I've noticed lately that parts of the site bungie has are not being used to their full potential. Here are just a few places that I think could be a bit more active:

The Gallery Forum: Before Halo 3 came out I remember hearing when Halo 3 hit we would see the Gallery forum used a lot more. Whe have not seen anything new since the launch of the game.

The Voting Booth: What I don't understand is why this part of the site is not used for very popular forum topics as well as things that will help bungie. Bungie has this great feature. Why not use it?

Bungie Favorites: Lately Bungie has been going down hill with updating the Bungie Favorites page. From once a weekly updated page, this page is slowly become a complete waiste of space. What good is this page if it does not get an update (Plus some items do not even change when it is updated)? The community has tons of talent. But we don't get the chance to see it.

Bungie Publications: Still a very new site feature if bungie goes anywhere or has anything cool to show, bungie should remember to add it here.

The Bungie Podcast: The bungie podcast is an awsome show. It would be awsome to listen to the show even more often.

What I'm getting at is we keep requesting new features and getting them. But the features we already have are not be utilized. So I feel before we keep getting new features these features and more should be being used to the fullest.

I would like to see more from the Gallery Forum and Voting Booth.

While I agree that what you say is true. Also keep in mind that they are working on our new maps. While I know it doesn't take much time to upload things to the Bungiee favorites. Would you rather have them focus on the new maps, or decide what should be in the Bungie favorites? Since realize that while it might not take a long time to upload things they have to sort through THOUSANDS of gamertags to find things they deem "Bungie Favorites" worthy.

I might not know the half of it but while the site not being fully used may be seen as lost potential. They also have a lot of things they have to focus on.

Edit: Also the "Bungie's Favorites" was just an example I used. I didn't want to branch off into everything.

Even while working on new maps there should be ample time for them to browse and deem favorites. Come on. The game is made. I am not discrediting what they are working on right now or deeming it less important but it would be nice to see some changes being made.

While this is true this isn't exactly what I am saying. What I mean is we keep requesting new features and getting them. But the features we already have are not be utilized. So I feel before we keep getting new features these features and more should be being used to the fullest.

This is true and the community also helps find much better pics, maps, and more by creating large amounts of posts in one thread based off a map or picture.

A new Poll in the voting booth would be cool.

Suggestions anyone?

Lockout

Headlong
Terminal

Exactly... Before adding new features they need to utilize the old or rid themselves of it all together. It makes little sense to come up with New FLASHY features that will eventually end up neglected due to Newer FLASHIER features.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

well, the gallery forum has been outdone by the screenshots forum.... BUT it would be cool to be able to make captions again.

There are plenty of poll questions bungie could use

Ex:
After the release of the new map pack:

Q: Which version of the Hornet is your favorite?

* The Origional Version
* The Avalanche Version
* I don't like the Hornet

obviously this would be later on. But it is a prime example of what bungie could do with the classifieds.

I was just about to ask this. Its true a lot of these other forums aren't used often and should. But that mainly be due to lack of people even being aware of the other forums or they just don't bother with them.

Oh and what is a Webcam MVP. Just PM anybody who can tell me.

Nevermind, i just read the post about member rankings.

Well you never made your point truly clear( if you did I didn't read it well enough). Regardless we do have A LOT of members, and we know Bungie tries to please them all, but sometimes the requests that get granted don't get used( like your saying).

I do agree with your whole paragraph though, but( this goes to Saint of Taint) when I mentioned the new maps I didn't mean to say it like that was all their working on/with. They get a lot of complaints, e-mails, suggestions, challenges, bugs reported, things that need fixing, and a lot of other thing to deal with.

Also while updating the Favorites doesn't take a lot of effort, like I said they have a lot of registered G-tags to look through. Could you check all of those in a week alone. No, but Bungie does manage to. Most likely they use their free time to go through our files( also remember some have 24 slots if they subscribed to Pro) so it can take a while.

Back on topic with the site. I think for now we should not add any new forums till we can utilize the already existing one. It will take a bit though, like I've been constantly saying Bungie does have their hands full with a whole bunch of things.

I am sorry I was not clear earlier. But I disagree that it takes that long to find stuff for bungie favorites. A majority of the threads that are favorite worthy the community has basically highlighted on for bungie. Yes it is tuff. But it isn't something that takes a long time to accomplish.

I stick to what I said, more likely because I can claim ignorance to the process. If your right though that it doesn't take a while, then sorry I don't know much about how it works.

Like you said, bungie doesn't have the time do everything. So they don't go through 10,000 users. They look up the most popular file forum topics (as well as items from other bungie employees and friends) and that is where the best favorites material is usually located.

[...o,o...o,O...O,O...( ),( )...*KABLOOYEE*...]

At the end of the war. Nothing remains but a few Spartans. We are the only ones left. We are the Last Defence.

As someone said earlier the screenshot forum has overtaken it. Since Bungie hasn't released what their new project is or where they are going with it, they really can't have any pictures to post for us.

I don't think anyone cared much for the voting booth. People have just been making polls in the H3 forums and such anyways. The voting can be askew too with people using multiple accounts. In terms of using it as feedback for their decisions or idea, they benefit much more by just making official threads of discussion where people can do more than say yes or no.

I really don't get why people are bashing the Bungie favorites. It is even more annoying that people are oblivious to the fact of what its purpose is. To show interesting stuff from what the community has created. If you even keep up with the screenshots forum for example, there aren't many exciting and new things that come through. Frankly, all the pieces i find cool are most of the time on the favs. The community has to make cool stuff for it to be on the favs. Yea we all have our own criteria for cool, but if it is liked by lots of people then i think it'll find it's way onto the favs.

Bungie Publications: Still a very new site feature if bungie goes anywhere or has anything cool to show, bungie should remember to add it here.

The Bungie Podcast: The bungie podcast is an awsome show. It would be awsome to listen to the show even more often.

I think you were just trying to say something about these two features, just to say something about them. The first, of course they'll remember to add appropriate things to the publications feature. The second, of course, everyone wants more of a good thing if to them it is free. Sometimes there is a reason why some things are done a certain way.
