Does anyone know where the shape of the halo sword comes from? Is it just imaginairy or derived from something? Reason I ask is that I just found the exact same shape on some statues/pillars in Lost Odyssey, might be a coincidence though.

It's been said Bungie isn't the most original. You may have just found evidence for the claim,

Well the same goes for the Lost Odyssey´s crew then since thats a brand new game. I just found it odd that the exact same shape shows up in another game, well exact same except for the handle. So I started to think that it might be some old symbol of some kind but I have no idea of where to look for such so I guess it will remain an enigma.

Huh, a newer game... I wouldn't know. I'm still playing Halo 2, and the only other games I have are Halo: Combat Evolved, KoTOR, the original Driver for PC, Real War: Rogue States, and Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2. I don't dig the new games, and I stick to the old classics. Like my muscle car.

Probably an enigma, like the word dervish being the name for the Arbiter... it's a very fitting name... until you play as the Arbiter, at which point the cinematics don't make him much of the dervish nature anymore.
