Hi community ppl !

I have a slight issue that i've adressed to Achronos but i think he either missed my PM or just has too many to go through or... he finally left for his honeymoon o_O.

I was offering MS points to my best members (monthly) but it turns out that i can only pass the codes to canadian members. As xbox told me over the phone...
"you can only use MS points in the country you bought them in" BS if you ask me.
Most of my members are not canadian making the hole incentive program unavailable.

So i've posted in the groups forum asking for ideas but i also would like to get some suggestions from the community, prefferably the more experienced members and or the moderatos as what i can replace the MS point incentive with.

One thing that i'm thinking of is getting any new content for H3 that Bungie releases to my members but that means that i would have to send Bungie a money order everytime something is released (that is not a problem). What i'm unsure of is if Bungie (once payment received from me) can upload those contents to the particular gamer tags, kind of like they do with recon !?

So plz help out and give me suggestions as i am not too familiar with what can and what can not be done since i am new to Halo as well as B.net (joined in Nov.2007)

Thanks in advance
Mike

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Well, if you truly would like to keep the MS points going, you can always purchase a Credit Card Gift Card. Then, purchase the points online, and have them sent to the users address. That is basically how I am doing the Fan Art Contest.

As for the paying Bungie for content, I don't know the exact answer on that. So you will have to ask an employee most likely for as precise of an answer as possible.

Nice idea with the CC, the only problem i see there is asking for my mebers address.
Half of them are kids and giving out the address is not something they will be willing to do, especially to a stranger. Yes we are in a group but we are strangers never the less.
I'll look in to it though.

Good idea

No problem.

Well, they will have to make sacrifices. Granted, the first thing anyone ever learned on the internet is to not give out personal information, but this is honestly the only sure fire way to get them Microsoft Points. It's a large trust factor that you will have to build up with your group members, but it is something you may want to look into and to see their opinions on it.

The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

I have also thought of giving members of my group such things but also hit your dilemma, if bungie could do this it would be great. I'm in the UK and most of my members are US citizens hence I can't make the connection.

I really doubt this is possible though as bungie don't control who has the maps, microsoft does :-(

The best solution is for MS to make the points available in every country regardless of purchase location.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Love and the kind, warm clasp of friendship.

Actually, it depends how much you're willing to spend. You could purchase merchandise from the Bungie store (or whatever store you like) and then send to item to people. The only problem with that really is the shipping cost.

If you're just rewarding members who contribute often and well to your group, i personally wouldn't recommend spending money with rewards. Custom titles, new security role powers and the like are pretty cool incentives

Gods Prophet
Ye those are already in place ;)
Reason for the extra incentive is...
I want to give these guys/gals something they can actually use.
The titles / roles are great and some of my members have been advanced through the ranks but B.net and the Group is a 10 minute thing to most of us / them where the MS points or something else is something they can use outside of B.net

edit:
$$ isn't that much of an issue.
Items from Bungie store (good idea too)
same problem though... address

Find one member from the US that can help you out.

If you can find someone you can trust, open up a Paypal account. Then, get a debit card for it. This allows you to upload money to the account, and them to buy a MS card with such a card. The only shipping involved would be sending the card to them to begin with.

You can then treat the paypal account just like a bank account. I believe they even allow you to set purchase limits.

I can help you set it up, if you need me to. ;) Been doing this kind of setup for a year now for a business.
