You sound like a cool gamer shadow strike but are you unfit? most highly skilled gamers I witness could not run a mile :\

Not gonna lie, I could definitely shave a few pounds, but beer and fraternities will do that to ya. But I am on our university's tennis team, played baseball in high school, and generally have decent health. I have a few buddies who I head to the gym with after classes every other day before I head home to get a good workout.

I posted a few pictures of me in my "About Me" section of my website-
www.shadowstrike1.net

The first pic is me about 8 months ago, and the pictures of me at Meadowlands were from over a year ago when I was a little heavier due to my dedication to playing Halo rather than doing any kind of workout.

For those looking to become a well-known player in something such as the MLG circuit, you gotta know that sponsors are looking for people who will be a good image, not some flabby slob.

You guys are the foundation that is holding our community, if it wasn't or you guys this game will be full of 6-10 year olds swearing vulgar language down the microphone and being non co-operative in games which needs team work and strategy which you have posted here.

Glad you liked it :) I appreciate your kind words.

There is a thread I have made for the Halo Reach forum. I have already made the first video of that series as well. It is called-

My Tips To Reach Onyx!

If you would like to know more about Mythic difficulty please go to this thread. Thank you.

Please do not send me "recruitment messages" as I'm not interested in joining any groups currently.

Been a while since I've been in this thread. I've improved a lot since last time and am now on the verge of getting a 45 in Team Slayer. Not bad considering that I play Ranked only on rare occasions. :-)

After some self assessment I'd say that the key things I need to improve on are:
Strafing
Sniping (my worst aspect)
Grenade placement.

What a coincidence- my next video, based on Reach, is going to be based on Strafing, grenade placement, and mastering the bloom.
As for your TS rank, congradulations :) let me know if you need help next time you're on and I'll jump in for a few games (unless I'm playing with the gf)

Thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind. My team's pretty solid currently and we get a ton of assists (as shown here and here) but having a random can sometimes offset things a little and I'd much rather trade a random going negative for you speaking and actually knowing the game. :-)

nice tips

im lvl 41 in LW, its just too hard lol. In team double I'm leveling up easily too, thanks to your tips.

But i dont think i can achieve lvl 50 before reach ^^'

(im not a noob , I'm totally capable of going 50. for instance, my last firefight i got 1086 kills, 362 of them was headshots)

  • 09.03.2010 7:58 AM PDT

dude your tips are really good. it's nice to see people willing to help the community. Im a 48 and want to get to fifty before reach is out. I believe i can do it know. thanks

  • 09.03.2010 10:37 AM PDT

you are so right about lone wolves... first thing i do is find a BR then find somewhere relatively safe with a god view and somewhere to retreat to. the game practically plays itself then

  • 09.03.2010 11:45 AM PDT

CoE. If you don't know what that means...

Well, thanks for the tips, but I don't think I'll be playing ranked anyway.

Just a notification: in the OP's first post, he often uses the abbreviation 'BR'. That's not in Reach. Just get used to saying 'DMR'.

EDIT: Ah. You fooled me with the capitalised words in the title. I thought you meant this to be a guide to reach the highest ranked position in Halo:Reach by giving tips from your experience in Halo 3.

for t3h lulz

Well I haven't been playing Xbox much anymore lately, so I was unhappy to find my aiming skills virtually gone when I tried playing Halo 3 again after about two weeks of hardly ever playing it. Normally, when I don't play for awhile I'll miraculously gain a new skill in the game I never had before - like better aim with a certain kind of weapon.

Now, I could blame my epic failures as of late on any number of things other than myself, but I'm not going to nerd rage about people being cheap - it was just me. I usually play with a sensitivity of 5, so maybe thats it. My aim's been really clumsy and jerky lately.

I only ever got to skill 35 - so I'm pretty much a mediocre player, as always. I win an average of 1 out of every 4 games, I think, and the majority of what I play is team games.

Now, in the last couple of months I've just noticed my skills in halo just slipping away. I used to be a decent player who got an amazing kill once in awhile. But that was back during the times when I actually got mad when playing Halo.

I don't let the game get me angry anymore, which I think is why I've gotten progressively worse and worse at the game in the last couple of months. I play casually now, instead of competitively - and I think that's where the problem lies.

As crazy as it sounds, I think I actually played better when I got mad. I would convince myself delusionally that the enemy team is super cheap and then I'd go on an angry rampage that would make our team win.

I think the reason that getting angry can help is that it gives you greater focus. You play more aggressively, shoving your way through the enemy team with a noobish weapon like an AR and somehow winning.

I just can't seem to get angry at Halo anymore, so I'm just going negative in K/D score all the time now, losing every single game, getting constant accidental betrayals, etc, etc. It's like my noob days have started all over again.

I tried doing some target practice on guardian with a BR on the birds flying around to get my aiming skills back - 1 out of every 12 shots hit a bird. I used to get 1 out of every 3.

Ironically, nerd rage can be a good thing.

I look forward to reach, because it seems like there was more strategy in the beta. New weapons with a different feeling to them - it was very refreshing to play. Perhaps another reason I'm playing horribly now in Halo 3 is because its gotten really repetitive. I don't expect I'll ever get a 50.

So what are your tips to beat the cheaters?Halo 3 has nothing but cheaters once you get to a certain level...and we pay for that?

  • 09.08.2010 2:42 PM PDT

Halo Reach isn't fu*ked up! You are!

How to reach 50:
Buy an aimbot and win 1,000,000 games in a row, and you'll be 49....
Only another 50,000 more consecutive games and you'll PROBABLY be halfway to 50! :D
That's possibly the easiest and quickest way...
I've won a total of 500,000,000,000 games, and lost only 79!
THANK YOU AIMBOT

Yes. I always recommend playing Lone Wolves to gain some skill and get to the 42-46 range first, and then jumping into Team Doubles, as you will have developed good skills.

In H1 through 3 the plasma sword meant something, now any Brute or Elite can 1 punch death you reguardless of shields, which makes the sword a prop in the hands of thick AI
Can no one beat the AI in FEAR & Bioshock 1..? you combine them you get the best AI ever

What's the deal with 50? I'm happy with my 11, it gets me to Lt.. once I win my lightswitch at least
