"Daddy, I had a bad dream." You blink your eyes and pull up on your elbows. Your clock glows red in the darkness—it's 3:23. "Do you want to climb into bed and tell me about it?" "No, Daddy." The oddness of the situation wakes you up more fully. You can barely make out your daughter's pale form in the darkness of your room. "Why not sweetie?" "Because in my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing wearing Mommy's skin sat up." For a moment, you feel paralyzed; you can't take your eyes off of your daughter. The covers behind you begin to shift.

Actually one of the best creepypasta's I read. Been awhile since one freaked me out like that.

One a day a little boy was playing video games and was having fun like always and all of suddenly he sees a reflection of a man with mask and a knife. So he turns around and nobody is there so he thinks he is imagining things, So later he is playing and sees this guy again, so he turns around and doesn't see anything. Later, he gets on the message boards and sees a thread about the reflection of the guy and it says that if he see him he will come and kill you, so he turns around and sees the guy with the mask and the knife.

sorry did not see the thing at the top

Actually, he isn't related to Steven King but I am(no kidding)

Really? Can't believe you without proof.

Well, i don't know how to prove it but i live in the same state as he does(Maine) All i can say is that he's my grandmothers, cousins, husband

since were on the subject of relatives, Captain Morgan, the famous Privateer [pirate], former governor of Jamaica, and guy on the rum, is my uncle!!!! his family name via his brother was married into mine via my great grandmother and it was proven [after much skepticism] with research and more research. it surprised even me! so naturally pirates>ninjas IMO, but pirate ninjas beat all [note pirate comes before ninja]

scary, huh?

The Intruder

My friend's sister frequently babysat. One night, she was watching three kids, whose parents were going to be out until about 2:00am. She fed the kids and then they watched some movies. Around 8:00pm, she put the two-year-old to bed. At 8:30, she put the four-year-old to bed and at 9:00, the eight-year old.

She was still hungry so she went back downstairs to make herself a sandwich. When she was almost done, she heard the eight-year-old crying and calling her name. She went upstairs to see what was wrong. When she got up there, the child said she was cold, so the babysitter looked around for another blanket.

As she was doing that, she noticed that the window was open. She thought she had closed all of them but didn't think anything else of it. She closed the window, gave the little girl another blanket, and checked the other windows in the other two children's rooms to make sure they were secure, and then went back downstairs.

When she went back to the kitchen, she noticed that her sandwich was gone. She just brushed it off and blamed it on the dog. She made herself another sandwich. Again, she heard crying, but this time it was the four-year-old. She went to his room, and he too said he was cold. She noticed the window was open again. She was worried this time because she knew she had locked it. She didn't want to scare the child so she just shut and locked it.

She returned downstairs and turned on the alarm system. When she went back to the kitchen, she discovered that her second sandwich was gone. She was really worried so she decided to call the cops. When she told them that her sandwiches were disappearing, they thought she was crazy. She then told them about the windows opening repeatedly and they said it was probably just the kids doing it. After she hung up, she made herself a third sandwich.

She soon heard the two-year-old crying and went up to see what was wrong. Her window was also open. At this point, she was very frightened, so she gathered all of the kids, the cordless phone, and took them into a pantry closet in the kitchen. She called the police again, saying that she was really scared because someone keeps opening the windows and stealing her sandwiches -- and it's not the kids. They told her not to be worried, that they would be over in a few minutes to check it out.

She hung up the phone and held onto the kids tightly. A few minutes later, she heard a noise in the kitchen, and saw the knob turning on the pantry door. She was about ready to scream when a cop opened the door. She asked why they came so fast. He had a worried look on his face and told them to get out of the house. He then told her that on the phone, he heard a double click.

Took me a second to get it.

Once, 2 Spartans were forging on Sandtrap when they saw an orange Elite in the middle of the map. They went to investigate it. One spartan walked up to it and, after a few seconds, hit it. It sent the Spartan flying outside of the barrier to his doom. The other spartan took a few steps back, pulled out his brute shot but it was too late because... The re-spawn counter had already started...

That's my contribution to this thread =-P!

