Memories

John watched as the moving van drove away. He was tired and ready to collapse. He had just gotten out of Connecticut where he attended his mother's funeral and had moved into a small apartment in New York. He went over to the window and watched the cars busilly speed by in the night.
He thought about his mother for a bit. He loved her so much. When he had heard the news of her passing, he had wept uncontrollably. John thought about that horrible night for a second, and wiped a tear off his face. He went over to the pile of box's in his room that had been delivered by the moving van that he had yet to unpack. He opened the box labeled "nick-nacks" and scavanged through it. He pulled out an old video camera.
It had been his mother's. It had been used by her to record many of his childhood events, such as birthdays and such. His living room had partially been set up. His couch and TV were already in their positions that he intended them to be in.
Wanting to relax, John took the tape out of the camera, threw it into the VCR, and sat down on his couch. He watched his mothers recording of his 8th birthday for a few minutes before dozing off.
John woke up to the sound of his TV blasting static. He rubbed his eyes for a secound. Something seemed odd, or off. His attention zapped back to the TV when the static stopped. There was somebody lying on a couch on the TV screen, being videotaped from the left side of the sofa so that the couch was facing the left side of the screen. The person working the camera seemed to be looming over the couch. He focused harder on the screen.
The person on the screen wasn't a "somebody"... it was him.
He sat up fast. The John on the TV screen did the same.
"This is whats being videotaped now..." he said to himself.
Before he could glance to the left to see the person videotaping him, John heard his mother whisper "You were such a wonderful son."

The other residents on the seperate floors of the apartment building woke up suddenly to hear a man's screams echoing through the building.

2nd Scary Stories Thread

I didn't write these!

The Medic

In the winter of 1944, with overtaxed supply lines in the Ardennes, a medic in the German army had completely run out of plasma, bandages and antiseptic. During one particularly bad round of mortar fire, his encampment was a bloodbath. Those who survived claimed to have heard, above the screams and barked commands of their Lieutenant, someone cackling with almost girlish glee.

The medic had made his rounds during the fire, in almost complete darkness as he had so many times before, but never had he been this short on supplies. No matter. He would do his duty. He had always prided himself on his resourcefulness.

The bombardment moved to other ends of the line, and most men dropped off to sleep in the dark, still hours of the morning - New Year's Day, 1945. The men awoke at first light with screams. They discovered that their bandages were not typical bandages at all, but hunks and strips of human flesh. Several men had been given fresh blood transfusions, yet there had been no blood supplies available. Each treated man was almost completely covered, head-to-toe, with the maroon stain of blood.

The medic was found, sitting on an ammunition tin, staring off into space. When one man approached him, and tapped him on the shoulder, his tunic fell off to reveal that large patches of his skin, muscle, and sinew had been stripped from his torso and his body was almost completely dried of blood. In one hand was a scalpel, and in the other, a blood transfusion vial. None of the men treated for wounds that night, in that camp, saw the end of January, 1945.

The Watcher

A man went to a hotel and walked up to the front desk to check in. The woman at the desk gave him his key and told him that on the way to his room, there was a door with no number that was locked and no one was allowed in there. Especially no one should look inside the room, under any circumstances. So he followed the instructions of the woman at the front desk, going straight to his room, and going to bed. The next night his curiosity would not leave him alone about the room with no number on the door. He walked down the hall to the door and tried the handle. Sure enough it was locked. He bent down and looked through the wide keyhole. Cold air passed through it, chilling his eye. What he saw was a hotel bedroom, like his, and in the corner was a woman whose skin was completely white. She was leaning her head against the wall, facing away from the door. He stared in confusion for a while. He almost knocked on the door, out of curiosity, but decided not to. This disinclination saved his life. He crept away from the door and walked back to his room. The next day, he returned to the door and looked through the wide keyhole. This time, all he saw was redness. He couldn't make anything out besides a distinct red color, unmoving. Perhaps the inhabitants of the room knew he was spying the night before, and had blocked the keyhole with something red.

At this point he decided to consult the woman at the front desk for more information. She sighed and said, "Did you look through the keyhole?" The man told her that he had and she said, "Well, I might as well tell you the story. A long time ago, a man murdered his wife in that room, and her ghost haunts it. But these people were not ordinary. They were white all over, except for their eyes, which were red."

