"Escape From Torment"

Chapter I: Rude Awakening
You are Carlos Trevor, a Junior in high school. You have it all, friends, passing grades, a job. Everything except for knowledge of torment which lies ahead...

It has been an exhausting day at Salius High, tests every class with the thought of relaxation in your home ahead. Chattering about people, events, and television shows with your best friend, Joey Buddson, you see your parents pull out from the driveway. As sunlight flashes across your face, they explain that they're leaving for a Pennsylvania vacation for three days. You, seventeen-year old Carlos Trevor are now in charge of the house until they return.

The house is painted white, also has flower and shrub before it. There is a maple tree to the right that you remember playing around at a young age and the area is sub-urban. Your friend, Joey, asks if he can stay for a while and you accept. You stay outside for a moment to watch your parents drive away then you enter the house.

The flooring is fresh wooden plank with tan walls around. You proceed ahead to the kitchen which Joey is already heading down into the basement without you. You open the freezer to take out hot pockets. While waiting for them to warm, You search for a bag of pringles chips and a two- litter bottle of sprite.

You carry the food and beverage down into the basement where Joey waits on a couch before a television. To your surprise, he has a new movie called "Escape From Torment" which someone left behind in a hurry. You set everything down on a coffee table and relax as the movie begins.

Watching it, you notice it unique by being shot from a camera. It starred a teenaged female character named Kellia who was stalked by Torment. Kellia wore a light-black jacket and had medium legnth orange hair. Torment was a mutant creature with four arms, a split jaw, and tentacles. The creature could lay eggs inside people which would tear thier way out from the body and feast upon it after hatching.

Torment's first appearance was concealed away behind a large, black coat with even the face hidden behind a hood. The creature had rarely revailed it's true nature and always kept to the shadows. In the end Kellia had managed to escape through the use of a subway tunnel and although Torment had gotten hit by a train, it never truely died.

By now the sky is dark and stormy when Joey leaves. You start changing the channel to regular programming when you hear creaking above you. You dismiss it as Joey grabbing food or using the bathroom. Soon you become tired and require sleep but first you need to use the bathroom. You lazily get up and after shutting off power to the television, head upstairs.

Along the way, you get an eerie feeling of being watched but manage to dismiss it. Finally after the bathroom break you can head upstairs to rest. You proceed through the kitchen to open another wooden door which one might assume to be a pantry just as the wooden basement door. It's not a pantry but actually leading to a staircase as you already know.

You ascend the staircase and open the wooden door atop it. From here, your room is straight ahead but you must keep turnning lights off along the way. Finally, you reach the room and leave your current clothing on as you're just that tired.

As you begin falling asleep, you begin hearing footsteps which seem to grow louder with each passing one. You stare at your also wooden bedroom door to see it slowly creak open. A black, shadowy figure squeezes through and you awaken terrified. Suddenly, you hear a crash come from downstairs and you cautiously get out of bed...

Chapter II: Terrorization
Slowly, you proceed forward with your heart beating faster upon each individual step. You strain against the fear of checking out the sound for the nightmare could be real. Slowly but surely you overcome that fear and dismiss the thought that such a thing could possibly exist. Opening the wooden kitchen door you notice glass shattered against the wooden floor and the wooden basement door open. Quite alot of wood you notice but then again, it just is.

As you approach the door, a shadow ascends and you recoil. To your luck, it's Joey and sure enough he explains that he dropped something by accident while returning to take the movie back. Without notice, a serpent- like tentacle crawls up the basement stairs and constricts Joey. You try your best to free him but the tentacle pulls him down into the darkness.

With a deep breath you chase down after him to assist, nothing on the way down unlike the fear suggests. Instead, all terror is proven false when you look around to find nothing. Heard around the basement is light moaning, you search around near crates stacked up to find Joey curled up on the dusty floor. You assist him up and help him up the stairs much like a true friend would.

Joey makes an atempt of walking unassisted when he falls over into the living room, at least he is living. Suddenly, You rush over to help him up when you hear a horrific-monstorous growl from the basement but are afraid that if you leave Joey be, he may not survive. Without warning the power goes out and the house is left in darkness with only flashes of lightning which would break it.