The clock says 3:45 AM. It’s been pouring incessantly for the past two days, lucky I live on a hill or it probably would have been a flash flood. The thunder woke me up I think, it’s very noisy, it must be close. The flash of lighting lights up the room faintly. I hate that light, the middle of the night with a pale light, creepy. I’m sweating, I always sweat when I’m under the blankets, I hate this down comforter. I’ll be up in three hours, to another day at school, I should get back to sleep, I’ve got a big test tomorrow. I close my eyes and wait for sleep to overcome me. I open my eyes again, it’s 4:30. I must of fallen asleep again. I have an odd feeling that the thunder didn’t wake me up though. I look around the room, I don’t think I’m alone. I get up and turn the light on, then the hallway light and go to the bathroom and turn that light on too. I’m pretty creeped out now so I leave my bedroom light on. I look under the bed, nothing. Climbing into bed I freeze. The clock says 2:20. How is that possible? I don’t want to think about it so I turn out the light and close my eyes. I check one more time but the clock is off. I try and turn on the light but it doesn’t go on. Second power outage this week. Great, now the power’s out and I don’t even know the real time. I look over and the clock is flashing 12:00, a short power outage. Too bad my clock doesn’t reset automatically. I go to turn on the light and the clock and now it says 10:00 and counting back. 9:59…9:58…9:57. Now I’m seriously freaked out. I unplug the clock but it’s still counting back. The clock starts ticking, and it seems almost comical. I look in the door and see a figure but it vanishes as I look straight at it. I start hearing laughs. A man is saying over and over, “your going to die!.” I tell him he’s lying and I’m not going to die. Vines start crawling down the ceiling and up my bed. They seem to be made of blood veins. I think I’m going to go get my parents. As I think this the door closes. The veins straddle my arms and start to strangle me. A demonic woman walks in and stands right next to my bed. “Kyle”, it says, the figure transforms into my mother. You had a nightmare, I think it’s that cold medicine.

This story is based on a night where i took some cold medicine and completely freaked out most of the stuff really happened but is exaggurated.

Looks like im not going to sleep tonight. I've read enough scary stories to last me a week without sleep.

When you hang up a phone, the person on the other end hears one click.

So two clicks would mean two phones.

The Killer

A couple was tired of being cooped up in their house and decided to go to dinner alone, leaving the 2 children with their next door neighbor's daughter. All was fine. Then the buzzer on the dryer down in the basement went off. But before she left, the phone rang...
She answered and the mother said, "Hi is everything o.k.?" The babysitter answered, "Yeah I was just about to take out the laundry" Then the mother said, " But, I didn't do any laundry, get out of the house now and I'll call the police" So the police came and found a serial killer in the basement by the dryer.

The cop heard a double click, meaning someone was listening to their conversation. The double click was the sound of whoever that was in the house hanging up after the baby sitter did.

A few I got from searching around.

It was past ten in the evening. I thought I was the only passenger on the bus, but I heard children’s voices from behind. The children were apparently talking about a ghost story.

Child A: “…. and if you turn around, the ghost will snatch you away and carry you to the afterworld!”

I recognized the voice. I often saw these children on the same bus after work. They went to a cram school.

Child B: “Then that’s easy. All you have to do is make sure you don’t turn around.”

Child A: “Yes, but I heard you can’t help but turn around. The ghost would try all sorts of tricks on you to get you turn around.”

It was nearly the bus stop where these two usually got off, but it looked like they didn’t notice it. I thought I should warn them because I didn’t want them to go home late. So I turned around and said, “you are getting off here aren’t you?”

Child A: “See, I told you so.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During a wedding reception of a young couple the guests decided on a drunken game of hide and seek. It was decided that the groom was “it” and he eventually found everyone but his new bride. Eventually the man became furious and decided it wasn’t funny anymore and left her there. As weeks went by he accepted that she’d had second thoughts and went on with her life so he did the same. A few years later a cleaning lady dusted off an old trunk in the attic of the building where the reception had taken place, out of curiosity she opened it. Inside the trunk was the rotted body of the missing bride who’d apparently became locked in the trunk she’d hid in. Whether she’d suffocated or starved was unknown, but her face was frozen in a scream.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You know that ringing sound that you will perceive when you are in a very quiet area? Some people say this is an auditory-illusion brought about the ear’s inability to detect frequencies below the threshold of the human senses. This is completely wrong. That ringing covers up something else altogether. If you are quick, patient, and maybe a little lucky, you will be able to hear past the ringing. What you will hear are voices whispering to each other. They will silence themselves quickly but with practice, you will become more adept at catching and interpreting what they are saying. You will hear things of the past, the present, and the future. However, you must be careful. Because there is no such thing as a voice without a body.

