The only thing that would completely eliminate your idea about how it's gonna be is by reading any FAQ; they always say that the MC will only be able to carry two weapons at a time. Now, I really do understand what you're saying, and it does make a lot of sense. The E3 video backs up your claim.

Bring the Noise, it ain't so bad. Think of it this way, and you can count on this being one of the factors in making dual-wielding 'noncheap': When you have a 'two-handed weapon' like the new BR and a plasma pistol, for example, you can't dual wield. Now, this is the payoff for having a stronger weapon. But when you have two 'one-handed weapons', you can now dual-wield, this isn't a bad idea at all, and this in itself will be part of their plan to 'bring balance' to things.

I'm sure all of these questions will be answered at E3, but another way to find support for my side is by looking at any screenshot released; the 'cave' screenshot showed two 'one-handed' weapons being used. In any other screenshot, you'll see SPARTAN's carrying BR's. This might not exactly prove my point, but it goes along with it.

Think of having a 'two-handed weapon' and a 'one-handed' one as being the same as the original Halo, and that it only becomes a dual-wield opportunity when you have two 'one-handed' ones.

LoL, that is because you can't see the gun not being used =/ How does that help your side at all? It doesn't. I'm quite sure you are wrong.

I also never read anything about it in the FAQ so I don't know where you get this idea.

Pick a FAQ, any FAQ. When asked if Halo 2 will let MC carry more than two weapons, it will clearly state 'no'. This is one of the most 'untouchable' characteristics about Halo 2, only being able to carry two weapons: why would they change it?

You could try some research you know, it'd save you time

Here is one, although it isn't the most reliable...question number 17

I've also read, in any magazine talking about Halo 2, that this is true; one in particular is the EGM with Halo 2 on the cover back in 2002 when it said that, although the MC will have new tools, he will still be able to only hold two weapons at a time

But again, we'll see

running should be started with the up button on the d pad and grenades shifted with the down button. o, and i also really and trull hate the idea of leaning whatsoever around corners, i feel like that s just for kids afraid to get there a$$es handed to them in multiplayer................. but i may be wrong
but i may be right... or wrong
either way it will slow down the game

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

He can shoot 2 weapons at one time as long as each weapon only takes one hand to hold. Master Chief can also hold 2 different guns at the same time under the same circumstances.

This is from the FAQ pointed out above. This does not give evidence to either side. I interpret when he says under the same circumstances that he means as long as the weapon takes only one hand to hold.

If it didn't come from bungie then it isn't credible. The FAQ on this site says nothing of the sort. You should know better than to believe projected features that come from somebody else. Bungie would not have shown us carrying three weapons in a in-game demo, if we weren't going to be able to do that in the game.

I should know better? You should know better to stop bringing it up after I've said 'we'll see' for the third time

Halo let you have two weapons, and they won't be changing it for Halo 2; I feel like I'm alone in thinking this...

First of all you as well keep bringing it up, and yes you should know better. Apparently you don't. So because it was that way in the first means it will be that way in the second? By that logic there would be no reason to make a new game. You are alone because it's the most foolish comment by a non-noob on the site so far. Everybody else uses common sense.

Right, I think you have been fairly accurate. I think there is a possibility, or at least scope for bungie to make the control scheme much more complicated. In fact they could well release two schemes, one for beginners and one for advanced gamers. Bare with me, I'll make this brief.

For beginners:

Face buttons stay the same, except that you would be able to tap and press the button at different rates with different strength to achieve combos.

The Y button could be used to enable lean in combination with left and right on the left thumbstick.

A and X stay broadly the same. Black and white would be used to swap weapons on each hand. Hold them down to swap back, press them to swap forward.

EG: left hold plasma genade right holds pistol
inventory has frag grenades and an AR.

by pressing white you swap first to frag genades, and then to the AR. By pressing Black you first swap to the AR and then to the frag grenade. If you see what I mean.

The sticks would stay the same.

The D-pad would be used to enable view modes left and right, and possibly do inventory and stuff with up and down. Back button could be used for stuff like a map or mission logs.

ADVANCED USERS:

clicking left thumb stick enables lean/crouch. moving left and right causes you to lean, forward and backwards makes you move. By moving the thumbstick fully left or right it makes you crouch walk in that direction.

pressing Y and one of the triggers you swap the weapon in that hand much like the example above. By holding X down on a gun and using one of the triggers you would be able to swap with either weapon in your hand, or if you swap with an 'empty' hand you swap with the gun in your inventory.

That way you free up a lot of buttons to do other things like view modes and other things.

I'm not really going to get into that. I think you will agree that this method is FAR more complex, but very playable with a bit of pratice. This way, you have something simple for beginners who just want to play the best game every** and you have something hard core for gamers who want maximum power from the controlls and are willing to put in a little time to learn.

But just because it's complex, doesn't mean that it can't eventually be learned. The game is a challenge afterall...
