Let this thread die already. Everyday you make a new post in it bringing it back up to the front page, but its obvious no one else wants to post in it. If people wanted to post in it, they would. Just stop bumping it.

I probably post in the thread once a week or so. The thread's over a year old, if I placed a post every day, it'd be full of my replies. I'm not the only one to bring it back, and if I come back to it and see people have replied, I'll talk back. I feel this thread brings back the true meaning of threads. Forums are meant to be forums, not chat rooms. True threads aren't suppose to die 10 minutes after they're made. They're made to have constant communication, even be it a few days laster in between posts. I feel that my thread is very helpful. If only the replies could mimic the ammount of messages I get. People have many questions, and I do my best to answer them. I wish they'd ask them here so that I can answer multiple poeple at once, but oh well.

Lol sorry. Every time I sign in I have about 12 new friend requests so I just go through and delete them, or just ignore them. If anyone really wants to be my friend, include a voice or text with the request so I know why, other than that, they're just another face in the crowd.

It absolutely helps. Here's what you gotta do- Keep some friends who are worse than you, but try to keep many friends who are better than you.

You will learn new things from those who are better than you, but you can try new things on those who are worse than you. You can even tell those worse friends that it's better for them to have you on their friends list for the same reason you keep people on your friends list who are better than you.

Back a while ago, I paid Soldier 187 from Team Classic to give me some one on one lessons, and I'll always remember what he said.

We were in matchmaking lobby, and he went over to team doubles playlist and said "Dont play this." then he went to team slayer playlist and said "Dont play this." then he went to MLG playlist and said "Play this, and only this. You will get better so fast when you have to focus on the BR constantly. Now, I dont want you to completely forget the other playlists. He only told me that because I was serious about entering into competitive play.

So I focussed on it for a long time, and then he introduced me to GameBattles. If you want real competition, play GameBattles. It may seem confusing, but you'll get used to it, and as you progress through the ranks, you meet serious competition, and the only way to improve is to play against people who are better than you. You'll learn new strategies, strafing techniques, team shots, etc. If you have the cash, play in a bracket that requires an entry fee. This weeds out all those who are there to screw around.

Well, this friday I'll be driving down to Secaucus, New Jersey for the 2009 MLG Meadowlands event. I'll be sure to take pictures and let you guys know how we did.

Yeah, but I got a bunch of lower accounts that I use for teaching, that are low in MLG, so I can play on those.

I think I'm a 14 in MLG but I don't have a team and going into that playlist without a team is suicide. The amount of people who quit, screama t you for not being as "Pro" as them and generally act like morons in the lobby are why MLG has a bad name on these forums.
In actuality the gameplay is usually alright and I prefer some of the map varients (like Construct, although it still doesn't feel right without the Sword) but after a while the gameplay really gets stale to me and I leave MLG alone for a few months.
That said I do think that playing MLG can help you improve, but more on an individual basis whereas other playlists such as BTB can foster some huge teamwork (the bigger BTB clans will pretty much stomp anyone who isn't in another huge BTB clan) and get team chemistry working. Not to say that MLG doesn't require teamwork - it does and the lack of radar is why it needs so much.

Anyway, random musing over. Any idea when you're gonna have the next video ready Shadow? I learned some nice stuff from the first one, particularly the jump on The Pit which lands you from spawn to Invis, I'd say that 99% of the time I'm the 1st person there in most matches since watching that.

Well, I'm in a slight pickel with that. Since my computer fried, I have no access to my saved videos until I buy my new one and salvage as much as possible from my old hard drive. So things are looking pretty glum.

So it's going to be a little while until I buy my new computer, but as soon as I do, I'll pump out episdoes 2 and 3 right after eachother.

Why wouldn't you use the sniper in high levels of anything, so you can let the other team get it and let them clutch you? lol...

I'm a 40 in everything right now besides MLG which I just deranked to a 39 because of bad randoms on my team, and 38 in objective because I just started playing it, and squad battle, and my tip to you is, play smart, control weapons and power ups.

edit..and when I say a 40, I mean between a 40-50.

Hey guys. Back from MLG Meadowlands 2009.

Man was it awesome. We left Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. and got there about 11:00 a.m. The Meadowlands Expo Center was packed outside waiting to sign in, and it was pouring! Here's a pic of me Saturday when it was sunny. First thing was first. We had to get our hotel room. Then we walked over to the Meadowlands sign in. As we finally got signed in, we walked into the expo center. Our first impressions were that it was going to be crazy.

We started over to the warm up area, and got ready, which mostly involved me finding my glasses, which are hard to find when I only need them for gaming. We got to scrim against Team Carbon for a bit, which totally rocked, even after I assassinated Soviet. Soon, we had to start into our matches.

After our first match, we went over to the Dr. Pepper station to watch Str8 Rippin. After their game, we got to mess around with Tsquared. He was even nice enough to sign my controller! After that, we had to make a stop over by the MLG store and talk to the ladies (dont laugh at my face. They made me laugh when the picture was taken!).

The next day, we hung out with Walshy for a bit. Then it was back to game time. Later, we met up with the Dr. Pepper girls, who ended up in the room next to us, which was cool. We became good friends. After that, it was time to head on over to the Dr. Pepper station to watch Str8 Rippin warm up for the main stage event Saturday night.

