I think it's safe to assume that Bungie has been concealing potential bombshells from the general public and forum community. It has already been confirmed that there will be vehicles whose parameters are rather 'sketchy'... What if there are boats? It would make sense wouldn't it? Bungie has successfully implemented the use of every other mode of transportation, why not boats? I'm not necessarily for or against the idea, I'm just curious what the rest of you think.

Additionally, I stumbled upon a conceptual rendition of a Halo boat, which is clearly partially responsible for the creation of this thread. Oh, and finally, I apologize if this has already been discussed... to death.

If there was a boat i'd like it to mainly be a carrier kinda like the ones outta Saving Private Ryan..............except more science-fictiony.

Definately. Water attacks and water vehicles would add a whole new twist to the game.

If there's a boat, it should be a row boat! You could yell vulgur chants to keep you in rhythm as you cruise along at sub-sonic speeds, running over foolish elites in their archaic plasma-driven speed boats. WOOHOO! Plus, you'd be resistant to radar detection...

Boats could be nice, as long as they don't come with extensive sea-levels that have you die for no good reason every time you fall into the water (think GTA).

In a movie called “the evolution of Halo” you can see that, a long long time ago, Halo did had a controllable boat…well it was a really piece of Blam (the design, the sound and..coff coff the totally…”revolutionary” way of driving it, which is definitely NOT a good thing! I'd explain it to you, but your brain would explode ;)

Nevertheless I don’t think that Halo 2 will have a boat, I might be wrong…but if they do eventually include a boat they’ll have to do it very wisely not to disarray the gameplay!

ok guys picture this. a multiplayer game where two opposing teams eahc have ships. on their ships are massive turrets, rocket launchers etc. for offense you have banshee's and whatever other air ships they might have. and the object of the game is to sink each others battelships!!!! how sweet would that be? like massive turret defense, which makes it impossible for plains to attack without being weel co ordinated, and then just an army of plains for offense. capture the flag would be feasible here too, i mean you can fly in snatch the flag and then hopefully have a plain waiting in order to fly out. the idea is completely feasible.

i think something like a futuristic hovercraft is much more likely for halo 2, for ground and water. abit like (but better) than a similar vehicle that i saw off a half life 2 demo. hovercrafts people you know it would rock and work better on the mp maps

I agree that the implementation of watercraft would be a very delicate process. The inclusion of a hovercraft certainly has potential as well. As far as I'm concerned, I'm a Halo fundamentalist; give me a Warthog and I'm content. Though I must admit the ATV’s got me pretty excited.

How would Master Chief's armor react to water? Its air tight, so could it act like SCUBA gear? Also, i agree with the Hovercraft thing. The Covenant are focusing more on air insertion from Dropships, why would they need boats?

How about,....wait for it, and amphibious warthog? with like ballast on the side or something :)

I mean the i see no reason why the ghosts couldn't go over water, so i think that the warthogs should be able to go through too.

If bungie has a boat then i think a jet ski type thing would also be awsome.

I think we'd have a type of hovercraft. Maybe the pilot could fire the main gun, while there would be pods with LAAGs on the side for passengers.

That would be awesome, you'd also need shallow water and a way to board the boats from the ocean floor. That way you can hop overboard, walk along the bottom and board their boat! I think it would be a great idea. I would certainly play that mission, it reminds me of the Boarding multiplayer map or whatever it was called.

Never thought of that. I suppose a ghost would work on water cause it hovers. If thats true all covenant vehicles would work on water.
