Don't worry. (EDIT: To the OP)

Trigger Happy is on the loose in the Halo 3 forum right now.

She will go ban and lock crazy.

Trigger Happy is a female? I'm learning all kinds of things today...
Lol, no Trig is a 'man'. Perhaps the poster was referring to the Halo 3 forum as a she, personally I see no attraction.

Haha. One of those fifty-footers...looks good from far away (Halo 3 Forum--sounds great), but once you get up close...(i c4n h45 r3c0n?!11one x 1,000)

Taxes do nothing to affect the share of wealth, since taxes are only applied to income.

So that's not even a part of the conversation at all, so it's pointless talking about it....

"for a "best" moral to exist, there must exist the "best" moral base. If the base of morality varies from location to location, culture to culture...then there can't be an absolute moral..

yes, please start to enforce the forum rules!

i started a thread about this a week ago, and it went nowhere.

right now there are 3 mods online, and they have started to lock threads. in optimatch, they locked a thread explaining why there cannot be loads and loads of playlists. for some reason, the duplicate threads asking for swat, snipers, and an mlg playlist were not locked.

and, for some really strange reason, the mods have not been locking networking threads in optimatch (looking for btb teammates! wanna play team doubles with me?), so they pop up every single day and litter the front pages of the forums.

Yay, two more Septagon regulars as mods. It's not like we need people who actually frequent the Flood anyway. Screw them. We clearly need more people moderating here.

I second that. And when did the news break about new ninjas? I assume they're still in the beaten - while - naked stage, as they still look normal on the forums.

Well with the addition of K Mart and Foman to the moderator team, who are fairly active, hopefully we'll see a decrease in those types of threads.

But just like people said, just keep hitting the report button.

We have new mods?

You know, a better use of your time than creating these kinds of threads is to use the report button. The mods cannot see everything... but you guys do, collectively.

If you actually care about improving the signal in the forums, how about you actually use the tools you're given instead of blaming the moderators for spam and things that aren't spam but you think shouldn't be there anyway.

i use the heck out of the report feature, but i frequently see duplicate threads never get closed, and i frequently see networking threads stay open in the wrong forum. since creating duplicate threads is against the rules, and since people can report such threads, i expect to see them get locked. i then get surprised when i see what feels like 2 new snipers threads, swat threads, and mlg threads every day or so (and all of the threads that ask for infection). i would think that if such threads were promptly locked that users would get the message and stop creating duplicate threads.

I was going to say something along the lines of that, but I knew you would end up saying it anyways. + I didn't want to look like a know-it-all.

You guys know most mods have jobs, school etc. I'm assuming that moderating the forums is not their favorite pastime that they don't 24/7.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I wonder. My life has taken a 180 degree turn. Things for me now are flying so high that I have no idea what I am capable of. Who knows what can happen? I think since I have moved I have have found my banhammer oil. Need to have internetz turned on before I can make that decision.

Oh and if I do come back I can tell you now that the Halo 3 forum and crap clogging up the Flood will come to an ubrupt end. Like hitting a mointain in a rocket powered car abrupt.

To quote Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto.

I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.

Just think about it. A whole new batch of threads from members saying we are being too harsh filling the Septagon. New found energy and willingness to take on anything can be a great thing.

Now where did I put my floaties.......?

It's a good thing you let us all know. ;-)

Yeah, now you only look like a suck-up. *thumps up*

In response to what Achronos said: The report button doesn't seem to do that much recently.

I do. However, you cannot doubt that it becomes frustrating when people flag blatantly -blam!- threads, and nothing happens. Couple of times i've found myself not hitting the button thinking "what's the point? nothing happens anyway..." And i've got a feeling that attitude's becoming pretty prevalent.

Since day one unfortunately...I'm hoping you can have an auto-lock where if lets say 15 members or more report a thread then it gets locked.

I can't say I disagree entirely. I think it would be nice if we just had a little more insight into how using the Report button helps the mods do their job.

For instance... I see a topic that can be seen at a glance to obviously violate the rules (political/religious, all-caps title, etc). By reporting that topic, do I actually draw a mod's attention more than it would otherwise?

I guess what I'm asking is, how does a mod know I've reported a topic? I think people would be more apt to use the Report button if they knew that answer and were confident that using it would produce a result.

It's confidential. Evilcam kept telling me that. But he gave me a little insight into it.
