Great explaination , im a 50 in every playlist . i'd have to say the same .. 50s are easy if you have teamwork.

Great job on this guide dude! Unfortunately, I can't use the videos and I'm a 40, so Lone Wolves is still my best bet.

I'm going to need to get better, unless I want to see "Force Colonel" next to my name some day...

There is a program over at www.halo3timer.com which counts down weapon and power up spawns on your computer, and plays an audio file of the spawns at 30 seconds, 10 seconds, and spawn. VERY helpful to controll the match. Keep your speakers up and go to your TV. Start the program as the game starts, and you'll know when and where every powe weapon is.

really? is this necessary? can't you just use your innate skill (or lack thereof apparently) to determine when weapons will spawn?

In Lone Wolves, although it is really, really cheap: The way to win is to steal kills. Sorry, but it happens every match, and you'll find that the one who stays back with a BR and just headshots the two people going at eachother with no shields wins. Spam grenades in the more populated areas, such as the hammer spawn on Epitaph.

This is the worst guide to a 50 I have ever seen.

I who walk alone in this world wrapped in the arms of the past not knowing what lies ahead of me. What am I? A soulless being to be beaten by the rage of those who hate me? Cutting my way past hopes and dreams. Sit in the window sill as I do every day and night resignations on my slate of who I am and what is left behind. Concealed in the words that chases my every thought. I who walk alone in this world…I am broken

This is how i play i always call out when i know the call outs although there are some maps that i dont know the call outs for so i do my best with whats around me.And i did not know that about the SMGs i might try this out thank you for the awsome thread.

It's not necessary. It's for people who are new to timing weapons. If you attempted a shot at reading, you would have seen that I give an entire explanation of how to time weapons on the third page.

So Xxplicit (packmaster in clan nightwolves){Dire pack}-Halo3

in teams games, play aggressive but know when to back off..Dont chase, especially if you see a teammate heading where he is instead work at putting him one shot and callout to a teammate for the clean up..Dont be stingy as "You stole my kill!" its a team game as long as you win you will be fine!

If I have an HDMI cord, should I still replace it for a VGA?

VGA and HDMI are both derivatives of DVI, and it's hard to tell a difference in picture quality. In my experience, I've preferred the quality of VGA. Also, keep in mind that you can select different aspect ratios with your VGA cords. For example, MLG uses 1680x1050 video settings, which you will need VGA cords to have. The real use of HDMI cords are to have a smaller version of VGA/DVI... but as with other things, when you go smaller, you have to sacrifice quality. The idea behind it was practicality. Quality video and sound all in one small cord.

The actual battle of "which is better" is debated over and over. Keep this in mind tho- MLG has the option of using HDMI cords, but they prefer VGA. Why would that be?

I'll always back the VGA cord.

Google around for some info. Here's a thread about the difference between VGA, Component, and HDMI.

I suggest starting there.

Very Helpful, but the draw back on the smg can be a serious draw to ppl that play on a high sensitivity such has 7 or higher. And usally while 1v1'ing americans they most of the time win anyway while you are useing the smg wouldnt a more sutible weapon be a mauler has the are on most maps and have short respawn times

These are all good tips... but they are all tips I already use, the key is to find a good teammate in Team Doubles. I was a 50 on my old account and it expired so I decided to simply just buy a new account and start over with a new K/D ratio and winning percentage. Well long story short after a lot of games played, my teammates just are not good enough. My account was a one month named Realdonutslayer and my ratio was about 2.05 but I never got over a 44 due to bad friends. My doubles friend who helped me the first time has retired from halo pretty much for other games, so I am stuck with all crap teammates and am always matched up with betrayers, quitters or just generally bad people. My NEW name that I am working on is ELKsniper, through 89 ranked games I have a k/d of 2.21 and I think my highest rank is like a 23, even though I am 41-5 in Team Slayer playing with random teammates. I am a 13 in Team Doubles with a 12- 1 record, just coming off a loss that opened my eyes to my need of a better teammate.
So if anyone is interested in helping me send me a friend request to ELKsniper , or if anyone needs a 4th teammate on a good team for Slayer send me a request, I promise I can help any team if they are a BR style team.

Grey Arrow 2

Good Guide, and the majority of this info can help players. But it's also on the player's part too. The constantly have to be thinking and in-touch with the teammates. There's lots of key factors that go into a game, and if done well can help ensure a win.

Behind those controllers, we're all the same human beings.

Time LINE...? Ehh, time isn't made out of LINES. It is made out of circles. That is why clocks are round!

Warning: Big Post That Sucks.

Okay so I skimed through you multiple posts and read ones I actually found interested in. But now that ive read it I am still a pissed off Colonel...

You basically start off the thread by saying get to 45 in Lone Wolves then switch to doubles or team slayer. I really was most interested with your lone wolves advice though. So I read your firsts posts more detailed strategies thinking you were talking about lone wolves when all of a sudden team mates come into play. So I summed up your lone wolves advice up and it basically becomes whore power weapons, camp, and kill steal which I don't mind but it really isnt that helpful since its what I have been trying to do.

Now I would really like to become higher in Team Slayer and other playlists but I find my teammates aren't reliable at the low levels I am at in those playlists. But then again I could always bring in friends but frankly they aren't great either and I really cant get any good friends to play with me because good players tend to be dicks. So I end up being a crappy Colonel that gets flamed just for that reason. I am not a happy camper lol.

The reason I say play Lone Wolves until you're at least a 45 is because you will use this playlist as your "throwback" playlist, where you use it not necessarily to get a 50 in (as it is the hardest playlist), but moreso to develop your own skills as a player. The Lone Wolves playlist will give you constant action, which will make other playlists seem to slow down. Since it is a ranked playlist, more equally skilled players will be matched up, unlike Social playlists.

Remember, getting to a 50 is a long-term goal. Not something that can happen over night after reading a post online. The only thing I can do is steer you in the right direction, and hope that you will find your way to a 50, so you can feel fully satisfied with yourself, and not have to resort to a second account like many other players. Nothing feels like such a great accomplishment as when you reach 50 on your main account. Shows true dedication to the game, and believing in your skills as a gamer.

As far as the teammate thing goes, yes, it is going to be hard to reach 50 without teammates. I recommend playing some social games, and be on the look out for exceptionally good players. Make it a day of finding friends. As more games come out, people migrate away from Halo, and thus your choices of teammates diminish. That's why you need to be on constant lookout for new friends who can fill up the team spots. Also, sites such as mlgpro.com have forums to find teammates. You'll find the more seasoned players to be over there, and you'll probably find more desirable teammates there than on Bungie.net's "Classifieds" forum.

@UncivilAuto- there are no such things as modding and hacking in Halo 3. A modified console is immediately banned from Xbox LIVE. The only form of modification that hasn't been completely dealt with is Achievement Modding, which is Client-Side anyway. This means that while if you look at their profile in the game, Bungie.net and Xbox.com will show you that they do not in fact have such achievements. Those players will also be unable to unlock things such as Recon Armor, so really, what is more important? A cool new feature to unlock and play with, or a number that is blown out of proportion to have anybody care about anyway? I myself play a lot during the night simply because that's when lots of younger players have gone to bed, leaving me with older gamers to play against, and thus, a tougher challenge (OPINION).
