I have not posted anything on here in quite some time but I must say something regarding the planned 3-day Team SWAT marathon. I think Bungie is, by far, some of the most ignorant and arrogant people I have ever encountered in my life thus far. Team SWAT, which was the second most popular playlist in Halo 2 and is probably the most requested playlist for Halo 3, is only now coming to Halo 3. Almost 6 months after the release of their horribly flawed and sad attempt at a concluding saga, Bungie decides to include a playlist that was incredibly popular on Halo 2. Not only that, but it has been the most requested playlist thus far. But wait, not only has it taken 6 months, but now its only going to be around for 3 days. Sounds logical, right? Yeah.... not really.
So Bungie, do you guys/gals actually listen to anything people want or do you get some sick and twisted enjoyment out of watching people beg for things that should be a no brainer at this point? To you, these "no brainers" are "temporary" for whatever reason floats through your diluted minds. This is why I rarely play this game anymore and it is why Halo 3 is losing more and more people to Call of Duty 4 every week. It is because not only is the game flawed in so many ways from Halo 2, but you can't even give the gamers a playlist that they enjoying playing other than Team Slayer. I mean, really....get over yourselves already.
It was a novelty the first time you pulled some nonsense like this in Halo 2 when you yanked Team SWAT because it was considered a "temporary playlist." So, it is still considered temporary even when it is second only to Team Slayer in popularity? Interesting logic you got there. Sounds a lot like something my 12 year old nephew would come up with. Oh, and lets not forget when the last map pack came out for H2. For two weeks, you had thousands of customers that had paid for a product but yet, they were unable to use it in matchmaking. Again, well done with that. That was very well thought out.
Clearly, the pattern for irrational thought and behavior is the M.O. of Bungie so I suppose I should expect nothing less when it comes to Halo 3.
Bungie Monkey 1: "I have an idea. Lets offer Team SWAT, one of the most popular and requested playlists for Halo 3, but we'll only let the community play it for three days."
Bungie Monkey 2: " Thats a great idea. I mean, we can pretty much do whatever we want since we made the game so lets see how much more we can frustrate these players before they all migrate to COD4 and the soon to be released RB6V2."
Bungie Monkey 1: "Hell yeah! High Five!"
Imbeciles.
I will say this: You are extremely lucky that you have a devoted following of many gamers under the age of 16 that do not quite understand the kind of crap you're pulling right in front of their naive eyes. It is sad really, when you think about it. All these kids have no idea how badly they are being treated. Yet, everyday they come crawling back to the Bungie Forums and to Halo 3 because they hang on your every word, no matter how ridiculous it may seem.
My hope is that Halo 3 falls into oblivion before summer approaches. Maybe after thousands of gamers stop paying for your map packs will some sense get mashed into those thick heads of yours. Maybe after thousands of gamers start to realize just how viciously manipulative your tactics are will you submit to humility. Maybe when games like The Force Unleashed, RB6V2, and Too Human leave Halo 3 with nothing more than a whisper of its former glory will you amend your devious ways of thinking. Maybe then you'll actually listen and think before you act.
But, really... who am I kidding, right? I mean, you're Bungie. Millions upon millions of people bought a POS game called Halo 3 and actually thought it would live up to Halo 2. How wrong we were....... how wrong we were. So, why would you change your insipid behavior now? I suppose you wouldn't, which is probably why Halo 3 is as bad as it is. Yes, you sold 150 million dollars worth of Halo 3 at its launch. Congrats. The question here is how many of those people are still playing it? Probably not as many as there should be if the game was up to par and if its developers were mature enough to listen/act with reason.
In honesty, If I was given a logical reason as to why Team SWAT as been left out of the playlist this long, I may have a change of heart. If I was given a logical explanation as to why it is only available for 3 days, I suppose view Bungie is less critical light. If I was given a sound elucidation regarding Halo 3's overall reason for existing as it does, I may "turn the other cheek" as the saying goes. However, I highly doubt given the way you've managed to destroy the credibility of Halo3 are you even capable of any type of coherent reasoning. So I'll spare you the headache and just let bygones be bygones.
By all means, please lock this post out because again, I would expect nothing less given your dictator-esque means of approaching a competent post. Why would you want your child-laden fanbase to become livid regarding the way you approach every situation? I guess you wouldn't like that very much, now would you? I suppose not.
And to think, I once thought Bungie was a congregation of some of the most intelligent and forward-thinking individuals in the industry. I will be the first to admit that I was naive in thinking so. I hope others do the same.