Border Crossing

There was a couple from Texas who was planning a weekend trip across the Mexican border for a shopping spree. At the last minute, their babysitter canceled, so they had to bring along their two year old son with them. They had been across the border for an hour when the boy got free and ran around the corner. The mother tried to find him, but he was missing. The mother found a police officer who told her to go to the gate and wait. Not really understanding the instructions, she did as she was told. About 45 minutes later, a Mexican man approached the border, carrying the boy. The mother ran to him, grateful that he had been found. When the man realized it was the boy's mother, he dropped him and ran. The police were waiting for him. The boy was dead, and in the 45 minutes he was missing, he had been cut open, all of his organs removed, and stuffed with bags of cocaine. The man was going to carry him across the border as if he were asleep.

Statues

A few years ago, a mother and father decided they needed a break, so they wanted to head out for a night on the town. They called their most trusted babysitter. When the babysitter arrived, the two children were already fast asleep in bed. So the babysitter just got to sit around and make sure everything was okay with the children. Later that night, the babysitter got bored and went to watch TV, but she couldn't watch it downstairs because they did not have cable downstairs (the parents didn't want children watching too much garbage). So, she called them and asked them if she could watch cable in the parent's room. Of course, the parents said it was Okay, but the babysitter had one final request... she asked if she could cover up the clown statue in the corner of the bedroom with a blanket or cloth because it freaked her out. The phone line was silent for a moment, and the father who was talking to the babysitter at the time said, "Take the children and get out of the house... we will call the police. We do not have a clown statue."

------------------------------------

Baby Doll

In rural southern Illinois a toy company began selling "realistic" baby dolls to expectant mothers. But apparently after the mother had her child the toy baby would start crying. Eventually the "rocking motion" advertised to calm it down wouldn't work, and you couldn't get it to stop without shaking it. Eventually when it started crying the parent would have to beat it, and the beatings and thrashings would have to get harder and harder to get it to be quiet. The only thing that seemed to shut the baby doll up permanently was the bash its head against the wall to destroy whatever mechanism triggered the crying. On more than one occasion though, neighbors called the authorities to report child abuse, and when the police arrived they found the the bloody remains of infants smeared across the walls and the floor. In most cases the mother couldn't understand why the police were there, she just "got rid of the stupid doll" as she rocked a baby-shaped object wrapped in a blanket.

True story:
A while ago, I was sleeping, and a loud "CRACK" woke me up. I turned and saw my attic door was flung open. There was this piece of metal connecting the wall to the door, and it was held to the wall by 2 screws, and a lock held the metal to the door. So I looked, and the screws were torn right out of the wall, and the door was wide open. Needless to say, I was freaked out.

I was riding home from school today on my bus, listening to music and not paying attention to anything. As we were stopping at one of the bus stops, a girl in the back started screaming. I looked back and saw her pointing out the window, and I followed her stare. Out in an unfenced yard were three guys. Two of them standing, one of them was on the ground, bloody. The taller of the two men had a baseball bat and was about ready to smash it into the downed man's head again, when the men realized a whole busload of kids was looking atthem. As the bus driver radioed in the 911 call, the other man, who hadn't been doing anything, took a pistol out of his pocket and shot the guy in the head. At this point, the whole bus was in shock and glued to the morbid scene. The two men got into a car and sped off. When I came home I was visibly shaken. I told my mom what I had just seen. Then she got scared and said, "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air." I whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said "FRESH" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought "Nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to the house about 7:00 or 8:00 and I yelled to the cabby, "Yo homes, smell ya later!" Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air.

In this world full of hate, will only come pain.
If your strong enough to step up against it, join me against it. If your not strong enough then I shall give you the releav of death.

This one happend to me.

