Halo: The Secret Flood
Now, this is a story about something true. I know you won't believe it, and I know you think the thing I just said is because I am about to tell you something paranormal, well I can tell you I'm not. And this is something I learned via something not really interesting until I thought about it.With something not real mixed in, also the part about the flood noises is true.
Now, on to the story, I was just playing Halo: Combat Evolved, for old times sake. Killing flood, my friend was over, and we were playing Multiplayer. Anyways, we had read online all the secrets about flood, like if you play their clips backwards, you can hear them say things like "I know your there" and "Come back".
But the one that interested us the most, was one about making a flood make a unique sound by hitting him in certain areas with certain weapons. We tried what the story described, (I won't tell you because I don't wan't you to make my same mistake). And the flood made a scream, like a scream of immense pain, and died. It was horrifying, not because it was something scary, it was just so painful sounding, and it sounded human regardless of the fact it was an elite combat form, it made us feel bad for liking to kill flood, and making them feel pain. I felt sadness, for what seemed like no reason. It was indeed a sad day. It was very sad. Bungie must have removed it because of how sad it made people feel, if flood could actually make such a sound by default, it would be immensly horrifying. As people would feel bad for the flood.
Me and my friend researched this sound online, but it turns out that the page about the easter egg was removed, it said that is violated the sites terms of service. Which made me confused. But, I also read something else that related to the noise, there was hidden, a secret flood that would say a commentary about the noise, and why it was removed, but could only be accessed on Halo: Custom Edition, because it was out of normal map bounds.
Needless to say... I tried it. And I am about to quote it.
"Hello, this is Chris Butcher, the lead designer at Bungie. We are sorry to have left the sound ingame, but out fans must know the truth. Our original intention for the flood, was to have them as failed experiments the covenant made, and there would only be human combat form, that is why the screams sounded human. We didn't like this idea, and scrapped it, along with the sound you heard. However, as a reward for finding this, we have unlocked a new gun. It is always instant kill, as a reward for the things you heard. After all, we did lose a team member when the sound was heard during beta testing *Sobs were heard* I'm sorry, I'm just so sorry."
After that the flood died instantly. I am confused to this very day about that event.
You got this from the "creepypasta" wiki.
