If you are using windows try these:
Goto: start, run, type "msconfig" into the dialog box. Select the startup tab and select and deslect the items you want to run or not run.
or:
Go to C:\documents and settings\ *you user name* \ and look for the startup folder. Put any shortcuts of programs you want to run at startup in that folder and delete any you don't want to start.
or:
Goto: start, run, and type regedit into the dialog box. BE VERY CAREFUL OR YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER HERE. Select local machine and go to edit and select find. Type startup in the find box and look for any programs you don't want starting to be listed. AGAIN BE CAREFUL THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS THAT MUST RUN AT STARTUP FOR YOUR COMPUTER TO RUN PROPERLY.
