I'm quite proud of myself. I've just thought of a personal poll that I've never seen before.

In 15 seconds my heart beat 14 times, setting my pulse at 56 bpm. It'd probably be closer to 60, though, if I actually counted for the entire minute.

To find your pulse check around your neck or wrist until you feel it. It's quite simple to detect. Lots of people count for 10 seconds then multiply by six, but I prefer counting for 15 and multiplying by four - it makes it more accurate. It's the most accurate if you count for the entire minute, but I'm not pacient enough to do it.

To ground yourself, I run, watch my diet and meditate. My pulse isn't as low as when I swam (it was around 40 bpm then), but if you keep in shape your pulse should fall around in the 70-40 range.

If you're heavy and find yourself out of breath from walking up stairs yet you come up with a low pulse, either you did something wrong or you should see a doctor.

actually i can cotrol mine (no joke) one time i tried to see how low i could take it at the doctors office and it was like 40 something, all i do is focus on nothing, relax everything, and breath very lightly, and just try not to think, not look around, not speak, not do ANYTHING, the doctor thought i was messed up till he redid my pulse and got back to normal

to increase ur pulse jsut get pissed off, get very alert try to listen, feel, think, and just turn everything in ur body on, also breathe a lot deeper or faster (but faster is to obvious) also flex some of ur muscles to stimulate blood flow, i got mine really high doing this once but i was counting so i dont think it was to accurate

If you're really good at noticing tempo changes you can feel more accurately how quickly you can speed up and lower your pulse.

40. Just lay down for 5 minutes, think nothing, drift off...then slowly wake back up and measure it.