And when you start noticing them, they will start noticing you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next time when you’re lying in bed and the moon is new, when you’re at the moment where you’re almost asleep and your eyes are closed…try listening for the sounds. More specifically, sounds that shouldn’t exist in our realm. At this point, you’ll notice the world around you change, but don’t you dare open your eyes or make any movements.

If you lay right where you are, with your eyes closed, you’ll feel something trace a finger, a claw, or perhaps something even worse, across your forehead. The moment it stops tracing, you’ll wake up and it will be morning. Within that new week, you will die.

However, depending on what was traced on your head, you’ll either enter a paradise of a world, or you’ll enter an evil world of torture.

So…do you want to find out what’s on the other side?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every family in every town in every country on every continent has one. It’s a cabinet, not particularly odd, not out of place. The paint was peeling a bit on the corners and the knob was a bit loose. The inside smelled like dust and the paint wasn’t the same as the kitchen walls.

You hid in there once during a game of hide ‘n’ seek.

No one told you it doesn’t open back into your reality. Don’t worry, you can’t tell the difference.

But everyone misses you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any night, around 10 or 11 pm, take yourself to a flat, open area where you can walk in a straight line for two minutes or so without running into anything. Once there, face in the direction you plan to walk, with your arms at your sides and your hands relaxed. Close your eyes, and take a deep breath. At precisely 11:09 and 20 seconds, start walking. Be sure to take one step every second, no more, no less. Do not open your eyes, and do not hesitate. Count your steps in your head as you go. On the one hundred and eleventh step, say the word “One” out loud, and stop. Your breath will catch in your throat, and your hair will stand on end. For the next ten seconds, you will be unable to move a single muscle in your body, no matter how hard you try. After these ten seconds, you will be able to move and breathe again – however, you will then start to feel the sensation of cold metal claws seizing each of your fingers by the base and plucking them clean off of your hand. It will not hurt. You will surely be horrified, but do not open your eyes, and do not move. If you move or open your eyes, all that anyone will ever find of you is your two fingerless hands, severed cleanly at the wrist. Once the claws have stopped, and all of your fingers have been plucked off, stay still for another ten seconds. It may help to count. After these ten seconds have passed, you may open your eyes. You will find that your fingers are still quite firmly attached to your hands. Go home immediately, and go directly to bed. Speak to no one for the rest of the night, and enter no building that you do not consider your home.

The next day, you will have become One of Them. Once per day, as long as there is even a sliver of sunlight, you may point at someone and speak the word “One.” That night, he will face the same trial that you faced. If you see that person the next day, you will know that he, too, has become One of Them. If not, then do not be alarmed if you do not feel hungry the rest of the day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are exactly 17 people on this earth fated to kill you. If you somehow manage to avoid these 17 people during your lifetime, you are taken to a place of monumental beauty where you are stripped of all clothing and branded on the space just above your navel with a name. When you are sent back to earth, it’s your mission to kill the person branded on you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The images we see in the mirror are the pure incarnates of evil. They are only allowed to exist in the area reflected in the glass. To them, life is like a never-ending hell, rotting away in the same room day after day. The only refuse from this purgatory is death, and the only way for them to die, sad to say, is if YOU die. Fortunately, they are bound by a code. You are their master, and they must mirror your every movement and expression. To do otherwise would break an unbreakable law, unraveling the space-time continuum. However, there is a loophole, and it can only be triggered by you, the master. To force them into error is to free them from their contract; after you let them out of your view, you’re on your own. Know this: when you watch them, they’re watching you back. They’re watching.

And they’re thinking.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this world exists a spirit neither male nor female. This spirit is covered with a
dark cloth with a separate white cloth to cover it’s head. It is said to carry an
enormous brown burlap sack in which to hold it’s victims in. It is said the second
it’s name has been called out, either directly or indirectly, the person is
collected and is property of the spirit. Many who have witnessed its appearance have
been said to have gone insane with their eyes gouged out. This spirit is very, very
real and failure to not mention it’s name will cause Candlejack to come whisk you
awa
