Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks you're a twat.

Most likely already know but when visiting bungie.net in internet explore 8 beta 1 a large amount of the site is not use able or is not rendered properly.

Here is a picture of how it renders the page

If this isn’t happening with other people then it’s most likely a problem with XP SP3 running IE8

I wish the best of luck to you guys making the site work on yet another new internet browser

Come on, Internet Explorer, do you HAVE to keep messing things up?
Anyway, thanks for pointing this out, but Bungie isn't really going for support on Beta browsers. I'm sure that when IE8 is closer to being released, that they'll test their own site for those problems.

Go to Emulate IE7, for now. Worked for me.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

That's because this site runs in "standards mode", which means to IE8 to load into its newly correctly implementation of CSS2. Bungie.net's current "IE" browser rendering takes into account IE7's less complete implementation of CSS2. This causes IE8 to render things in a weird way. It also doesn't help that there are quite a few rendering bugs in IE8 (it is a beta).

That said, bungie.net does NOT support browser betas of any kind. We have no current timeline to incorporate support of either IE8 or Firefox 3 (IE and Firefox are the two primary platforms bungie.net is designed to operate with).

Heh, in this case, it looks like our layout control system bugs out with IE8, as well as with the scrolling ticker. That's not surprising, both of those use complicated styles and javascript. (You guys can't see it, but lots of "blocks" on bungie.net can be dynamically moved around)

I can't remember the script right now, but if I find it I'll post it. It allows the site to be moved about.
