You can post a sticky. You can even force them to read the stickies. But you little can stop a forum troll from doing what forum trolls do.

All they half to do is when they release the update oon the front page of the website, is to add a message at the end saying if you'd like to discuss and/or provide feedback about this weekend's SWAT playlist do it so here.

All other topics will be locked and a 3 or 7 or 14 day ban issued.

the ban would be small whatever bungie decides.

Spam is a part of Bungie.net and always has been. I'm glad that there's some spam around the forums, it makes for a lighter mood around here. To everyone who spams, please don't stop. If anything spam more.

HATERS GONNA' HATE

Maybe when a person makes a new account they get a reminder to read the rules, and/or take a quiz on it to prove their knowledge about it. That way, we won't get people asking, things like, "HOW DO I USE MY HALO 3 SPARTAN AS A LOGO?!?!1!11!" or something like that.

Кланяються мені!

Perhaps also when posting, there is a list of topics already talked about such as for this forum

Above the "Post to Forum" header when posting, have a list of topics that we here all the time like "member FAQ" rules and other stickies, other common topics with links to the original topics. Hopefully spammers will read it. If not they really deserve no mercy, if you still spam when all the answers appear on your post, before you posted it, banned.

I got this Idea from the h3 junk forums.

Its almost impossible to prevent these threads. There might be some system of eliminating this, but the majority of users don't read stickies. I agree, that something should be done, but doing this would be hard to prevent such.
Step 1: Make an "All SWAT Discussion Here... Or Else!" Sticky

Step 2: Patrol the forums more regularly for a few days, make a concerted effort to have as many mods as possible keeping an eye on Optimatch/Halo 3 round the 20th

Step 3: Ban all OPs of SWAT threads for 3 days, first offence

Step 4: Ignore all PMs and appeals for 3 days - then permaban any 'lol y was i band?' thread posters

Step 5: Success!

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Spam is good. It gives the ninjas something to do; wear the old ones out, and make new ones necessary. =)

While a sticky is useful, the placement of them is terrible. As someone said before, putting it in red and at the top of the forum list is much better.

Somewhere out there... in an alternate reality... Marty decided to stay in the ad jingle business, bringing about an age of amazingly orchestrated Pampers commercials.

I think the ninjas should do what the Sniper discussion that lukems did: "Discuss a Snipers only hopper HERE!", anything else about SWAT gets locked.

Hello.

Yes, but they can't lock everything. The Halo 3 Forum is flooded with threads. Obviously it will help, but like many other stickies, it will be ignored.

Some threads get locked, some don't.....

There needs to be a sticky on the SWAT issue.

As such there also needs to be a thread on the new maps when they come out.

I'll go into more detail later tonight as I'm at school atm and my laptop is about 2 die.

What amazes me is how people see the stickies when they want too.

Exactly. ^^^

Put the message in the main update story and direct them to a Luke or Tom sticky and I bet they won't avoid it.

Once again, Just look at the MLG sticky in the Optimatch forum for evidence that it will work.
