Default. Why would somebody call me -blam!- for that, it just seems to work better for me.

I think my thumbs are weird, my left thumb prefers inverted controls, while my right is default...
is anyone else like this?

Hey, I'm new here on these forums, and just to clear up backgrounds, I started off in the Halo universe playing Halo PC, beat it on legendary, and have recently purchased an xbox with, of course, Halo.

Now that that's out of the way, I'm left-handed and getting used to the xbox controls was a bit tedious. At first I tried the southpaw movement and triggers. The triggers were fine, but I kept having problems hitting the jump button or melee-attacking. So I eventually went back to default movement and found that the southpaw triggers and inverted aiming thumbstick with level 10 sensitivity was just right for me. :)

It's funny, actually. I was playing through the campaign, constantly changing my controls. On Truth and Reconciliation, "Getting used to my controls." On Two Betrayals, "Still getting used to my controls." After watching the credits once again, "I've almost got it." Then after playing through it again, I got my controls just how I wanted them.

There's nothing wrong with using default or inverted controls. It's just the player's preference.

Either way is a good way to play. A lot of it comes down to the way you have programmed your video gaming mind. I play inverted because in your flight simulation games the stick is inverted on the plane and like on a video camera, if you pull down on a stick, the lens goes up. And Vice versa.

I guess the blood baths over accidentaly selecting someone elses profile and being doomed to attack your enemies by looking strait up or down are only related to my lan parties, but you can really screw someone by making them pick the wrong character.

it depends from where youve played shooting games before, for instance if youve played timesplitters 2 you would be used to inverted, i know i was, but now adays default is the one i use because its .... the default!

I use Inverted Started with timesplitters and just got used to it. I can't use default to save my life.

Default for me. Seems simpler. though I use inverted as well, just to get better with both.

I like many others play inverted, due to days spent playing Flight Simulators as a young person. My buddies think its wierd, but niether default or inverted would help me own my buddies that much more. Until someone proves that it improves your ability to play will I force myself to use anything other than Inverted, Sensitivity 3, Default Buttons.

I think it doesn't really matter, I've learned that I can get used to both very quickly and be just as effective at the game. I personally use default at the moment, but I imagine that will change as it has in the past.

You have to admit, most people get screwed up at the beginning--just long enough for you to take advantage of them--if you canged their character on your box to default(or inverted) without them knowing.

i dont see y you would be inverted its so silly and stupid i mean you move the joystick up and you look down. the only exception to this is flying in a banshee where inverted is meant to be
