It would be sweet if you could only hear and talk to people that you we're actually near in the Multiplayer on Xbox Live. You would have to make your plan as a team and then go out and follow through. It would also have to work the other way around, like, if you creeped into the enemy teams base you could hear what conversations they were having around you. Then we'd have all kinds of nerds coming up with goofy ass halo code with their clans. Oh, the possibilities...

Well Spartans have a communicator inside their suit, so they can talk to eachother when they arent even by eachother. It also can make it so if he says something that someone standing right next to him cant even hear it (if he wants).
