I have a feeling you will be able to carry one non-dual weapons, and two dual weapons. With the dual weapons though, I think you will not have the option of using them seperately, but when you change to your secondary weapon you will have use both of them at once. This would be bothersome, since you dont always want to use both of them at once, but unless Bungie allows you to use 3 seperate weapons, that's the only option.
This is very doubtfull. One thing I've seen from Bungie is they like to give us control of what we're doing. Having to pull out and use 2 weapons at once doesn't make sense because Bungie knows that while duel weilding is cool there will be situations you won't want to use it. In Halo we were given 2 slots to carry guns with and grenades were used by our left hand. In Halo 2 we're given the ability to use both hands for 2 different weapons. I think they will maybe give us an extra slot dedicated for the left hand (part of the new armor). I also remember them saying or implying early on that control of the left hand was separate from the right hand, in that you could switch your left hand from grenades to a gun, and vise versa, without affecting your right handed weapon. This is of course assuming your right handed is a one handed weapon in which it would automatically switch to a single handed weapon. If you don't have another single handed weapon then it simply won't let you switch. I think this will also apply to picking weapons up. Just as you had to have a gun selected for switching, we will be able to select left hand or right handed slots for picking up weapons. This was maybe hinted at or verified on the E3 demo. When MC takes the ONE SMG from the marine, he automatically switches to duel weilding. This could be because he picks up the weapon with his left hand, automatically making it the current selection, and so the right hand automatically switches from the BR (two handed) to the SMG he was already carrying. I also like the idea mentioned above that two handed weapons will take up 2 slots, one handed weapons will take up one slot, allowing us on a 4 slot system to carry 2 double handed weapons, 1 double and 2 single handed weapons, or 4 single handed weapons. I think that sounds like the smart way to go.