8 years ago when i was 7 my family decided to a trip to the town of Coro(Note:All of this happend in the country Venezuela in South America. At the time the city of coro was having light probloms, and lights would go off at 12 each night. My mom had the idea to rent the house next to the graveyard I was scared because I was always used to see dead people all around me, but i had to put it up with. Once I enterd the house i became more quiet day by day. My mom got worried cause i woudlnt eat etheir. 1 night I heard my older brother talking with my cusen about a prank he was gonna pull on me. He was gonna pretend to be "El Silbon" which is an urban legend in south america about a man who has a peculiar whistle.
On the third night I woke up cause I had to go to the bathroom, it was raining really hard outside and their was also a lot of thunder. I saw an arm ontop of my body...i felt kinda heavy and numb, with a weird feeling inside. I saw footprints on the wall and cealing but i thought it was my imagiantion going wild. Suddenly i sence soemthing ontop of my body, I couldnt really see it, but it had the shape of an arm, and a normal size one, it felt cold...so i started to panic and turned on the lights, but i saw it was just the toy arm i bought on the way to the town. I was barefooted and puted my feet on the ground to walk. It was really cold...and i felt something liquid, but moshy, I saw a red tone on the floor, it was still dark but i though it was quabulated blood from someone. I got a flashlight, turned it up with my shaking and numb hand, and saw it was just cereal, jelly, and red food colorent. I got mad because i knew it was my older brother doing all this.
On my way out of the door, I started to hear I whistle, I gave a smirk in confidence cause I already though it was my older brother. I saw a shadow down on the bottom of the floor, but it didnt look like a shadow my brother would cast, it was taller, and thiner, and my brother had larg body mass. Even though taking that into consideration I went out. I didnt hear the whistle anymore, but the lights sarted to turn on, off, on ,off...the clock sounded louder for some reason, tick, tack tick tack, and the rain got heavier. Suddenly I saw a figure out on the street through the window about 2 and half meters of my doors. I started to hear the whistle again. I was petrified cause I knew it was not my brother.

The figure got closer towards the window, not walking, just appearing close in sincrony with the shine of the ightning. Suddenly the light went off. I coulnt see anything...but I heard a whistle close to me, inside the house. The house suddenly felt coulder and I coudlnt hear the clock. The lights off...on...off...on I saw the figure getting close to me. I started to pray while scare with my eyes close. But each time i opend them he was just closer, and the whistle was harder, my body became colder, almost felt dead. I kept praying but he just wouldnt go. I went down on my knees, crying, and close my eyes counting. One...t..two...th..t..three.. I opens my eyes but he was just their infront of me. I counted again Four..five...si.six..It didnt work cause he was still their. Then i gave it another try. Se..ven...eight..ni.n.ne..te.te..ten. I opend my eyes, and he was gone, my hands felt numb, and my face was coverd on tears.
Even though he didnt appear again for a while. I still heard his whistle when I was let by myself at home.

Death

There once was a purple dinosaur who had just had an affair on his wife. He went home to find her laying on the floor dead, with a note saying "I Baby Bop take my life out of the sorrow that you have caused me". After reading this chilling suicide note he called the person that he had had an affair on. As the affair heard the news he said "I'll meet you at McDonalds within the hour". So the purple dinsaur drives to McDonalds he sees the affair's Tie Fighter hovering in the parking lot. He then proceeds to park his car and walk over to the Tie Fighter to find Darth Vader dead in the driver's side. The purple dinosaur now in a state of shock walks into McDonalds and orders a Big Mac with extra meat. As he sits down a hooded figure walks in and sits down across from him. In a split second the hooded figure jumps across the table and stabs the purple donosaur five times in the face. He then pulles down his hood to reveal to Barney that he is BJ!! Barney musters out a why, and BJ says "because, you ate my sandwhich at work last thursday".

THE END.....

It's creepy enough that people stalk Bungie via Webcams, but it's even worse how they stalk back.

When Death met the philosopher, the philosopher said, rather excitedly: "At this point, you realise, I'm both dead and not dead."

There was a sigh from Death. Oh dear, one of those, he thought. This is going to be about quantum again. He hated dealing with philosophers. They always tried to wriggle out of it.

"You see," said the philosopher, while Death, motionless, watched the sands of his life drain through the hourglass, "everything is made of tiny particles, which have the strange property of being in many places at one time. But things made of tiny particles tend to stay in one place at one time, which does not seem right according to quantum theory. May I continue?"

YES, BUT NOT INDEFINITELY, said Death, EVERYTHING IS TRANSIENT. He did not take his gaze away from the tumbling sand.

"Well, then, if we agreed that there are an infinite number of universes, then the problem is solved! If there are an unlimited number of universes, this bed can be in millions of them, all at the same time!"

DOES IT MOVE?

"What?

Death nodded at the bed. CAN YOU FEEL IT MOVING? he said.

"No, because there are a million versions of me, too, And...here is the good bit ...in some of them I am not about to pass away! Anything is possible!"

