Very nice strategy, up until reading this I had been trying Team SWAT and got up to level 24 and pretty much gave up. One question though, in Lone Wolves do you level up only if you come in first place?
Or is it if you land in the top 3?
Lone Wolves is a tricky playlist. As best as I can describe it, as soon as the game begins, the TrueSkill system determines what position you SHOULD come in. If you do better than your projected place, your rank will increase, if you do worse, your rank will decrease, etc.
For instance, let's run a little hypothetical situation-
6 players enter the game-
Player 1 (Level 50, 6000 exp)
Player 2 (Level 47, 800 exp)
Player 3 (Level 48, 1000 exp)
Player 4 (Level 50, 300 exp)
Player 5 (Level 46, 500 exp)
Player 6 (Level 49, 1200 exp)
Now, of these players, the game projects this outcome-
1st Place- Player 1
2nd Place- Player 4
3rd Place- Player 6
4th Place- Player 3
5th Place- Player 2
6th Place- Player 5
These placements have been determined by a rough guess. Now, this is how the match REALLY turns out-
1st Place- Player 4 (second account 50)
2nd Place- Player 1 (50)
3rd Place- Player 2 (47)
4th Place- Player 3 (48)
5th Place- Player 6 (49)
6th Place- Player 5 (46)
Now, let's see how this breaks down-
Player 4 will improve his rank as he was projected to do worse. Player 1 will drop, but not by much as it is only 1 place down. Player 2 will rank up considerably as he jumped up 2 places. Player 3 WOULD normally stay the same as he ended up in his projected place, but since Player 2 was ranked lower, and placed higher than Player 3, Player 3 will go down very slightly. Player 6 will go down considerably, as he dropped down 2 places from his projected seat, and was beat by 2 people of lower rank. Player 6 will remain the same as he was projected for the last seat. Player 6 could only move up, but he did not.
Now, as for EXP, only the top 3 get awarded EXP. Lower ranked people tend to be thrown in with higher ranked players as "testers" to make sure that they "deserve" their rank. The real fight is going on between the top 3 or 4 seats. The bottom 2 are just there to shake things up.