Now, it was time to head on over to the Main Stage. First up was Pure Talent vs. The Riot. PT ended it quickly. After that, Str8 Rippin took the stage. I was on the floor on Red Team's (str8) side. After T2 threw out some tshirts, they sat down and got ready to play. The games started, and the fight got head. Str8 took the first two games in stride, making the score 2-0 in favor of Str8 Rippin. Then, things went downhill, and Believe The Hype came back and won the next 3 games in a row, giving them the win.

Next up was Instict, lead by team captain, Walshy. After some crazy applause, and some funny trash talking, Instinct sat down and got to work. Everyone was sure that a match between Final Boss and Instict was going to be good. The game was theirs in no time, even though Victory X was on his game.

We left on Sunday around 2:00 after we got some practice games in, and made it home in time to watch Triggers Down take the Meadowlands title.

Crazy weekend. Cant wait for Columbus.

EDIT: I found a video on youtube with me in it. Try to follow me here. I am on the ground, on Walshy's right, to the left of the guy in the red shirt. I have a blue shirt on. You can see me at 3:12 in this video.

Doctor Per

nice tips man. Glad to see you had fun at Meadows, I really really want to go to an MLG event and just watch and play a few games for fun.

In terms of the tips, I really admire the fact that you were well into your brig grade 2 and got a 50. I really, really want to nab a 50 but I've almost been too scared to play doubles, which has a stagnant 46. I am a recruit in it, and I've played 2 games since the update (1 loss sent me to 45, a win back to 46). I stopped after that, and I've been trying to improve my BR. I used to play halo a lot, but I've only recently started to get back into it. I will probably be playing MLG (18 in it right now) trying to work on my BR so I can snag that 50 in dubs.

I noticed in your original post TC Legend's 2V2 on the pit. He plays sooo much differently than I do. Much more aggressive. He started the game out and got the quick jump on the camo. It would be rare for me to even encroach that territory . I would sit outside green box nading because I'd be scared of dying by going directly for camo. Not only did he get it, he immediately went out with it and got the double kill. Of course, I couldn't do that right now. (he 4 shotted the first dude and the 2nd guy was weak from rocket hall).

I have aggressiveness in all the wrong ways, it seems. I rush and follow kills too much and don't use numbers to my advantage.

Anyways, i'm rambling. Nice tips, and seeing that a guy with similar stats to mine got a 50 makes me have some hope. One question though: do you think I should play doubles tonight, or MLG? I want to try doubles but I'm not sure I'm ready to risk the 46 again :P

edit: played a good amount of MLG then played dubs. my BR was somewhat below par in MLG but when I did dubs I did pretty well! soldier's tip was pretty nice. I'll continue to play MLG. in dubs, won the first match, partied up with the guy and we won 4 straight before his gf wanted to play. played social but my xbox started to click and whirr LOUDLY. I am scared :(

Yeah, whenever I need to warm up my BR, I usually jump in a couple MLG matches, launch up some MLG FFA on MLG Guardian FFA with some friends. It's straight BR's, no camo or sniper, so it helps warm you up. Also, going into Team Slayer and vetoing until it's Team BR's is great as well, then I just only use the BR. Since many people will be using AR's, it's easier to concentrate on your BR and 4-shotting before you have to go under pressure where the opponent has a BR as well.

Yeah, I had the same problem with chasing kills. What I eventually did was just go into theater mode, and went to my opponents point of view, and would see how bad of a position I put myself in. After a while, I just learned to let them go and not push forward until my team was set up.

As for your xbox... I know what you mean. I recently bought the new Resident Evil 5 edition Xbox 360 Elite. My old one seemed to be on it's last lick, so I was sure to preorder myself a new one when I was at work. If things get too bad, you may want to look into getting a new one yourself :P

Most definitely. It definitely takes some serious skill, but I'll try to help out as much as I can :).

I just want to remind everyone that I have put my tips, along with a series of other tricks to be featured in my video series, to the test on multiple accounts to see how they work in each instance.

I tested them in Team Slayer on my main account, SHADOWSTRIKE1, which is where I got my first 50.

I tested these tips on Team Doubles, under my Digita1Ph33r account, and they proved successful, landing me a 50 in that playlist.

I tested my tips on my My Tips To Reach 50 account, and went into the Lone Wolves playlist. I recieved a 50 in that playlist shortly, and I am working grabbing a 50 in doubles on it as well.

Note: These second accounts, along with my other unnamed accounts started out as accounts in which I would give 1 on 1 lessons on, until they grew to too high a level to teach lower skilled players, in which case I leveled them up to 50. None of these accounts played with "negative exp boosting" accounts, or any other type of boosting account, for that matter. In fact, I played with my other level 50 friend to attract higher leveled competition.

I would like to remind everybody that I do NOT sell level 50 accounts, as I find that practice pointless. Enjoy your trip down the road to level 50. Earn it. Dont send me messages offering me $70 and Microsoft points and all that. I wont respond.

Let's not do this now.

A thread doesn't have a life, it's not supposed to end after a certain ammount of time and based of posts. This one is helpful to a lot of people. If you don't like it being bumped up here, don't support it by posting in it. That will just bump it up once more.