Death tapped the handle of his scythe as he considered this.

AND YOUR POINT IS...?

"Well, I'm not exactly dying, correct? You are no longer such a certainty."

There was a sigh from Death. Space he thought. That was the trouble. It was never like this on worlds with everlastingly cloudy skies. But once humans saw all that space, their brains expanded to try and fill it up.

"No answer, eh?" said the dying philosopher. "Feel a bit old-fashioned, do we?"

THIS IS A CONUNDRUM CERTAINLY, said Death. Once they prayed, he thought. Mind you, he'd never been sure that prayer worked, either. He thought for a while. AND I SHALL ANSWER IT IN THIS MANNER, he added. YOU LOVE YOUR WIFE?

"What?"

THE LADY WHO HAS BEEN LOOKING AFTER YOU. YOU LOVE HER?

"Yes. Of course."

CAN YOU THINK OF ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE, WITHOUT YOUR PERSONAL HISTORY CHANGING IN ANY WAY YOU WOULD AT THIS MOMENT PICK UP A KNIFE AND STAB HER? said Death. FOR EXAMPLE?

"Certainly not!"

BUT YOUR THEORY SAYS THAT YOU MUST. IT IS EASILY POSSIBLE WITHIN THE PHYSICAL LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE, AND THEREFORE MUST HAPPEN, AND HAPPEN MANY TIMES. EVERY MOMENT IS A BILLION, BILLION MOMENTS, AND IN THOSE MOMENTS ALL THINGS THAT ARE POSSIBLE ARE INEVITABLE. ALL TIME SOONER OR LATER, BOILS DOWN TO A MOMENT.

"But of course we can make choices between-"

ARE THERE CHOICES? EVERYTHING THAT CAN HAPPEN, MUST HAPPEN. YOUR THEORY SAYS THAT FOR EVERY UNIVERSE THAT'S FORMED TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR 'NO', THERE MUST BE ONE TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR 'YES'. BUT YOU SAID YOU WOULD NEVER COMMIT MURDER. THE FABRIC OF THE COSMOS TREMBLES BEFORE YOUR TERRIBLE CERTAINTY. YOUR MORALITY BECOMES A FORCE AS STRONG AS GRAVITY. And, thought Death, space certainly has a lot to answer for.

"Was that sarcasm?"

ACTUALLY, NO. I AM IMPRESSED AND INTRIGUED, said Death. THE CONCEPT YOU PUT BEFORE ME PROVES THE EXISTENCE OF TWO HITHERTO MYTHICAL PLACES. SOMEWHERE, THERE IS A WORLD WHERE EVERYONE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE, THE MORAL CHOICE, THE CHOICE THAT MAXIMISED THE HAPPINESS OF THEIR FELLOW CREATURES, OF COURSE, THAT ALSO MEANS THAT SOMEWHERE ELSE IS THE SMOKING REMNANT OF THE WORLD WHERE THEY DID NOT ...

"Oh, come on! I know what you're implying, and I've never believed in any of that Heaven and Hell nonsense!"

The room was growing darker. The blue gleam along the edge of the reaper's scythe was becoming more obvious.

ASTONISHING, said Death. REALLY ASTONISHING. LET ME PUT FORWARD ANOTHER SUGGESTION: THAT YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A LUCKY SPECIES OF APE THAT IS TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITIES OF CREATION VIA A LANGUAGE THAT EVOLVED IN ORDER TO TELL ONE ANOTHER WHERE THE RIPE FRUIT WAS?

Fighting for breath, the philosopher managed to say: "Don't be silly."

THE REMARK WAS NOT INTENDED AS DEROGATORY, said Death. UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU HAVE ACHIEVED A GREAT DEAL.

"We've certainly escaped from outmoded superstitions!"

WELL DONE, said Death. THAT'S THE SPIRIT. I JUST WANTED TO CHECK.

He leaned forward.

AND ARE YOU AWARE OF THE THEORY THAT THE STATE OF SOME TINY PARTICLES IS INDETERMINATE UNTIL THE MOMENT THEY ARE OBSERVED? A CAT IN A BOX IS OFTEN MENTIONED.

"Oh, yes," said the philosopher.

GOOD, said Death. He got to his feet as the last of the light died, and smiled.

I SEE YOU...

I can't exactly remember where i heard this one from, but I found it pretty good. Not the scariest but good enough to scare my sister.

