Cronin's Law----The New Flood Drinking Game

Well, okay then. My first game ever got threadjacked by people who weren't playing very well, so here goes! Whee!

Know how fanbois like to have flamewars? This here thread is a more civillized way to work out your aggressions... Pick an oject of fanboism, and use it to smite your enemies! Let me explain the rules now:
Pick a Team (teams listed below). You don't have to pick one of those, but if you are going to choose something else, please PM me so I can add it to the list of teams. (you don't want to fight alone after all!)
Anywho, Teams are as follows:
Halo
Half-Life
Marathon
Star Wars
Star Trek
---
Anyways, you choose one of those, and use it to fight the other teams... The rules need further clarification, I think, as this will play more similairly to a really bad Pen-and Paper game than to your standard forum game... First of all, this isin't one of those "play as one person" games... you play the role of a commander of multiple ships/troops/whatever. More rules:
* No super weapons! They take all the fun away. Anything that is uncounterable is out.

* No instant fleets! You can bring in reinforcements, but you must alert players when you send for them, give reasonable pause for them to arrive, and give justification for their existance (The UNSC won't have 10,000 ships to spare) and there is a limit of no more than 5000 ships in-system at any given time, as any more gets confusing.

* No insta-kill on other peoples fleets!

The game is set in a five-planet solar system; two small inner planets (inhabitable and not of much use), one large habitable planet (A bit colder than earth; Alpine climate similair to the climate of "Danger Canyon" Halo PC map), and two outer gas giants. There are many advantages to controlling the planet, use your imagination. Since Half-Life has no space forces to speak of (as far as I know... I haven't played the games), they start in control of the planet. Game ends when one team eliminates all other teams from the system.

Have Fun
...
I hope.

I think the Death Star counts as a super-weapon, no? And if not, I can use the Trih' Xeem...

I run around and club dogs with a wrench. Then I found a little handgun. I perserve the ammo. As I continue to run around I spot the AT-Ts and stare in awe. I run up to it and shoot it twice with the gun. Seeing that it has an extremly hard, I run back. I see a little panel adn I hit it. It opens the door to a room. It is a contol room for missles. I fire the only remaining missle at at the AT-T. It destorys it. "Only 49 left!" Then I leave to go exploring.

So how do we... uh... how... start?

I will play Star Trek, as the Borg Hive Mind.

I warp my fleet of five hundred Borg Cubes into the system and begin orbiting the planet, preparing for deployment of ground forces.

*orbital bombardment from my ships destroy most of your AT-ATs, along with the better part of your base Planetside.*

I send a team (10 or so) of Jedis into the Borg Cube that Texas Ben is hiding in. They aren't using phasers so you can't be immune!

Well, I'm Star Wars again.

And I"m still a Jedi of Awesome (my own new class...it's so awesome that it kicks the crap outta any other Jedi out there. Complete Force mastery, unmatched lightsaber skills, and a brilliant strategist who is capable of commanding a massive military group). Now, I have a squad of 30 Jedi on my ship, as well as 5 more for each of my other ships (in other words, all of my capital cruisers have at least 5 Jedi on them).

I have one question...would having a Star Forge count as a superweapon?

Anyhow, I have command of the Rebel/New Republic Fleet. 5 Calamari Super Cruisers, 30 Calamari Cruisers, 75 Blockade Runners, 12 Wings of X-wings, 10 of A-wings, 4 of B-wings, and 3 wings of our new E-wings.

I establish a command outpost around one of the gas giants, and then immedeately get to work on taking the fight to Texas Ben's Borg. Keep in mind, blasters shoot supercharged Tibanna gas, not any kind of frequency-oriented pulse of light. You have to earn your assimilations now!

I'm not on a cube perse... I'm the borg Hive Mind, you cannot kill me. The game doesn't revolve around killing me anyway, its more of a tactical thing... in other words; kill my forces, not me.

*Cube self-destructs, because it is impossible for my lumbering drones to assimilate your nimble jedi. The Jedi All die*

Oh yeah!

Ouch... Star Trek doesn't really have small fighters... If you arm them with projectile weapons, I'm screwed!

Anywho, My fleet moves in and engages, vastly outnumbering your forces. 2 of your blockade runners are captured and all crew assimilated. 1 cube severly damaged. My borg cubes (armed mainly with cutting rays and tractor beams) weapons are woefully underpowered to deal with your heavier calamari-built ships however.

I did last time too, but I can adjust to your capital ships' Turbolasers. Against your infantry I'm screwed tho.

That's what you think. But really they escaped at the last minute. You see, we can cloak our ships to Borg sensors (I can't remember how, I saw it in a ST episode ages ago where it shows how 7 of 9's parents studied the Borg). You probably didn't see them enter, and you definitely didn't see them leave.

They have now gone to regroup to think of a better plan...
