During the in-gameplay of halo2's multiplayer they showed a new feature add to the rocket launcher where you can lock on to a moving target and the rocket homes in. Personally i dont like it it takes way some of the skills involved with timing the right tmoment to shoot the target. But it may be fun to see your enemy try to out run a rocket.

Remember it only works on vehicles and you don't have to use that feature.

That's going to make rocket hogging noobs bigger noobs. I don't like this feature. You should only be able to use it on vehicles or make there a toggle for it so you can switch it off.

Ignore these four words.

It probily will take away some of the skill required, but it will be really fun to see a ghost tring to boost away from a rocket.

I think it will make escaping from rockets more fun.

I think it will be good if it only has limited homing, like the needler but even more limited.

I believe that is the way it is and you can only use the homing if you are zoomed in. Homing will only work at longer ranges where it was hard to hit the targets anyway. Just imagine smacking a banshee with a rocket from halfway across the map.

No it should not be optional. It is a part of the weapon and whould always be on.

it makes the Rocket Launcher more of a anti-VEHICLE weapon. In Halo PC it was near impossible to kill anyone in a ghost or banshee with a rocket this new feature levels out the playing field.

Hopefully it only works on vehicles. You need something to shoot down flying enemies. If a team gets both banshees then it's really hard to get things turned around. The tracking will equal out the odds a little.

I ABSOLUTLY HATE THIS FEATURE...

some of you may be in the same boat as me, and have the annoying little friend who is new to halo who always always ALWAYS abuses the damn rocket launcher (which my friends and I have come to call the Newb Stick). Warren (Newbstick abuser) has gotten fairly good at the game and STILL ABUSES THE NEWBSTICK! I am not looking forward to halo 2 giving him another reason to hunt me down and newb my ass...

I liked it were it required more skill to kill someone with the rocket launcher (even if it only works when the opponent is in the vehicle) although it looks like the following feature is quite weak. I also hope that they make a the sniper more like the one in the computer, were you actually have to "guide" your shot to were the enemy is going to go.

I am sure Halo 2 will have an option to chose exactly which weapon you want in the game. Just leave the Rocket Launcher out. Why do guys have so much trouble with people using it. Don't go near them, kill them from further away.

Yes, the only newbs are the ones who run towards the rocket launcher man. You can easily anihilate the rocket abuser with any medium-long range weapon. Also, it does ONLY work on vehicles, so don't worry.

I don't really care for homing rockets. Its one of the most deadly weapons in Halo 1! If you know how to use it, you don't need the homing ability. Anyways thats my opinion.

And how are you supposed to dodge one of those suckers???? :^D

I like it. You seen that he still missed in some instances even with the homing feature. I trust bungie to do a good job at balancing it out.

Now the question is, do you know when to use the new homing feature and when you want to fire it straight without guidance. If one doesn't know that difference then of course he or she is going to complain.

I though the term or any variations of the term newb were punishible by death on this forum? anyway yes the rocket only tracks vehicles and it looks less powerful with less splash damage forcing you to relie more on direct shots

I think you press a different button when you want the homing ability.

^ i guess to dodge it you're gonna have to drive/fly as fast as you can and hope to god you can get behind something to save you. i dunno, this feature could be cheap, or it could be a good idea. it all depends on how bungie implements it.
