They didn't tell us what it was it could have been anything. Frankie gets scared easy incase you didn't know.

-BH-

Been here 6 years, been blacklisted 6 times, that's why I'm not Mythic.

The Project *began* in 2491. Then there's research, development, then you have to raise the bloody kids for fifteen odd years to create your Spartan Super Soldiers. The dates sounds about right.

You can't just whip up super soldiers over night, there's bionic implants to design and test, then there was the genetic experiments. That alone is going to take many many years. About 10 years of development say plus about 15 years of genetic augmentation on your five year old children abducted into the program sounds about right to get the Soldiers out by 2517.

Draerden is right because when john starts with important missions he is 32 which is the age he is saying with he training

The Spartan II's were STARTED in 2517 which means they were abducted then. So what happened from 2491 to 2517? Well...errr...the Spartan I tests of course! Think about it, they tested out the training for all those years to see what they could get, liked the results and the next time they had th earmor and the augmentations ready for the Real Spartans. The Spartan I's in 2491 were a test to see if the training for 15 years would actually help them out in there real quest.

I say Sergeant Johnson was a spartan because HE JUST WON'T DIE. No matter how many times he dies, he just keeps coming back. He's back in Halo 2 after miraculously surviving the explosion of Halo....

Sergeant Johnson's presence in Halo 2 is explained by First Strike, the third Halo book.

The Spartan i's are those of ancient Greece. Giving them the Spartan II title was sort of an honor to those long since gone soldiers.

Um...the Spartans were a race of Greeks living back then, not a type of soldier. The Spartan "civilization" had a large war with the Athenians of the same era. Sparta was just a City-State of ancient Greece. I think that the first Spartans were like the test platform. They were designed for urban combat and such. For riot control maybe. They worked, but I'm sure there were a lot of them, so it wasn't worth noting how many or not going into much detail on them. Perhaps the ODSTs are a spinoff of that program, maybe the same technology went into them, just not the upgrades that helped make the SPARTAN II's. In another side note, has anyone stopped to think that maybe Master Chief doesn't want to be a SPARTAN? I think Jhon got screwed...
