Well... personally I play favorites. If the person in question has black hair. I ban them. If they have brown, I give them a 5/5 rating and add their name to the Recon Armour list.
i know that you say this in jest, but i wonder if this is the case behind some decisions. i have recently seen and reported a few bnet members who were either legendary or mythic on a couple of occasions. for example, let's suppose that a mythic member makes a patent personal attack against a user on one thread, and i report it. i then see the same user attack another user a few days later, and i report it. a few days later i see the same mythic member behave the same way, and his member title is still mythic.
from what i understand of what achronos has told us about member titles, a ban decreases the titles. so, if the mythic member in question were warned for the first violation (of a blatant rules violation), we may not expect to see a change in his member title. but, when the mythic member's new inappropriate posts are read, and when the mod realizes that the user in question has already been warned, it seems that a ban would be issued, and we should expect to no longer see posts by that user (because they are deleted along with the ban) and when we do, we should see a lower member title.
well, that is what i would expect to see, but that is not what i am seeing. what i am seeing is members repeatedly break rules and be reported, yet receive no apparent bans or reductions in titles.
if breaking the rules merits punishment, then i would hope that would be the case regardless of the member titles of the user. but, from what i can see, that has not been the case in particular instances.
Seriously dude, what are you smoking? I am sorry I had to say it that way, but um, moderators don't come running as soon as one person presses the report button, and/or one person feels like rules have been violated. I am rather sure you need a certain number (hopefully over 10) before a moderator is notified. Basically, other people didn't share your views about so called "personal attacks". Also I highly doubt there is an preference for "Mythic Members". Seriously, I don't know where you got that idea, but I am betting Bungie holds them to "GREATER" standards, because they have been here for a while. Except here that is. Maybe you saw a "personal attack" in the community forums? From what I have seen there is overall a more "relaxed" atmosphere here, and lots of jokes about Yoozel's mom. Those aren't really personal attacks BTW, and there is no preferential treatment to "Mythic" members because of that, you may just feel that way.
BTW titles don't mean very much, and I don't see why you seem to hate them so much. I mean where did you get the idea that one user pressing the report button = death for the user? I betcha there are thousands of personal attacks each day, with nobody banned. Ok, that may be a hyperbole, but it is true. Moderators don't come just because of 1 report, and there are so many things going on I doubt a moderator can see every single post.
The title is a "trust rating" so if a user broke that, that would happen. IT appears that you seem to have imagined "title elitism" when there is none..... its kind of wierd how people do that. Nyways, if the "mythic" member in question was really making blatant personal attacks, and was really doing that 'Everyday" I'm sure one day they would get banned. But, if it was on the community forum that is doubtful. Which is what I think you are talking about here.
