I think that too many people ASSume that everyone can afford xbox live, and all the extra bells and whistles that one would need to properly enjoy Halo 2 online...but unfortunately that's not the case, and so there will be a -blam!-load of skilled players that will forever go unknown...how F'n sad, and that sucks huh?...Well on the bright side, one could always go to a friends house I guess.

Give me some feedback Soldiers!

Well, I probably could right after Christmas, but I might not. There is a way that you can play Halo online, but it's not on XBox Live. You just have to hook your Box up to the comp and start the thing, pick a game, and start playing. It's probably not as good as Live cause they don't have all the extra stuff (headsets and stuff), but it's still online. Plus, My friends and I will be too busy having LAN parties anyway for the first 4 months. Maybe after that.

i don't think the xbox live is a problem for most people because it comes with some games as a trial 2 month thing but the problem for most is either the computer that thaey are on or the internet conection.

personaly i would like xbox live but my computer is so slow because it is simply so old and hence i have a high ping (ping causes lag) but i do have cable internet it is simply my computer is just that bad that it would cause more problems than it is worth

It is people like you who get me pissed off. You read the first post. Some people can't afford to have LIVE! or they can afford it but Broadband is not availiable in there area. I will get LIVE! but I won't brag about and say if you can't afford LIVE! your sad like you did. You are just plain rude. You should think things through about all the possibilites. Maybe he couldn't get LIVE! because of a death in the family right now(like me but i am getting it later) or maybe he just doesn't want it becuase he doesn't need it because he HAS FRIENDS. Unlike you probably with that adittude. So stop being rude.

I will not. I need to get the xbox first, and then will get live when Halo2 comes around... Also will need wireless internet router for the broadband connection. But that is ok since this game is gonna be awesome.

Thanx Swoosh13! Way to have my back. and Yes I will be getting xbox live and representing with all of you great players out there on halo 2 (and other games) after I take care of some other money matters, but that won't be until later...I don't know about everyone else here but I have my own place, and don't live under mommy and daddy and I have bills to stay on top of, so goes the life of the kid at heart.

P.S.
Lan parties rock because you get to see the pain of your chumps up close, heehee!...and, anyone else live in Pasadena California? Pas rox!

While I realize that Broadband is expensive and not in every area; If you have broadband then there should be no reason u cant have Live. Live costs $50, which is the same amount as the Xbox Games. Saying u cant afford teh $50 is also saying u cant afford the games, so u dont need Live anyways.

i have the sadest story to be told:
i have a really bad computer with really bad internet and no way for system link and no starter for xbox live all because of my parents not getting any better equipment, so i have to live not on xbox live, not on system link but on old fashion 4 player.

btw, do you really need a "hopper" to do system link along with the system link cord, the second copy of the game your going to play, the second tv, and the second xbox?

dude that sucks. I've heard of stories of people going to internet cafes and libraries and stuff with their xboxes. The cafe near me supports Xbox Live and system link and stuff. U should try that if there is one near u.

Hey hawkeye707 since you seem to have answers and numbers, maybe you could tell us what a person who doesn't have a computer should do to get started (including prices).

You dont need a computer for Xbox live, u just need a broadband connection. The computer helps tho, if u want things like Xbox MSN or what not. But that stuff is just extraneous.
