...And miles to go before I sleep.

Avalanche looks great! The heart of Sidewinder with a touch of Containment and a whole lot of brand new love! I couldn't be happier with it. Really, its beautiful to see and is going to be an absolute delight to play. If there was a little log cabin in the corner, I'd live there.

Honestly, the landscape is not that much different from Algoma right now, just outside my window. No Forunner structures, of course ( that we know of...cue ominous music ).

I will be mailing out Microsoft Points Cards to my nephews a.s.a.p. Thank you Bungie,eh! Its Big Thick Frosty and Delicious, just like Canada. Tres Bien!!

...And miles to go before I sleep.

I've noticed that in a few posts, there has been some grousing about paying 800 pts for new maps. I don't mind in the least.

H3 as shipped is a complete game; actually much more than simply complete. New content in the form of new multi maps is very much additional content for further play, not just enhancing existing play, like new weapons etc..

New maps represent a lot of creative work. Even "old reworked" maps are totally new creative processes requiring a great deal of love, labour and effort. The inspiration may have been a past favorite, but it is all new work.

Good work dosn't come easy and it sure ain't free. Yes, Bungie made a great return on H3 (and H2 and H CE...I sense a pattern there.) and they certainly deserved it, every dime. After all, H3 is a complete game. They also deserve to be rewarded for their further effort if the customer choses to buy.

Frankly, 800 pts is very cheap..about the cost of a movie ticket or a Happy Meal. The real love is that they are willing to give away past maps. They do care.

Finally, the botttom line is that if they did not sell new content, there would be little business incentive to produce new content. Video games are a business. A creative and artfull business, but a business nevertheless, like movies, music and literature. Without the cash coming in, not much can be found coming out.

I really like Halo. I want to have as much of the game as I can (I only wish that I played it better). If it costs me a few bucks to have more then I will gladly pay it. If it is profitable, then I am sure that Bungie will find it attractive to crank out a few more maps. After all, its what they like to do.

PS..and oh yeah; Playlists, Updates and Websites cost money too. Bungie has already provided an awful lot of free additional content. Buy the maps! It encourages them.

Awesome! But "no ladders in mp maps since halo 1"? What about waterworks in Halo 2? I believe there are one or two ladders in the center of the map.. Just saying. No need to hate me for my believes

  • 03.22.2008 9:48 AM PDT

definately looks cool, When they were saying they were going to make a huge map i figured it would be original, but this seems way better.

*Note: larz bakken said that ladders havent been used in halo's multiplayer since halo 1, but in Waterworks in halo 2, there was a ladder in the middle of the map on the bottom bridge.

Exactly what i said and there was even one on the map with the golden warthog on the wall on the big huge door its really small but it works : )

  • 03.22.2008 2:23 PM PDT

Fun fact: While these people tend to use the term leet, or "1337" to describe something elite (or really, really cool) it really means "I'm a dumbass who doesn't know how to write in English. Please kill me."

It looks suspiciously a lot like containment to me...............

YESS

I have finals tomorrow and was just about to go to bed and BAM! Confirmed. Now if we get Lockout I will send Bungie a million free cheezeburgers
I've seen Lockout on Halo 3. But it was made in Forge on Foundry. Still awsome even though you couldn't fall to your death.

IN the post it says they haven't had latter's since halo 1 however for those of you who have played on waterworks in halo 2 where the sword is there are 2 latter's. I just felt i needed to say that.
