Good tips bro.
Also, play more snipers. I've only ran into you like 3 times :P
I quite enjoy snipers, but it's always been a wierd thing to me... For instance, I can't stand maps like Valhalla and Sandtrap for snipers. I just don't enjoy snipers games that are long range... Sounds wierd, I know.
Another thing is that I'm either doing really good, or really bad. For some reason I have no middle ground...

Hey SHADOWSTRIKE10 how long did it take to get to 50 on your first account ??
I'm not sure the date, but I was around 1400 EXP when I grabbed my first 50 in Team Slayer.
did you get your 50 in TS with a team or yourself? I feel if I go in alone with my 48 maybe in a couple of wins i can get 49 and maybe in a few more get 50 but with a team it seems slower, even if you win.
A question i have is: as long as i get more wins than losses in TS eventually, over time I'll rank up right? or do I have to be like insane and never lose and get like 10+ wins in a row for it to rank up? How did it work for you? I know my trueskill in TS is very loose so either wining or losing can make my 48 change pretty easily, i'm not stuck at 48 I just win then lose and repeat keeping me equalized really. It's really competitive at that level so i have no clue how any one person can be that much better and constantly win enough to get 50 lol
My first 50 I recieved after I started getting a little serious in the MLG community. It was during this time that I met up with a bunch of players who attended events and such, and I got a really good experience of how different people play cooperatively. Eventually, I found out what worked for me, and with a makeshift team I threw together from the MLG boards, I pulled together a team and 3 of us reached our 50's in one exhausting night of serious gaming. We were a group of high-exp 48's, but we didn't give up hope.
After that, I started doing poorly after concentrating on Team Doubles, to get my 50 in that playlist. I eventually found it difficult to deal with that many players on the map, not to mention I was playing maps which I was unfamiliar with, as they didn't appear in Team Doubles.
Soon, I found myself droping back down to a 47, Sad, I know. So, I decided I'd just go in alone and see how things went. I soon realized that when you go in alone, a big advantage is that most of the time, the entire other team is comprised of players who went in alone. Now, this also means that your team all went in alone. Luckily, i was able to take advantage of the situation, and tried my best to control my teammates and play smart. Eventually, I was able to grab my 50 back by simply going in alone.
The thing is, the ranking system is trying to find where you belong. Even if you win more than you lose, the ranking system is going to try to find right where you belong, and try to keep you there to provide you with fair games. Hell, I'm running on a 77% win/loss ratio, which isn't the greatest. It's going to come down to what people you play, and how that turns out. Soooo many people will be matched up against a team of straight 50's, when they are just 47's or something. Normally, the room just fills with gloom and they start complaining about how the ranking system is so unfair. The TrueSkill system just threw you a bone. Bite it. If you play smart, you may catch the higher ranked team off-guard, or they may not be warmed up. If you pull a victory, it's going to look amazingly good for you team.
The way people can blast through the ranks falls under the same category of second accounts. I cannot stress to people enough that they should look at the bigger picture. Over time, you get better. Are you better than you were 3 months ago? Of course. So, try to leave one playlist fresh. Dont play it as often. Dont go in it with just any buddy. Dont go in it alone. Try not to play it for about a month. In that time, play Lone Wolves or some other playlist. Use this time to develope your skills. Then, go back to that fresh playlist, and you'll blast through the ranks.
How do second accounts work? People have gained their skills on their main accounts by playing for a while. When they start a new account, their Sigma is so wide that they can simply blast through the ranks. You can achieve this same occurance on your main account. You just have to keep one of your playlists serious. Now, if you've "soiled" your main playlists, you may have to think outside of the box, and choose a less popular playlist, such as Snipers.
Keep a playlist fresh. Develope major skills before damaging a playlist. Otherwise, you're looking at needing to consistantly win. In order to do so, chances are: you've got to sit the playlist out for a while and develope your skills further, and then come back. That's the point of this long post. You can ALWAYS improve. Be it the simplist trick or the most obvious assassination spot. You can ALWAYS improve.
