Subject: Bungie.net doesn't work with IE8

Frank O'Connor is a 12-year veteran of the videogame magazine industry and has therefore never worked an honest day in his life.

IE6 was buggy and an overall mess, but it loaded faster and ran better on XP and older computers, hence why schools still use it.

I believe that's the tech that Adobe contributed to make their interpreted script engine run faster... I guess it isn't surprising that they're waiting until version 4 to do such a major overhaul. It will take a while to do that.

ahh...found the 2 features for Firefox 4 that will make it run better.
feature 1
feature 2

You would be right. I just finished reading some mailing list and forum topics on the subject and it's going to take alot of work. Hence why they are going to release a 3.5 instead of skipping over to 4. The roadmap is set for mid to late 2009 for 4.0

Firefox 2's script engine is just not very fast, and it is a gigantic memory hog that will eventually crash if you leave it running. It is mostly a good browser otherwise, but the script engine and memory are deal breakers for me personally.

I hear Firefox 3 is much better in the memory usage dept., but I don't know if the script engine is any faster. Bungie.net uses a LOT of javascript.
