i was in your situation and i always find out new tactics that work...like when you are fighting some one jump in the air alot if at close range. this makes them miss alot of shots. but i play every level on legendary (untill i beat it) and i will invite over my freinds and play split screene play and see if i am doing better (i am the best at halo were i live, but there is a dark side to being good... my freinds barely play me anymore because they cant get 5 frags...lol)

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

Practice on legendary, play lots of multiplayer games, practice with all of the weapons in the game, and eat, sleep, and breath Halo just like I do. You'll be set.

The big name tourneys usually have an entry fee, but some small local tourneys might not. The bigger ones do because they usually offer large prizes/winnings.

Me and and 3 friends play for an hour every weekday before school, and a LAN game or two at the weekend. Just keep practicing

i don't know if there are any colleges/universities in your area, but it's my experience that there's always a game going on in the student life/resource buildings. even in the libraries. and if you can get into a dorm that's networked, make friends with someone there and never leave.

A LAN is when you connect 2 or more Xbox's with a crossover or a hub.

Check out the 7th column, you can search your area for clubs/clans and contact them directly to see where and when they play.

A Local Area Netwok game can be set up any where, I normally host them at my house and invite 7 or so friends over to play Halo for 3 hours (yes I do have Friends)

3 hours, thats it? wow, I played a CTF game that lasted for 2 hours once. The teams were very even.

We don't play ctf games. We have learned that any Halo game with a flag and more than 8 players will never end.

Yeah it will..me and my friends turn those into iron man endurance games. last team with a man awake wins, no resistance to run in and grab that good old flag.

I once played a team-slayer (fifty kills, over LAN) that lasted nearly two hours, needless to say that the teams were very even. It was one of the best matches I ever played. I came out on top with the most kills, nevertheless my team lost :(

lol, uh no but it was on sidewinder and it was a two on two (large map + four players = long match)... we spent a lot of time searching eachother, actually... anyhow, it was like nine in the morning and we all had a hangover, so it was just plain good fun.
