I was playing on one of the Bungie servers just a few minutes ago, and this little bastard was TKing everyone on our team. He must have killed everyone at least once, never banned. Yet we "return the favor" and boom banned immediately. What's the deal? That guy stole the flag from me 3 times so I couldn't score, and rather than scoring himself, he kept everyone else away from it so the other team could score. What happened to the 3 TKs and your out rule? Accidents happen, I know, but this guy was purposely unloading on us with no concern. There needs to be an admin on the servers to stop this from happening. Accidents are one thing, and should be over looked, but constant purposeful TKs are unacceptable for a fun game. Can we please put an admin in the official servers to prevent this from happening?

Bungie servers are useless guys, go to other servs. All tkers go to bungie servs cause they know how retarded that setup is and that it's never moderated... -blam!- waste of space and time those bungie servers are if they don't bother with better anti-tking stuff n' what not.

Good point, the Bungie servers aren't the fastest in terms of ping, or the best in terms of gametypes. Plus, as mard says, they're magnets for TKer's and 'new players'.

Quick Question, i know this is stupid but im still young and figuring out how my computer works, is the sever the current game u are playing on (which i think), or the place where all the games pop up that u can chose from?

It's the actual game. The thing where all servers are displayed is called the 'Lobby'.

I like playing on the bungie servers because they are generally more stable the others. Also, I'm still a novice player, though I can score some good kills on occasion, I'm not as good as I could be. If I go on a clan server, my ass would be respawning more than I would be playing. Anyone know a good server where I won't get blown away so easily (or where someone can teach me a skill or two)

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

Hiya!

Here's a short list of the servers I play on most of the time. They are stable, low-ping (my average ping is around 60 to 70) dedicated servers where TKing is being punished. All the names are EXACTLY matching the names you'll find in the lobby's server list. Just sort the servers alphabetically and you'll easily find them:

[Firebutton.Co.Uk] Halo Team Slayer #1 and
[Firebutton.Co.Uk] Halo Team Slayer #2 - As the name says, these two servers are pure team-slayer. Features both larger maps and also small ones, and fortunately not only Blood Gulch, Sidewinder, Hang'em High or Battle Creek. Most of the player there are of average skill, but you'll also encounter newbies (not to be mistaken with n00bs) and pros there.
Jolt.co.uk - (1) Halo Public - CTF
Jolt.co.uk - (2) Halo Public - Assault
Jolt.co.uk - (3) Halo Public - Slayer TDM - Not clan servers, but servers run by an online gaming magazine. Attracts both newbie players (not to be mistaken with n00b players) and pros; most of the players are average skill, so you'll probably have a very good time there. The only real flaw is the Slayer TDM server featuring the Infinity map - team-slayer on Infinity sucks quite a bit, but right after that you get to play on Battle Creek to make up for it. :p
DVA Squad ClanServer - www.dvasquad.com - This server doesn't have any kind of map/mode rotation but is CTF on Death Island only, and attracts a lot of n00bs (four tanks, four scorpions *sigh*). Still a good place to go if you're good at taking out banshees and tanks on foot, and in the mood to seriously piss off people by doing so... *evil grin*
! TaC UK and
! TaC UK 2 - Nice mix of CTF, team-slayer and ffa-slayer. Expect to get kicked from time to time because TaC lock the servers via password without prior notice (although I think they're not doing it on purpose; their admin is either drunk or retarded).
www.Muffmeister.co.ok - New server featuring BG CTF most of the time; gonna change soon. *eyes Muff* ;-)
!![SS]!!_PLAY_BIG_BOYS_TOYS_MOD_!![SS]!! - A modded server; literally DOZENDS of active camo and overshields spawning all around the map, weapons with unlimited ammo, invisible teleporters that take you to otherwise unreachable spots on the map, etc. Not actually for serious gaming, but a nice change now and then.
::{BT} Black Tower:: pings under 150 only - Interesting server mixing CTF, KotH and slayer. Most players are of average skill, but there also are a few n00bs now and then.

Hey Guys,

Sorry to top this old topic but I run the two [Firebutton.Co.Uk] Halo servers, as I don't personally play Halo anymore I was just wandering if anyone has any suggestions to improve them? Different map roations, gametypes, rules etc. We also run some free Halo bookable servers on the site if anyone fancies giving them a whirl.

