Exalted is considered "the highest" because you can't get any bans or warnings of any kind for quite a long time, which is harder than just being a member for a long time.

Awesome - I noticed the DLC changes.. but everything else looks exciting!

what do u mean map exploits on construct, pit, epitaph, if this means under the ramp on pit, ok!

but some places thaty you can stack jump to or nade jump to are what makes halo maps fun, dont fix every little spot in the level,

one of my favorite parts is exploring the levels and trying to find little hiding spots

To all the people asking if we will do more cool weekend hoppers or stating that you love a specific gametype I will say this:

Vote with your gameplay. Want more DoubleXP weekends? Take part in them and we'll know right away that we should do more. That is all it takes.

As always, we'll take a good hard look at people's play habits when deciding how to proceed with the next set of updates.

And of course, thanks for all the feedback :)

DoubleXP weekend? This sounds strangely familiar to the Double Honor Weekends for the Battlegrounds in World of Warcraft... For those of you who know what I mean... AV WEEKEND FTW.

COVENANT WRIT OF UNION, CANTO I
So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path
-High Council of ConcordanceFirst Age of Reconciliation

this playlist looks awesome just one question though
why can't you keep team SWAT on forever?
it was like the sweetest playlist ever in HALO 2

Awesome news Bungie. This is probably the best update since launch, except for the DLC maps. Glad you are listening to the community. Now, if you can make a custom search feature, that would make many people's days!
I like the rules of Halo Ball more than GriffBall but hopefully the change you made makes it more similar.

What map exploits did you guys fix exactly?
ones like these.
speaking of which tho, i saw that the map exploits on Valhalla, Narrows, Guardian, and Isolation weren't fixed and wondering if they were going to be fixed too.

It's just a game folks.

I have not posted anything on here in quite some time but I must say something regarding the planned 3-day Team SWAT marathon. I think Bungie is, by far, some of the most ignorant and arrogant people I have ever encountered in my life thus far. Team SWAT, which was the second most popular playlist in Halo 2 and is probably the most requested playlist for Halo 3, is only now coming to Halo 3. Almost 6 months after the release of their horribly flawed and sad attempt at a concluding saga, Bungie decides to include a playlist that was incredibly popular on Halo 2. Not only that, but it has been the most requested playlist thus far. But wait, not only has it taken 6 months, but now its only going to be around for 3 days. Sounds logical, right? Yeah.... not really.

So Bungie, do you guys/gals actually listen to anything people want or do you get some sick and twisted enjoyment out of watching people beg for things that should be a no brainer at this point? To you, these "no brainers" are "temporary" for whatever reason floats through your diluted minds. This is why I rarely play this game anymore and it is why Halo 3 is losing more and more people to Call of Duty 4 every week. It is because not only is the game flawed in so many ways from Halo 2, but you can't even give the gamers a playlist that they enjoying playing other than Team Slayer. I mean, really....get over yourselves already.

It was a novelty the first time you pulled some nonsense like this in Halo 2 when you yanked Team SWAT because it was considered a "temporary playlist." So, it is still considered temporary even when it is second only to Team Slayer in popularity? Interesting logic you got there. Sounds a lot like something my 12 year old nephew would come up with. Oh, and lets not forget when the last map pack came out for H2. For two weeks, you had thousands of customers that had paid for a product but yet, they were unable to use it in matchmaking. Again, well done with that. That was very well thought out.

Clearly, the pattern for irrational thought and behavior is the M.O. of Bungie so I suppose I should expect nothing less when it comes to Halo 3.

Bungie Monkey 1: "I have an idea. Lets offer Team SWAT, one of the most popular and requested playlists for Halo 3, but we'll only let the community play it for three days."

Bungie Monkey 2: " Thats a great idea. I mean, we can pretty much do whatever we want since we made the game so lets see how much more we can frustrate these players before they all migrate to COD4 and the soon to be released RB6V2."

Bungie Monkey 1: "Hell yeah! High Five!"

Imbeciles.

I will say this: You are extremely lucky that you have a devoted following of many gamers under the age of 16 that do not quite understand the kind of crap you're pulling right in front of their naive eyes. It is sad really, when you think about it. All these kids have no idea how badly they are being treated. Yet, everyday they come crawling back to the Bungie Forums and to Halo 3 because they hang on your every word, no matter how ridiculous it may seem.

My hope is that Halo 3 falls into oblivion before summer approaches. Maybe after thousands of gamers stop paying for your map packs will some sense get mashed into those thick heads of yours. Maybe after thousands of gamers start to realize just how viciously manipulative your tactics are will you submit to humility. Maybe when games like The Force Unleashed, RB6V2, and Too Human leave Halo 3 with nothing more than a whisper of its former glory will you amend your devious ways of thinking. Maybe then you'll actually listen and think before you act.

But, really... who am I kidding, right? I mean, you're Bungie. Millions upon millions of people bought a POS game called Halo 3 and actually thought it would live up to Halo 2. How wrong we were....... how wrong we were. So, why would you change your insipid behavior now? I suppose you wouldn't, which is probably why Halo 3 is as bad as it is. Yes, you sold 150 million dollars worth of Halo 3 at its launch. Congrats. The question here is how many of those people are still playing it? Probably not as many as there should be if the game was up to par and if its developers were mature enough to listen/act with reason.

In honesty, If I was given a logical reason as to why Team SWAT as been left out of the playlist this long, I may have a change of heart. If I was given a logical explanation as to why it is only available for 3 days, I suppose view Bungie is less critical light. If I was given a sound elucidation regarding Halo 3's overall reason for existing as it does, I may "turn the other cheek" as the saying goes. However, I highly doubt given the way you've managed to destroy the credibility of Halo3 are you even capable of any type of coherent reasoning. So I'll spare you the headache and just let bygones be bygones.

