I just grabbed a copy of Halo PC, with the interest of using CE and mods, and I never played the trial game. I'm running a damn fine PC, the specs are unimportant, and I can and should be able to run Halo at an obscene FPS. The problem is, that under the video options I'm baffled by the framerate settings. If I select V-sync with 60 hz the game runs at 60 fps, which is fine, except I've noticed that running in either with or without V-sync, not only does the game render itself faster, but it also is moving faster. Without V-sync enabled, I run so fast that the sound loop for things like footsteps and the assault rifle are screwed up. The only option that doesn't do this is the 30 fps limiter, but at 30 fps Halo looks horrible, and my PC is wholly capable of rendering it way way higher. Playing online, movement speed is immediatly fixed (for obvious reasons). What can I do to get a nice FPS without having everything in the game run at super speed?

If you are or, any other dual core, open up task manager, right click on the halo.exe process, and in the set affinity options, turn off the second core.

It works perfectly now, thanks a lot, and sorry for the double post. I've been looking everywhere and I couldn't find anyone with a similar problem. Thanks

I believe there is an AMD patch thing that fixes this as well.