It was a snowy night where i was living and there was at least a foot of snow outside so i didnt really want to go out that night so i decided to stay in. I was sitting down at the computer in the conseventory at the back of my house. No one was in so i had my music reletively loud. Then something caught my attention in the corner of my eye. It was dark outside so i had to squint my eyes a lot and i thought i saw the outline of a man. I carried on looking and i lost it. So i turned back to my monitor and carried on. Again but five minutes later i saw it again but closer, i was sure there was somebody there, i looked to the floor and there were no footprints in the snow.

You can pretty much guess what happened next. Sorry if this is already on this tread but i felt like posting it :)

Life's a -blam!-, always testing you. All you got to do is get up from your desk, kick it in the balls and walk out of the class. Then you come back later, and pass the test.

Flash

One night when it was pouring down rain, but not a storm, I was trying to get to sleep. I saw a flash light up the room, thinking it was just lightning I went back to sleep. I woke sometime later seeing three more flashes. Again a few hours later to some more flashes. This happened all night long. In the morning I noticed an envelope on the kitchen bench addressed to me. I opened it and I saw many pictures of myself from outside my window, I froze with fear, a note slipped out from the envelope saying "That wasn't lightning"

These kind of stories scare me the most.

Lol that story was hilarious.

"If practice makes perfect" and 'nobody's perfect,' then what's the point of practice?"

A young girl was given a puppy as a present from her parents so it could keep her company when they went out of town for their jobs. The following week was typical, the parents went to work and the girl was left at home. She wasn't so lonely now that she has her new puppy.

One night she was watching T.V. only to be interrupted by a an emergency broadcast. The alert warned that a psychotic serial killer escaped from a prison not too far away. The instructions given by the alert was to lock all doors and windows.

After she secured all windows and doors to the house she locked herself in her room with her puppy and eventually fell asleep. She awoke with a dripping sound in her room and her puppy was missing. She reached for around the bed and felt something licking on her hand from underneath the bed. Relieved to know her puppy was okay she got up and looked for the source of the dripping. She listened carefully and tracked the sound. It came from her closet and when she went to check it she was struck with fear.

She saw her puppy mangled and hung from the ceiling and a message was written in its blood. It said...

"Humans can lick too."

My friend's sister frequently babysat. One night, she was watching three kids, whose parents were going to be out until about 2:00am. She fed the kids and then they watched some movies. Around 8:00pm, she put the two-year-old to bed. At 8:30, she put the four-year-old to bed and at 9:00, the eight-year old.

She was still hungry so she went back downstairs to make herself a sandwich. When she was almost done, she heard the eight-year-old crying and calling her name. She went upstairs to see what was wrong. When she got up there, the child said she was cold, so the babysitter looked around for another blanket.

As she was doing that, she noticed that the window was open. She thought she had closed all of them but didn't think anything else of it. She closed the window, gave the little girl another blanket, and checked the other windows in the other two children's rooms to make sure they were secure, and then went back downstairs.

When she went back to the kitchen, she noticed that her sandwich was gone. She just brushed it off and blamed it on the dog. She made herself another sandwich. Again, she heard crying, but this time it was the four-year-old. She went to his room, and he too said he was cold. She noticed the window was open again. She was worried this time because she knew she had locked it. She didn't want to scare the child so she just shut and locked it.

She returned downstairs and turned on the alarm system. When she went back to the kitchen, she discovered that her second sandwich was gone. She was really worried so she decided to call the cops. When she told them that her sandwiches were disappearing, they thought she was crazy. She then told them about the windows opening repeatedly and they said it was probably just the kids doing it. After she hung up, she made herself a third sandwich.

She soon heard the two-year-old crying and went up to see what was wrong. Her window was also open. At this point, she was very frightened, so she gathered all of the kids, the cordless phone, and took them into a pantry closet in the kitchen. She called the police again, saying that she was really scared because someone keeps opening the windows and stealing her sandwiches -- and it's not the kids. They told her not to be worried, that they would be over in a few minutes to check it out.

She hung up the phone and held onto the kids tightly. A few minutes later, she heard a noise in the kitchen, and saw the knob turning on the pantry door. She was about ready to scream when a cop opened the door. She asked why they came so fast. He had a worried look on his face and told them to get out of the house. He then told her that on the phone, he heard a double click.
