people were expecting. we've seen the screenshots now, and we kno that it is going to be red vs blue, spartans only, in the usual multiplayer battles. but bungie also hined at a multiplayer experience that would be unlike any other. has anyone considered what exactly the story of halo 2 must include. th flood. the monitor. the assault on the covenant homeworld, which was in fact the mission for the spartans since their deployment from reach just before the beginning or the game. particularly this last bit, about the covie homeworld. couple that with the mentioning (in the books) of Mendez disappearing to train the next group of spartans, and the fact that other spartans survived reach, things start to fall together. the incredibly different and unexpected multiplayer mode:a huge co-op experience. think about it, everything fits it. some people can take over as the elites, others as the various spartans that would have to be there. or rather, perhaps it is more straight forward than that. no one but the computer controls the elites. humans control the spartans. but if u look into it, even for the master chief, an assault on the covie homeworld is utter suicide. theres no way u could win. or at least no way u could win alone. but perhaps, if u had a team of fully operational and free-thinking(human controled) spartans on ur side, then u could make it thru. to beat the covenant, u'd need an army. and they might deliver this to us on live. a massive, or at least 16 player co-op thru the normal campaign levels or specially designed ones for live. it would be glorious. and if u really think about it, what with the surviving spartans, the invasion, hints at a second wave of spartans, it all fits. there would be enough spartans to go around. if u didnt have the people to play or the live connection, then the other spartans could still be effectively controlled by computer. it would be a simple process of transfering control from the conputer to human to make it a definingly incredible gametype. of course the levels would be incredibly difficult, it would have to be to make it nessessary to send in 16 spartans, but it would be worth it. they could take out the auto spawn feature to make it more challenging, put humans in control of the opposing forces, or not. it would be incredible. and quite frankly, it could also be perfectly possible. several official hints fit the mold, and while my theory may not be perfect, i may have hit on sumthing here. and if it isnt included in halo 2, then i think we can all agree that it would be really interesting to see it in some future bungie game.

contact me for more theories, for i am the halo theologian. i live for this -blam!-...

I don't think so, and Halo 2 dosen't have to include the invasion of the covenant home world.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those who know binary, and those who don't.

since halo 2 is the last episode of halo, and the original mission of the spartans is to invade the covie homeworld, kidnap a prophet, and negotiate a peace, yes an invasion or at least an insertion is entirely nessessary. and its gotta be in halo 2. and do u honestly think that it wouldnt be fun? how could u not enjoy that? seriously.

by the way u didnt put up a theory of your own.

just putting this back on top. anyone else want to respond?(not just vote, post your own theories too!) also heres another theory that i put on another thread, which stole my idea, basically, for this thread. anyway, it had to do with the similarity between humans and forerunner and perhaps if they were related and then if so y would the covies kill us. here it is.
forerunner could have given birth to the humans. the covenant know that the forerunner were the ultimate race. they created their own technology, they were adaptive. covenant just take technology of other races for their own. they salvage the forerunner technology. humans, however, are also adaptive. they make their own techs. the prophets, or whatever really runs the covenant religion, and thus the covenant, saw this and thus knew that eventually the human would overtake the covenant. and so, knowing that the humans were th edescendants of the beings that they worshipped, the decided to hunt the humans to extinction. the humans, at the time, were technologically inferior, and so the covies could win. but if they waited too long, the covies would be surpassed and possibly enslaved by the humans. thay had to attack now or lose the war before it even happened. the prophets would of course keep the secret to themselves, that they were basically attacking their own gods to ensure their survival. think about it. why else would they let other races like grunts and jackals join the covenant group but have to eliminate all traces of the humans. this also incorporates the covies not using human equipment, because they hate it. in fact, the prophets persuaded the rest to hate it(in accordance with this theory) so that none of them would see the similarity between the human and ancient forerunner technology, thus connecting the two races. this also moves in accordance with the master chiefand his spartans having extraordinary luck in guessing covenant and forerunner symbols and controls and such in the books, they seem somehow familiar, as if they should know them, because they are originally human, or rather, evolved human, or forerunner, ita ll the same. now go back to my post thread.

I dont know if its so much a theorie but more of a hope for a future game. I would love to see a game kinda like Pulp Fiction where it shows all the missions MC and the other spartans took part in where u get to play as MC. Like no story as such but like a briefing of whats happened. something like a rebel faction has taken the stronghold or someone has mutaneed or something like that. Then the mission begins with u getting dropd in on a pelican or something like that. Like his history of operations. forgive me if the book contradicts this idea but i havent read them.

No1 ever said that Halo 2 is the last halo episode, i've even read that microsoft wants a halo 3, and if you read the halo 2 faq, they say very clearly that some missions wil take place on a covie planet
