Game 1 - Grifball on Grifball Court
Tone of Game - Awkward
Have you ever gone to a party or other social event where you didn't know anyone there? How about a party where everyone had a giant hammer and even those on your team smashed you with said hammer? That was how our first match felt. The first few seconds of awkward silence, however, were broken by the screams of players being pulverized away from the bomb. Red team gained first possesion and continued with a quick score, and repeated twice more in a similar fashion, bringing the score to 3-0. The fourth round lasted much longer, however, as blue team was completely determined not to be smitten. After minutes of back and forth battling, blue team came through with a score. After a slightly shorter fifth round, blue team scored again, ending the game.
3-2, Red Team Wins

Game 2 - Team SWAT on Foundry
Tone of Game - Not to Regulation
As we came out of our Grifball game, we were all anxious to move on to game two. The only problem was that no one actually had the Team SWAT game saved. So I quickly set up Team SWAT rules from the Team Slayer game. It was all exactly like SWAT, except for the minor exception of leaving default weapons on. With that, it didn't take long before this exception was exploited through the use of rockets. The score, however, remained agonizingly close, with Blue Team leading by just a few kills. In the last couple minutes of the game, though, Blue Team was able to bring it together and expand their lead, winning them the game.
50-40, Blue Team Wins

Game 3 - Territories on Valhalla
Tone of Game - Suspenseful
The stakes where high in this game as it determined the winners for the 9th Community Carnage, and as such, everyone brought out their 'A' game. Blue team started on offense, and quickly captured territory 1. The round seemed to last an eternity untill finally they were able to time their attack right and get territory 2, bringing the score to 0-2. It was Red Team's turn, and they were able to match what Blue Team brought by also capturing two territories, tieing the game 2-2. It was Blue Team's turn again to attack, but either out of determination or just pure luck, Red Team was able to stop them from gaining more than one territory, giving Red Team a chance to win the game. Red team was up, and mixed things up by not capturing territory 1 immediatly, but instead rushed territory 2. They attempted to alternately capture territories 2 and 3, but failed each attempt. At some point someone decided to go ahead and get territory 1. In a final effort to win, someone on Red suggest that they just go to territory 2. Blue continued to have a rock solid defense up to the last minute, when Freik split from the rest of Red Team at the base, headed to Territory 3, and out of some miracle was able to get most all of Blue Team to follow him, leaving territory 2 open for the rest of Red Team to capture, winning the game.
4-3, Red Team Wins

Overall, it was a good match, despite our low level of participants, and I believe that all of us who did attend would agree it was lots of fun! I would also like to take this space to promote the Foundry variant we played as a "warm-up" game. Tilt is the most interesting Forge map I have played in a very long time. I believe this is a variant everyone should try atleast once just because of how original and how well built it is, not to mention what it does to your head!