Peeking into the kitchen, one flash reveals the same black figure from the nightmare slowly approaching. With the next flash, it's gone and you start to panic. It's only when Joey shifts that you stop feeling afraid. You hear Joey slowly rise and ask what had just ocurred. You explain how you helped him up here and now you ask him to follow your lead; the only way out is to stick together.

You and Joey walk into the kitchen in search of a flashlight. Not only should it repel the creature but also provide sight. You find batteries and hand them over to Joey who found the flashlight. In a moment you can see by the shine of it but fail to see the black-clothed figure. You would figure that as large as it is that the thing would just attack already.

It is only when you turn to Joey to comment on the situation that you get another eerie feeling. You slowly turn to see the creature towering above you. Still with fright, you notice that the creature wields a long, half- red blade and prepares to strike when Joey uses a combination of attacks to save your life. Joey shines the flashlight into the creatures hood which seems to boil through and make it stumble back which leaves Joey with the open option to kick the thing back down into the basement.

Together, you and Joey both descend willingly after it to end this nightmare, it would not stop until dealt with. Unfortunately, it is once again nowhere to be found. You still look around though, persistance is always good for getting something done here and now. You check the VCR on the television set to see if "Escape from Torment" is still in there.

Sure enough that it is and also sure enough that once you pull it out that the creature from the movie should be sighted again. This time however, is unlike others as the creature's inhuman face can be seen from a mile away. You at least wish it was a mile away, it was anything close to a bulked- up neck of a turkey. That "neck" hung over itself the reveal a jaw split into four individual sections.

Perhaps even worse was it's temprer after Joey's previous actions. A number of serpent- like tentacles bursted out from all possible sides and swarmed around itself to protect from flashlight attacks. You think to yourself: all we need now is some dramatic music...

"Escape From Torment"

Chapter III: False Hope
It's about now that you reconsider the whole fighting thing because if you stayed, you would probably die. Lucky is having a passage behind the stairs leading to the other side of this basement. The other side meaning where you found Joey after he had gotten pulled down here. Unlucky is having serpent- like tentacles chase you the entire way; if there were to be a nomination for persistance, Torment would achieve it.

Among the many crates, only one stands out among others. There seems to be an odd shape marking the wall behing it, more metallic than concrete. An idea formulates in your head and you ask Joey if he can assist in pushing the crate away from it's spot on the wall. You both quietly approach the crate as tentacles slide around above, searching for targets to dismember.

Once the crate's moved, you realize that the shape's actually a hidden metallic door. Another monstorous growl is heard but louder than before. Joey shines his flashlight around to see torment standing tall with all focus on the annihilation of you and your friend; this shall be one image never to ever escape your mind. Joey tries to burn the mutant creature with the flashlight's shine but is surprised when a tentacle whacks the tool away.

You try the metallic door but it's locked, it's suddenly that you formulate another idea. While Joey runs off to find his lost tool, you stand before the door long enough to not only distract the creature but use it. Torment sends a tentacle in fast to tear into you but with a doge, goes through the door instead. Now Joey has his flashlight and manages to keep Torment stuned long enough for you to unlock the metallic door; you use the hole for bypassing to the opposite side.

Both you and Joey escape through the now- open door in an attempt to abandon the creature. It seems truely like the movie suggests: this is the escape from torment, complete and utterly. You both quickly kick open a secondary metallic door deeper inside and close it behind you. You are both overcome with relief while walking through this new dark, rotten, unpleasant concrete passage with the only scent being that of a sewer.

The only lightsource is Joey's flashlight and unfortunate it is that the passage looks like it ends ahead. Relief comes only from the fact that the passage takes a turn right and then left to continue its direction as if to avoid something. Your slow speed quickens as heavy footfall is heard behind you, only one thing which it could come from. Your heart races faster and faster as you quickly sprint through a long hall; the sight of a hole along the floor before the dead end ahead awaits your arrival.

You reach that goal and drop down to a completely unknown location; unknown to you at least. All lighting is dimmed down as darkness shrouds around the corners of the room. The room is shaped like a half- cut cylinder, something much like an aircraft hangar or perhaps a greenhouse. There's only a wall behind you but before you is a distance for you to proceed across.

At the end is what appears to been a ninety degree drop. You approach that drop with the scent of sewage only to see that this drop works like a waterfall for sewage to arrive at a lower level. You hear cracking and snaping on the cieling behind you, you already know what to expect. A portion of the ceiling collapses and dust scatters the blind your vision.

