Hello.

Don't worry about it.

And Deus is right, but some people might use that as a way to show off, unfortunatly.

I was blacklisted three times (only one was for a reason, though, and that was for bumping a screenshot), so I'm not expecting Heroic status anytime soon. But while it would be nice to have, it doesn't really mean anything except a slightly higher social status.

A person could get Mythic by creating the account in 2001 and logging on every now and then to keep the account from being deleted--doesn't mean he's a good member.

I thought you got Mythic by setting up at Myth.Bungie.Net

Bullet Storm, I would highly suggest reading this.

From what I have gathered, blacklists have a negative infinity modifier on your trust rating during their duration, and they gradually ease up post-blacklist as time goes by. So it is possible that in time, if you keep being nice, you could potentially has Heroic. But don't worry about member titles. They don't matter. I know that it's cliche to say that, but it's also true.

EDIT - Yeah, read the link that Rokit posted. I was a little late.

Remember, trust is calculated daily, and the maximum value possible changes every day too. Since the titles are based on the percentage your trust value is compared to the maximum value, it can easily change if the max value goes up further than you go up in the intervening time, even if you haven't had any negative items against you.

In other words, no the system isn't buggy, stop asking why your title changed, I'm not going to tell you.

This is the truth. Now mythic status, on the other hand... (I'm joking. Mythic status is simply a blue bar)

Hello.

Its not a glitch. Members who joined Bungie.net members around the time Halo 3 came out should have a Heroic status unless they were banned.

I must disagree with this. I joined before it came out, have never been blacklisted, only warned once (a long while ago) and I am "only" a member.

Key word: Warned.

Remember, its about trust. Now, I don't know how it works, but this is just my observation. Warnings make a difference when it comes to trust.

Come check out the The Christian Halo Union. Whether you’re looking for fellowship, intelligent discussion, positive gamers, or maybe you just want to have fun, you'll find it with us. With over 650 members and counting, we're the most active Christian group on Bungie.net.

Don't worry about it too much, Bullet. Your rank doesn't define you; you define your rank. Just stick to the rules and amp up the optimism. Before to long, it'll return.

I agree with you, XIX, I got warned, if I recall correctly, before it came out. I was simply disagreeing that by just being here when it came uot, that that qualified you automatically for status bump. I'm not saying that's what the poster meant, I was clarifying it for those who don't know what's involved with the trust rating.

EDIT: Also, I should add, I have seen members lose and regain their status whithin a relatively short timeframe, in significantly less than a few months, which, from what I gather, puts me out of that timeframe. I cannot say for sure, however, as Bungie are the only ones who know that.

FURTHER EDIT: For my own integrity, I must acknowledge that I stated an inaccuracy in the timing of my warning. I save all my messages, and I found I was issued a warning on 11/5/07. My regrets for the mistake, but I still don't feel that that is holding me back from a status bump (and not that I am looking for one). It's probably due to my negligable amount of posts. Just a guess.

No! Eventually those blacklists will wear off but in a very long time! I was blacklisted as well! But I have regained my title and trust! Just watch what you say and do! If you have a question about something before you post, PM someone and make sure it's ok!

Titles don't matter, and yes I believe blacklistings have something to do with it. Don't worry if you play by the rules, sort to say, you will get it back. I for one have never had a Heroic Member status, and I'v been around here quite some time, its not everything.

I was blacklisted once, and from what I heard its what keeping me from any rank. For that reason, I believe theres more to the ranking system then we think. (I was never warned, only 1 blacklisting)

I was blacklisted for replying to spam way back in like my few eeeks, I don't think it affected me.

  • 03.21.2008 10:11 PM PDT

HATERS GONNA' HATE

The ranking system is quite simple.

You are effected by two variables:

1) How long you have been here

2) This variable goes up if you receive any recommendations by a moderator or Bungie employee, and goes down if you get banned or blacklisted.

When these variables combined reach a certain point, you go up a rank

You likely were on the tipping point of being a heroic member, got blacklisted and lost a rank.

I was blacklisted once. (For a totally unjust reason. I don't spam. Never. ...Never ever. >_> )
