I am currently having a display problem on my laptop since I've installed Linux RedHat (Shrike). I have an ext3 partition set up for my Linux operating system, but my primary is still Windows XP. When I dual boot, and then go into Linux, the standard checklist comes up( [ OK ] ), but one it tries to initialize the Linux GUI, the screen messes up (it turns into a purple double helix-type thing). If I attach an external monitor, everything works perfect. Since I am new to Linux, I was wondering if someone could help me out. My laptop is the Toshiba M30-YSJ (from Canada), but I think that the display is the same as the American M-30 and M35 series. The lappy also has a GeForce FX 5200. Please ask family members and friends if they might know! It will help me out very much :) . Thanks for any thoughts,

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.
