Its a free program which tricks ur Xbox into thinking its playing on a system link game, and technically it is, but the link is over the nation.

I won't have xbox live. I'm not getting it because it's expensive ( router + subsription + extra broadband=5EUR/month) and because I think I already put enough time in gaming - with a live account I would want to play as much as possible because I would pay for it per year - and because I plan to invite my friends more so they can actually develop skills and participate in multiplayer games (and LAN games). Sure, it can be painful to miss out on some great DLC (which is sometimes to be paid for, BTW), but generally, it doesn't extend the game's life for a very long time anyway, so I don't see Live as a necessity. I enjoyed playing on my xbox before Live existed and I will keep enjoying it at its fullest, even without Live.

Xbox Live expires? Does this mean you have to buy Xbox Live over again?

Listen, here is what you do: Go to a store that sells xbox stuff, purchase an xbox live starter kit. Then, plug the broadband ethernet cord into your xbox and make sure you have no discs in your xbox, then go to xbox live, and follow the instructions, its not difficult. Make sure you dont throw away anything from from your starter kit, bcuz it might have the passcode on it

Your pc is not involved in xbox live, just get like a 50 foot long ethernet cable, plug it into your router and plug the other end into the xbox

Broadband should work fine. Go out and buy the Xbox Live starter kit, install it, and yadda yadda. Then get a game which supports Xbox Live, log on, and play. Starter Kits cost $50 and come with the installation guide, cd, and headset, and 1 year free Xbox Live.

I dont even have an xbox but my best friend does and and i go there alot.
but anyway... For him to get broad band it would cost $500 up front to install it (he lives several miles out of town) and then $65 a month just for the dsl which is 150K (actually slower), and there aren't enough people with xbox's to have a lan party

so is life in a small ( pop. 650) town.

but thats what bots are for. :) (i hope)
