Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphors have two parts : form and interpretation; of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom being the briocoleus, the mason.

Rank is arbitrary in games, especially ones based off of the trueskill system, they do not say how good you are as a player, they only speak for as many games you win. A day will come when a perfect ranking system is used, one that can tell of how good a sniper you are or how well you can be tactical, but even when that day comes a rank can still mean nothing, maybe not to all, but to some. Like Achronos has said himself plenty of times, the ranking system is nothing but a tool for matchmaking. My advice is to play games for gameplay, not for a rank, not for achivements, play it because it is fun, because the explosions are big and the headshots are juicy, if you can accomplish that you can regard yourself as a gamer, if not well, you are really just wasting your time.

Clamor over your 5 stars, your 50, but in the pregame lobby, I will be laughing.

it's stories like this that keep my confidence up. i've become kind of distraught about getting my 50 because I'm a brigadier grade 2. I have 6 exp in doubles (havent played any dubs really on my main account). I've just been playing MLG to get my BR better and it's helped a lot.

Anyways, I really enjoy seeing brigadiers grade 2 or higher achieve 50. Congrats to you Nick. You and SHADOWSTRIKE1 are proof that all is not lost if you're a brigadier grade 2 or higher!

One question: should I go into doubles by myself or should I play with one of my teammates? I have 2 pretty good teammates that I'd say have great BRs but are poor decision makers. Because of that they die a lot but also get the most kills. It seems like when i go into dubs on my 2nd account (45 gunnery sergeant) that we find much better quality players, but when I go in alone it's a gamble, although the players as a whole are worse. Thoughts?

Go With Someone, If you go by yourself you can end up getting paired with a booster that would leave on you.Or they might suck (that's why they are boosting :P)

it's really a gamble going in by yourself. For doubles, I just hate going in by myself. My teammate and I run at about a 90% win/loss ratio when it comes to doubles. Thus, the game lists us as high-skilled doubles players. So, when I go in alone, the trueskill system has problems finding me a match. To speed things up, it seems I get matched with teammates of... questionable skill, against a couple of decent players. I guess it figures that my skill will equal it out. In the end, it goes with me scramblng to keep my teammate from dying and just getting frustrated, giving me an overall bad game experience. Sorry if that sounds like me just tooting my own horn.

There are advantages of going in alone, though. For instance, you'll be paired against a team of two random people as well, who haven't played together. Maybe even one doesn't have a mic or is in private chat, givng you an advantage. The only problem is, you run the same risk.

On a different note, I'll be running public 2v2 matches tomorrow for most of the day, so if someone and their preferred teammate feels like playing some games against myself and my teammate, I'll be running MLG 2v2 customs. Send me a message and I'll let you know if I'm open.

I feel like, this is exactly like i have been looking for.
And you are completly correct.
I got up to my 45 in Lone Wolves, and i'm well into a Brigadier Grade 2.
And i started playing Doubles.
I just can't find the right partner.
I am now a 36 in Doubles.
Great Tips, thank you for the advice.

U suk

Dude, thanks alot. im a 34 but 32 in LW, 25 in doubles, BUT i have two great pairings. So i dont know what to do... LW or TD? in doubles i seem to level up every game so... is that the way to go??? please help.

  • 08.05.2009 10:40 AM PDT

The main problem with this is that a lot of it should have been done before lvl 45, like the call outs and stuff.

Like the Tips, Lone Wolves is good for getting your 45. Then for your 50, you can go Doubles, Slayer, Swat, Snipers, MLG, but i Recommend Doubles or Slayer.

I'll send you a message later today. I'm gonna warm up in MLG or something for a while then I'll send you a message, it will be from Doctor Per. My teammate will probably be Doctor G0tti. I'm interested to see how we do in a 2v2 with two skilled 50s, it should be fun.