By all means, please lock this post out because again, I would expect nothing less given your dictator-esque means of approaching a competent post. Why would you want your child-laden fanbase to become livid regarding the way you approach every situation? I guess you wouldn't like that very much, now would you? I suppose not.

And to think, I once thought Bungie was a congregation of some of the most intelligent and forward-thinking individuals in the industry. I will be the first to admit that I was naive in thinking so. I hope others do the same.

Excellent update. I'm curious about one thing. It says a more even leveling system. Does that mean we don't have to go through the ridiculous amount of win streaks just to gain a level? This seems to happen a lot once you hit 45. On Feb 20-21st I went 37-1 in slayer and didn;t go up. I know it's insane. I guess my teams "Sigma" was horrible.

I believe they meant that you would be ranked more closely with your opponents, that's my guess, not sure though.

... great job on the wall of text when only a paragraph was sufficient for your rant. I stopped reading about 3 paragraphs to the end, because it was the same thing over and over again; you smashing bungie. You make it sound like we are being neglected or abused (in real life of course). I for one, don't even enjoy Team SWAT that much. I'm aware that others certainly do, but you don't need to come here and type this insensibly long post about how everyone playing Halo 3 should migrate to some other popular FPS just because they haven't implemented the Team SWAT playlist as a permanent playlist. I don't mean to start a flame war with you. It's just that we need to remember that this is a video game we are all playing. I'm not sure what you are so mad over other than bungie not listening to you and many other's begging for a certain playlist. I myself have been hoping for a team snipers play list, but I'll wait patiently until they decide it is time to add it. I would have been very excited about the griffball playlist as it is one of my favorite games to fool around on, but as I've already stated my account has been ended. I hope I didn't anger you too much by my reply, bored28. It's just I felt it was a little uncalled for. Just my opinion. I know that we all probably have a different one.

(I know this should have probably been a pm, but I thought everyone else should see this post as well. Bored28, if you would like to respond, just give me a pm. Hopefully there's no hard feelings.)

Anyways, back on topic everyone, and great update Bungie. One of the best so far!

It's just a game folks.

No hard feelings, but to my response:

In fact, the post was very sarcastic in nature, in case you did not pick up on that. So there is a reality other than real life? Do tell, since you found it necessary to make that reference.

In what has become tradition here at the Bungie forums, let me correct your seemingly inaccurate interpretation of my post. Not once did I suggest that others should "migrate to some other popular FPS." If you actually read the post, you would have understood that the said reference was in regards to the current tendencies of gamers. Is it not true that more people are playing COD4 than Halo 3 right now? If you answered no, then you need to do some research before we continue....

If you answered yes, then let me continue. You asked why I was "mad." Well, I'm not. Emotional connections to gaming are sad forms of fanboyism and I do not take part in such childish behavior. My post is meant to elicit the real reasons as to why Bungie insistently continues to tell people what they want instead of listening to what people want. You say that you do not care for Team SWAT. That is fine. However, you are in the minority. There is a poll in the optimatch forum that shows over 90% of the community disagrees with you.

Now, if you don't see something wrong with Bungie's logic behind their decision making process, then that is something you cannot control. Being blissfully unaware of the obvious tends to be a common occurrence around these parts but please, don't take that as a personal insult. It is not meant to be.

You see, I was once a large fan of Bungie and their products. However, their string of illogical decisions has forced me away from a series I used to enjoy playing and that is why I decided to chime in this one last time. If you are happy to exist as a pawn in their game, then so be it. I only hope that there are others out there who are tired of capitulating to their ignorance.

You will not see another response from me since I rarely visit these forums and I've already become weary of its substance. I only hope that my "rant" as you called it, does not fall on deaf ears as it seems to have with you.

Cheers and good day.

While the concept is good and shows that the guys at bungie actually care about our needs, it seems like you guys are teasing us.

Grifball and SWAT are perhaps two of the most wanted playlists ever in the Halo 3 Community. having them as Weekend only playlists for a limited amount of time was a disappointment. If you guys actually are going to implement them into Weekend Playlists, the Weekend Playlists should be normal playlists, available during the weekends at anytime during the year.

I hope you will be using the Weekend Playlists to test out the Gametypes and make Grifball and Team SWAT their own playlists by the end of March.

On a lighter note, some people are going to be happy since they can play SWAT for 3 days. And, I'm gonna get my Replacement 360 only on the 10th, so I'm gonna miss the Grifball hopper. That sucks.

I would appreciate if a Bungie member respond to my post. I don't mean anything rude. I am a hardcore Bungie Fan and Halo 3 is a great game. Just voicing out thoughts.

Subject: March Playlist Update. BUT!!

Bungie acting "annoyingly" secrative is good in a couple of ways:

1) It will probably end up making them more money. Hence, better future games and game updates.

2) Suprises are awesome. Just be patient and play some Halo.

3) Telling us what they think is going to happen a month in advance and then changing their minds three times about what is accually going to occur over that course of time because of all the testing and bug-fixing they did and flaws they found would also be stupidly annoying. It's better that they just speculate the truth rather then tell a truth that turns into a lie in a few weeks.

ps: PLEASE Fix the fact that I am a -blam!-ing General and still havent received the "Graduate" Achievment Bungie! Been waiting for quite some time for this to be resolved. (With a little flatery comes a little complaining as well.)

and to bored28: Although I may disagree with some of what you said, I respect your opinion; just like I respect everybody else's in this forum. Internet -blam!- talking is just dumb.
