Well, no UNLESS you have IE, it's the only way for me. (Bungie's Website is a MUST ) Is MF your default browser? It's way to hard to explain, but go to your internet settings, then Tools, and then Options. In the General Menu, go down to the check-box that says something like "MF should check to see if it is the default broser" and then un-check it. CLOSE THE MF WINDOW. Then start up IE and go to Tools, then Internet Options. NOW at the top you'll see tabs; click the one that says Programs and then way down at the bottom (I spent HOURS trying to find all this stuff and actualy get it to work, you are lucky that I'm here for you :^>) check the box that says "Internet Explorer should ckeck to see if it is the default browser". CLOSE THE IE WINDOW. Now, the tricky part (Not for me; I've done it so many times, now I'm used to it) Click on the short-cut on your desktop for IE, then a message will pop up, click Yes I want this to be my Default browser then click at the bottom Don't show this again. Click OK. When your homepage pops up, close it. Now click the short-cut to MF, and a message will appear like the one mentioned above. Click no, I don't want MF to be my Default Browser, then at the bottom, don't show this message again. AGAIN, when the page pops up, Close it up. NOW THE TESTING PART. *Breathes heavily due to lack of blood in fingers* *Sighs before starting* Now, go to the run menu from your start menu. Type in a page like, http://www.google.cavis a good one. Your browser should automaticly go to Google through IE, not MF. If it does not work, try these steps again, they're tough. If they still don't work, try something along those lines. Fiddle around a bit. It won't hurt *Much* (Read the Blood in Fingers part above) OK, now I know this is to set it as your default browser, but it's all I can Help you with. I'M ONLY 11 YEARS OLD FOR PETE'S SAKE!!

And also, the thing about firefox and the wierd scrolling, is something to do with firefox. bungie.net works well on any other browser. And there are other browsers apart from IE. coughoperasneeze.

I know but I really like firefox its probably a microsoft thing/bungie to have there pages only work correctly in IE. I was firefox would release an extension for it.

It's a bug with Firefox. You're lucky you can scroll using the scrollwheel at all - that was yet another bug with Firefox that had to be dealt with.

Did anyone even READ my explination? Or is it to HARD for you adults? I AM ONLY 11 YEARS OLD! I tested and fiddled around with things from Mozzila Firefox, but nothing worked. Getting IE is the only way. And my explination helps ALOT. So, did anyone even read my post?

I know as an 11 year old you know everything and you are a guru when it comes to computers. But your statement didn't answer the question at all. They were asking about scrolling issues in firefox not how to change their default browser. Maybe that is why no one acknowledged your post.

You can't fix the scrolling problem, but there is a way to make viewing the site in IE from Firefox a little easier.

IEView
Basically, adds a button to the right-click menu to view the current page in IE.

If I wanted to use IE, I would have a long time ago. Seeing as your only 11, I'm sure you have no clue what Internet Security is, and how IE has none of it. Firefox on the other hand does not have that one fatal flaw, and personally I can live with the slow scrolling (for now) but I think Bungie should look into why this is happening. I think it honestly has something to do with that menu bar on the bottem. Possibly if you added the option to be able to turn that off then the site will work for MF users. Though it is cool, and I like the effect, I do believe THAT is what's causing the problem in Firefox, not necessarily a Firefox bug. If someone can just make it available to remove that thing if you so desire it, that would be cool with me.

If your meaning my thoughts about the menu graphic, it's simple. It's the only thing different that's not on any other website. I've never seen a website that has that feature. It's nice, yes, however I believe it's the one thing making the difference.

So it couldn't be that there are tons of smaller, behind-the-scenes differences on this site? I really doubt the scroll machine is the only thing different about this site.

It IS a Firefox thing, and NO it is not because it's a "Bungie is owned by Microsoft" thing. Firefox unfortunately doesn't do scrolling text over static backgrounds well (which is sort of the trick to get that fancy menu bar to stick at the bottom). I have seen many other sites where they make their backgrounds static (so they don't scroll with the page) and firefox always bogs down on those sites.

Yes, it does stink, cause I use firefox most of the time. I also use IEView when I need to (good call on that post). So until Firefox can get to and fix the issue you're kinda stuck with things (though good attempts have been made to get the site to work better in Firefox, and it does work better now than it used to).

People use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer because Iexplore is terrible for spyware. My spyware and spam intake has been reduced by 99% since I switched.

Anyways, Its not Firefox that is causing the problem, Bungie.net is the only site that I have EVER experienced this problem. They could easily find the source of the *lag* and either remove it or tweak it so it will run under Firefox better.

I don't really mind. The scrolling is a little, laggy I guess you could describe it that way, but it's better than the tons of pop ups that I used to get(not a Bungie thing, a spyware thing).

As was already posted in this thread, no, we can't fix it. We tried once, but the workaround breaks Safari and even IE to some extent. So, make one browser faster, break another, and make IE experience crappy on our site, vs. making you having to wait until the Firefox team fixes their small bug that just happens to affect our site? I'd rather not exclude Firefox, but... even Marty could make that call without debating it. Of course, he'd just say "go use Safari." :)

I had this problem too. In avanced options select autoscrolling but not smooth scrolling, thats what fixed it for me (you might not have these options though, I use a lot of extenstions and I might have downloaded these options).

Those options are already in Firefox by default, but as far as I can tell, that doesn't really fix the problem. It certainly helps, but it's a bit irritating for me not to have smooth scrolling on. Just use IEView until Firefox has this bug fixed, it's a lot better than changing your default browser as the other person pointed out. Although I admit, they not so much pointed it out as they did over-complicate it.
