Let's see...Bungie forum, voting on 3 games, only 1 of which is made by Bungie...Can you say, "Biased to the max?"
I've been reading over these posts and I have to say...I agree with Scorponok. Having played the predecessors of all 3 of these games, and being the die-hard gamer that I am, I would have to say Half-Life 2 over both of these games. Sure, I loved Halo, and I believe Halo 2 will be a great game. I just believe that Half-Life 2 will be better.
You know how in most games you can play it over a few times and it's fun, but there's always this part where it's boring and you don't feel like spending the time to play it? Well, Half-Life for me had none of that, while Halo did. The Library...I felt like I was in the same corridor the entire time.
For the new games: I've seen trailers for all the games, and would have to say this: Half-Life 2 has better Graphics, better Physics, and from the stories on the originals...I'd have to say a better story. Sound I couldn't really say, because it's different depending on the card and speakers...Artificial intelligence I really have no clue on, both games seem to have great AI.
EDIT: About my view on copies being sold. I believe Halo 2 will sell more because of it's recent predecessor. Halo won game of the year in 2001, while Half-Life won game of the year in 1998. Let's not forget that Counter Strike is the most widely played multiplayer First Person Shooter on the market right now. Yet just because the youth of today actually REMEMBER Halo winning game of the year, and were a bit to young to remember Half-Life, it will sell more copies. Let's not even start on which is getting more media attention, that's probably the BIGGEST reason Halo 2 will sell more...
Doom 3 I have no comment on, I'll definitely buy it, as it seems like an enjoyable game. I just don't believe it will measure up to Half-Life 2 or Halo 2 however.
On one final note, you guys really need to stop flaming Scorponok. He had an opinion, he presented it. Just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean you need to take up space on the forums with senseless flaming. It's just, (Put simply) a waste of time to read, and to deal with.
Have a nice day,
Epiph
