I think Bungie should incorporate the ability to jump, duck and roll, in order to avoid explosions! It would be a new ability that is unlike any other FPS and would help to set the standard for future FPS even higher! But it would not just for avoiding explosions, it would also come in handy when you would try to avoid being hit by a vehicle or getting out of the way of gun fire quickly!

Marines and Elites use it quite often if a grenade is thrown towards them! And it is quite successful when used properly! If this is something that the AI already have. I don't see why the AI should have any advantage on you! Isn't bungie is all about balance anyway?

Also the prone position (Laying down) would come in handy while sniping! It would make you a smaller target, making it harder for an enemy to spot you and harder to hit! Running around and racking up the kills is a lot of fun, but camping and covering certain areas of the map is a good strategy too.

Also to support my idea, two marines in the Halo 2 E3 presentation of 2003 were in the prone position! So is this another AI advantage or another option/ability?!

the spotter sniper team you were talking about were in a cutscene and besides like you said, the ai can do stuff we cant. being able to go prone would be cool, i guess they would use down on the D-pad, but i think that peeking around corners will be the left and right on the D-pad, so i dont know what we would press to roll dodge, and how would that look in first person? i guess it would zoom out to third until you were on your feet again

It's a good idea, but since it is a FIRST PERSON shooter, it would be kind of disorienting. Plus, grenades don't explode for a couple of seconds, so you can usually run away from them without getting hurt. You probably won't have time to duck and roll if your enemy has a rocket launcher though.

If they gave me the option to go prone then watch out if your on the other team! I would just be fine with croutching not having to hold down the stick

If we get this and leaning and sprinting and all this other crap, were gonna need new controllers. Too much stuff will clog halo 2 up.

I think if you can implement this new ability without making it a hassle to the player to pull off the move, then it should be put in the game! A lot of you make it sound like avoiding a grenade is the easiest thing! Just keep running? Doesn't always work. And when it comes to avoid getting run over by a ghost, most of the time you can only duck or jump! And those options don't also help. Especially when you are on flat ground, most of the time RESPOND ground! I am just tired of people doing respond kills with their ghost! No matter how good you are at halo, you can rarely avoid them if you are too far away from cover!

They should let you just click L3 to crouch instead of having to hold it down.

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

From OXM your be the judge poetic liscense or do they know something.

If you're staring doewn the turret of a Scorpian Tank you'll have to play matador and lure it to a more manageable speed with some rolling and dodging.

Personal opinion if there is rolling and dodging it should be automatic to if you are moving sideways and jump you roll. No need to roll forward you can just sprint.

No I don't want those things, I was just making suggestions. I know there are other abilities that are out there that I haven't thought of yet! So I was just asking if anyone had any other ideas. Other then dancing! Even though that would be fun, dancing over your dead foes, it would something else to do then humping!

If you could dance, do you imagine how that would affect Red Vs. Blue?

For the benefit of 'The Doctor', in Halo 2 there will no longer be a need to duck and jump out of the way from ghosts and warthogs, because there is the boarding manouvere.

So your saying that a vehicle coming at full speed can be boarded? I think not. And if the vehicle was going slow enough to board, you could easily dodge it, see how you would have to run up to it to board it.

plus he jumps a little higher, in the multiplayer demonstration he jumps over the ghost(and does he ever jump high!).

i think that the rolling ability would work like this (if it would ever exist in a halo game). You would rather have to do some kind of double jump or jump while you are standing or sitting in a leaning position.

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

I had considered this.. Something similar to UT's dodge move - Where you double tap the directional sticks in one direction to evade quickly to the right or left.

I tried to think about a roll, similar to the Marines and Elites maneuvers in campaign, and what would happen if it was added to single and multi - And I saw a whole lot of rolling going on. Do you think it would be overused?

Vehicle Boarding isn't as easy as they make it look! The vehicle had to be close and be moving slow enough to board it! Or else you get caught by the primary guns, get run over or the ghost gets away!

An ability like this would help you maneuver and stay alive longer! And unlike some people! I like to have fewest deaths while leading in kills! Your not all that if you have a 2 to 1 kill ratio!

Maybe in slayer survival is as important. But when it comes capture the flag and skull, when you don't have anything to defend yourself but a melee attack. This new ability would really come in handy!

PS. Just another thought. Think there will be multiple melee attacks with the flag and skull?

I think the game would turn into Halo bowling.