When the effect clears, Torment emerges from remaining dust particles which circulates fresh debris. You back away and come closer and closer to the edge. This gives you one last idea to formulate itself inside you mind. The creature readies its tentacles and blade as you quietly tell Joey your plan.

It's all too sudden that Torment charges towards you but then again, you were ready for this. As the creature nears you, you quickly dodge out of the way soon enough to see Torment drop over the edge as planed. It's only one way to deal with a problem that you would wash it away down a river of sewage. With that taken care of, you command Joey to follow and proceed toward a metallic door off to your right.

The new are seems to be a hall which leads left and down metallic stairs. It seems to be a metallic catwalk all in all; pipes run along its side on the right which is lit only by a reddish glow. All you hear is the hum of machinery, it's obviously a side passage. You follow its legnth and arrive before an aperature which casts a glow of light upon the catwalk.

You proceed through the opening to arrive atop a passage running aside the river of sewage. The problem is that it fails to lead in one single dirrection, it's a practical labyrinth. It's here that even through the horrid scent of flowing sewage that seems peaceful? No, mostly it's the fear that Torment will be right around the next corner and this entire journey would turn into a chase.

What feels like an eternity passes and you finally notice an accessable ladder. You climb up first and work to push the manhole cover away but must climb back down to let Joey try. Of course he is able to get the job done and is first to escape to the streets above; you climb second and as if your life depends on it. Atop the street above, you put the cover back into place and take a deep breath of fresh nightime air.

What's eerie about the streets is that no vehicles are driving around. Not so odd because it's nighttime but still eerie You notcie just how far that journey was as you live in the sub- urban area outside the city and yet now you're right inside the city with tall structures towering around you. You see a subway entrance and figure it's better than another long walk.

You and Joey proceed towards the subway entrance and descend the still well- lit concrete stairs. As you go to purchase tickets, life returns to the area and people crowd around. Luckily for Joey, you have extra cash to spare and both with tickets, you wait in line. Finally after what feels like another eternity, the train arrives.

One problem is that the train seems so empty and lifeless upon arriveal but when you board it, the car becomes crowded. In your seat, it's not long before the doors close but even as crowded as it is, people seem so quiet. As the train begins moving, you feel some relief but that dies when something large seems to fly across the window opposite of you. Suddenly, the train shakes violently and everyone panics; it's only when you realize what's happening that everything fades black...

"Escape from Torment"

Chapter IV: Derailment
Vison slowly returns in a blur but not to the peaceful sight you wanted. The area is dim and dark with only sparks and fire to brighten you line of sight. All that surrounds you is people in thier seats; some are luckily just badly wounded or unconcious, everyone else is dead. You remember who you are and what had caused this. It was not just a train ride, it was a death trap.

You hear Joey in pain and get out of your seat to find him. Once found, you are surprised because he is intact but still in pain for some odd reason. You assist Joey out from his seat and walk down to an exit door; here you must force it open alone. Fire spreads rapidly and you continue forcing open the door. You and Joey both escape seconds away from disaster and the entire train car lights up into flames.

Outside the train wreck, Joey equips his flashlight and shines it around. The familiar sense of eerieness returns as you hear a metallic object fall from behind you and turn to see only the train which completely blocks off that direction of travel. You then hear footsteps coming from the darkness of the only available direction which frightens Joey enough to make him lose grip of the flashlight. You almost want to laugh with relief when it turns out to be a female which reminds you of someone for some reason.

She wears a light- black jacket and medium legnth orange hair. She introduces herself as Kellia and is about the explain more but you respond that you know already. She insists and explains how her journey was recorded by a friend as she was hunted by torment. Kellia asks a quick question if you've seen Torment's true form yet and before you can respond, you hear the all- too familiar horrific growl coincidentally.

You turn around to see it in its true nature atop the flaming train wreck. With a short pause, Kellia suggests a simple plan, run. Without a look behind, you all start sprinting down the tunnel with only joey to light the way. After the exhausting run you, Joey, and Kellia all pull off to the convenient door on the left. The room is pitch black which is broken only by Joey's flashlight.

The room appears to be rusty and full of dust; it's a few minutes that the panic ends to slight peacefulness. You look where the flashlight shines and think you can see an old- broken generator when the peace suddenly changes. Joey quickly falls to his knees in intense pain and announces all of it. A pain that starts in his stomach and rises to a shoulder. Blood sprays out from his neck and a claw pierces through.

