My Construction contains the Instruction for my Self-Destruction through the World's Corruption
Well I picked up the CQB Steel Spartan at Gameflop. I dunno. Compared to my AVP, MGS, and Quake figurines these Halo figures are severely lacking in quality.
One they're much too small. Should've been a minimum of 7 inches tall.
Two, the paint could've been done a tad bit better. The black outlines around the armor are too thick and drag down the realism, again compared to past McFarlane Figurines like my Predator ones, that are light years ahead of these.
Three, what's with a CQB coming with an Assault Rifle?? Where's the shotgun, i.e. close quarters combat??? So far every spartan they've released comes with an Assault Rifle. EVA should've came with a Sniper Rifle or Battle Rifle. Mark VI a Battle Rifle, and CQB a Shotgun. And the weapon quality is typical of action figures with weak bent tips and the like, which is NOT McFarlane Quality.
Four, although the interchangeablility of the armor seems in theory to be a novel and great idea to custom make your spartan, the implementation is not up to par. The points at where things come off are highly visible and drags down the quality of the figure by revealing un-realistic points on the figure (such as the hands where they connect at the wrists). The chest piece loosely hangs on instead of being integrated into the body as a solid design thereby making the added armor look shoddy. The Helmet removal makes the figure look like he has no neck while the pelvis area is grossly enlarged comparative to the rest of the body making my CQB look like a Grandpa with his pants pulled up to his belly button.
Overall, I'm not as impressed as I expected to be compared to past McFarlane Figurines. It almost feels like they intended for them to be played with by all the little kids that play Halo just like Joyride. That's too bad.
