Cronin's Law----The New Flood Drinking Game

Apparently durandal was right. It is possibble to escape the universe.
Looks like he was wrong about it collapsing though.
Interesting stuff no?

i love quantum phisics. even though i have to read a paragraph like 5 times to understand it.
it's gust cool. and it's like the middle ground between science and art.

Kind of. I like reading it, but I love when they say 'an advanced society'...
They'll never be able to do half that stuff, but it is really cool knowing that it is theoretically physically possibble.

the big freeze will have occured by the time humans are advanced enough to escape the universe.unless aleins come to earth and give us some technology that will make escaping possible.

That reminds me of an Asimov short story I read once. It was called "The Last Question," and the last question had to do with entropy. In the story, early in our history (before we left Earth) someone asked a highly advanced computer if there was any way to reverse entropy of the universe, but the computer has "insufficient data." The story goes on and mankind eventually spreads to the corners of the universe, but never gets an answer to the last question. The computers are left behind after human kind is extinct, still pondering the last question. They eventually figure it out, and entropy is reversed, making the computers "gods" in the sense that they recreated the universe.

Sounds a lot like our friend Durandal, eh?

Wow...that was a fascinating article, to say the least. I love stuff like this. I'm just glad that I don't have to learn all the stupid math behind it, and someone else who actually understands it and enjoys it does it for me.

This could make a really awesome sci-fi book.

Very interesting to say the least. Quantum Physics always gives me headaches though...Too many interesting possiblities to ever think about all in the same moment.

The problem is that we'll never be able to do half that stuff... a particle accelerator several light-years long? crazy.

Why would you want to escape? I sorta like this good ol' universe. It has remained intact for quite some time and I don't really want to get away from it.

I think I'm gonna put that on my list of things to write. I haven't bothered writing any of my ideas because it takes a serious amount of time and effort, which I don't have and don't want to exert right now. Maybe when I'm graduated from college or something...

Anyhow, so far I want to write
* A book about this crazy universe escape topic
* Another sci-fi book about a massive interplanetary war (even though it's been done zillions of times before)
* A military book about a special forces squad
* An "everyday life" sorta book...almost like a semi-biography.

But, just imagine civilization building a 10-light-year long particle accellerator gun....
I wish I was a concept artist. It could be the cover of the sci-fi novel.

I really love this sort of thing. I have to get a daily serving of science. I get a subscription to Popular Science. Anyone else know any good science mags?