The last thing Joey experiences is some kind of mutant parasite tear its way out and all fades black. You, Carlos, hear Kellia comment that the egg grew and hatched; a sad notice that Torment's actually female. You search around for the parasite and find no luck; you only wonder where the origonal creature originated from. With disapointment, you rest you back to the door you entered from. Suddenly, a serpent- like tentacle pierces through the door, wraps around you, and pulls you away as all once again fades.

you awaken again in a blur as Kellia's face gains relief. To your side, torment somehow lies dead on the tracks and you grab Kellia's hand to be pulled to your feet. you both begin walking away when you hear something shift. You turn around to see the creature get back up and prepare for an attack. Thankfully, an unexpected train arrives and avenges the one you came in on by passing you two but traveling right through torment.

Sunrise brightens the sky as both you and Kellia arrive before your suburban home. Kellia explains that the film you watched was filmed by Kennith, a name you recognize from school. Kennith had met the same unfortunate fate that Joey had recently experienced. With that, you watch as Kellia walks off into the sunrise and you think about just how easily it happened for you; it was Kellia who actually brought Torment down not once but twice. You think of this as an intense pain starts in your stomach and rises to a shoulder...

Did anyone here ever read that story called "Prey" its by Richard Matheson.

I have it in one of his books,I would post it here but its kind of long,Its like 10 pages on the book.

Ah, you refer to the story of Amelia who is pursued by He Who kills, an evil fetish doll. I found the film rather humerous.

I got another one but the name may give the title away.

Caroline just cannot find her son, she was taking him on a hike through the woods but he must've taken off when you got distracted. She's already tried calling the police but the search has failed to turn up anything so far. They asure her that the child shall be reunited and that she should calm down and return home. On the way back, she stops by her friends house which is beautifully decorated with vegetation as always. Caroline asks if she had seen her child but the response from Jenna is disapointingly no. Jenna asks if she wants to join them for dinner, it was just freshly prepared and should be ready soon. Thinking it should calm her down, she replys "sure". Caroline still wonders if the police will ever find her child and sits patiently. Soon dinner's ready and she sits at the table. It looks like a nice- juicy and tender meat and Caroline is even tempted for a second plate. Caroline asks where they even found this meat and Jenna replys that her husband had found it in the forest; it was half-eaten near the burnt down lodge. Caroline remembers that it was actually the exact place where she had last seen the child. Caroline gets a very sick feeling in her stomach...

The name of the story is "Mystery Meat"

I wrote this for a different thread and had to use ten certain words in it but i figured I'd post it here too, here ya go-

Acid Pudding and a Squirt Gun

Teddy's vision blurred as he tried to finish his pudding, the drugs were taking effect. His depression was at an all time low but he was starting to feel a little better. His pudding fell to the floor and he felt a peace wash over him. He knew everything about the universe, he was the universe. There were glaciers in his blood stream and lizards crawling underneath his skin. He slowly got up and walked to his liquor cabinet. Grabbing a bottle of brandy he sudden had the desire to get what was in his garage. It took awhile for him to get there, by now he felt like a troop getting ready to deploy in Vietnam. Terror overtook him and he was sure there was a bomb hidden in his garage. If he opened the door his whole world would disappear in one instant of pure fire and chaos. As he shook in place he chugged half the bottle of brandy, the other half went down the front of his shirt. He plucked up his courage, opened the garage and immediately felt better. He had a bunch of songs queued on his computer and played some soothing ones. He then grabbed the gun and wondered what his parents would say postmortem. He started laughing hysterically at the thought. He had the desire to put the gun in his mouth as he had so many times as a kid. He was burning up and the gun would bring him comfort. He put it in his mouth and pulled the trigger.

He woke sometime later lying on the floor of the garage smelling of brandy. His squirtgun lay in his hand and he was soaked, he mustve sprayed himself with it. As Teddy got up to go into his house he called his friend Josh. There was no answer but he left a message, 'Man Josh, that was some good acid you got us, I was trippin balls for the whole afternoon!'

At Josh's house the answering machine clicked off and the only thing that moved was the smoke coming out of the barrel of the gun beside the body on the floor.