Heyyo,

I like team race maps, but make sure you have the scoring set to sum, and not total. Total's useless since most guys don't even bother with laps. Death Island's me fav for race. ;)

1 Thing's that's fun is team slayer on longest, with covie weapons only. Always fun to pwn with a needler on that map. :)

Another fun one is snipers only on Hang em' high, WITH shields.. can't stand the easy ones with no shields... too easy...

I've played a few maps that are pistol only, those were entertaining.

Team Oddball on Rat Race is great! my first HaloPC multiplayer experience was like this! =D

Assault on Danger Canyon's good, put it to classic weapons, cause those fuelrods are too annoying, and make sure there's no ghosts to prevent "wall hacking". Make sure FF is on too to prevent "wall hacking".

Hmm, if I think of more sweet ones, I'll post here. again.. hopes this keeps you entertained in the meantime. ;)

Team killing, as in being a turdball and killing your team members with some evil intention to cause chaos.

"___" whore, basically using one weapon a lot, owning ohers, and them crying about it. Most often people call someone a hog whore or rocket whore.

Pwned, getting owned or owning someone else.

TKing is: Team Killing.

And hang around a bit and you'll get to know the Halo slang.

Oops, Sorry didn't see your post SLD.

hmmm...this stupid thing about rocket whores/hog whores.people who moan about the way others play (unless its totally out of order) like using a hog or weapon all the time are the type of people i tend to stay very, very far away from.they focus on the most "efficient" way to play instead of just having fun.in other words theyre the whores who are missing the whole point of playing altogether.and if someone is thinking of moaning about what im saying,MOVE TO ANOTHER SERVER.USE COMMON SENSE AND FIND A GAME THATS BETTER SUITED FOR YOU.AFTER ALL NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO STAY.

:) :) :)

What's "wall hacking"? Once on Hang 'em High our team kept getting killed and I could not see the shooter. I finally got to the other base and found some player with a sniper rifle pointing into a corner inside their tower. He didn't seem to have spawned there, he was fidgeting around as if to get aim. I shot him in the back of the head. Was he "wall hacking"? If so, why would ghosts help one to "wall hack"? While I'm at it, what's "FF" and how does it prevent it?

I got it, FF= friendly fire. But if you turn it off, you lose some of the challenge.
Thanks

Idryll–

Lol

I just got out of a game of CTF on BG. The game was set for infinite grenades, (I was not the host). I'm far from the best shot with the pistol and we were playing with shields, so other than the sniper rifle not much else works at a distance.

I was liberally tossing grenades at the enemy. Early on I scored the only flag, (both teams seemed to be spending their time in the middle of the gulch popping each other with pistols), by TPing out and sneaking into an empty base and zipping back in a hog. Then I kept lobbing grenades, often from behind them after TPing out.

They called me a "grenade whore." I'm shocked, shocked and appalled... hurt... ohh my poor self esteem! Should I call them "bullet whores"? After all, they kept shooting me! They even reload when they're empty! Of course, they had one guy camping at our TP with a rocket launcher, but I guess that's "sporting."

As I see it, any kill is a good kill, any flag captured is a point. I work with the tools I'm given. Complain to the host about the 'nades. I prefer 4 frag, 4 plasma, though I'd prefer a limit of 8 total no matter what the kind.

Personally, I don't like tanks and banshees in BG, (they're fine in Sidewinder death island, and other maps). I still get in BG games where they are used. I hate them most because they make my favorite, (the hog), too vulnerable in that wide open space.

I really hate getting surrounded by enemy tanks while they spawn kill us and take our flag. But if Bungie thought spawn killing was wrong, they could have made us all invulnerable for the first 3-4 seconds after respawning. But they didn't, so I work on my tank and banshee killing technique– and I just return the favor when I get the tank.

One guy was able to hop out of a banshee when I stuck a plasma 'nade on it, let it explode, flip the banshee back over, get in and keep on killing. He did it over and over again. Annoying, but poety in motion.

If you are a hog whore in a no shields sniper game, it's stupid. I use the pistol mostly because I'm good with it and I start with it. I will use other weapons if they are there. I guess you could call me a pistol whore but then you'd be dead :)

*Agrees with Chewy*

Wall hacking is where in Danger Canyon, someone stands agains the back base wall. Their teamate the rams them with a hog at top speed. They pop out the other side at the rear wall of the other base. This IS cheating, and if you are on my clan servers ([RS] All welcom Dedicated Server #1/#2) you WILL be banned.
