In most I-net games that have boards, you get a post count. I realize its not the most important issue, but adding a couple of things to the boards like a search engine, and a post counter next to your name would be nice.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

The site used to have post counts but people thought having a bigger post count enlarged your e-peener so they were done away with

Ohh! I've been waiting three years for that!

* Post count?
Never.

I was thinking about this the other day; since we have no Post Counts you would have expected Join Date to be the replacement 'feel good' value; but I've never once recieved any respect because of my 2002 join. In fact, I've never recieved any respect at all!

Us 2002ies have to stick together. These kids these days dont remember what it was like back in the good ol days. hell we didn't even have 1,000 members when I joined. We now have over 48,000 members.

Bit of a difference.

Of course, we'd have to bow in utter submission to a 2001er. Bow like peasants...

Christ, was it only 1,000 members back then?! It seems like much more... I just noticed my clan's number was reduced from 3044 to 304 with the New Hotness. If only they'd changed it to 343, then we'd be cool.

If you click the link to my profile and see the url, it ends with memberID=983

Your is memberID=928

That's how you figure out what member number you are, but we would remember the nopassports unlike these 04'ers and 05'ers so technically, only 1000 of us stuck around. Many more made accounts and just never came back with the same account or left the column before the switch to .Net Passports. So there were more than 1000 but if they haven't logged on in like.... 2 years they obviously weren't that active

A post count would be nice, atleast for the groups. It would be easier to give promotions when you can see who has posted and who has not...

As far as I'm concerned post count and time here don't matter. Only intelligence does. So why does everyone care how long someone is here or want to know how many posts they have?

Time here is more helpful than post count. If you just joined and a guy who has been here for a day tells you one thing about the site but a guy who has been here for 2 years tells you another, I'd trust the guy who's been at the site for 2 years because you still are confused after a day. But I don't dislike people who joined this year and idolize people who joined in 01. Post count I guess could be cool if people didn't care so much about it. I'd rather it kept the way it is.

What I meant to say was 480,000 members but I'm wrong. It's over 633,000

That is a LOT

  • 01.24.2005 7:04 AM PDT

bah

They actually got rid of the counting. It's no longer in the html as it used to be. That means the only way to count your posts is to search through all 1.88 million posts on the site.

Good luck with that!

Ah, but Nate got the coveted id #7. Mind you, if you wanted it I'm sure you could just... edit the data.

Do you guys keep stats for Bungie.net membership over time? It'd be interesting to see how big an effect the major Halo milestones had upon membership.

Actually, I have an Alexa toolbar on my computer. It shows the ranking of a website based on popularity, for those of you who don't know. Anyway, there is a graph of activity on the site and it spikes around the 9th it is pretty funny.

Yeah, that stuff! That must have been four days before I joined. Of course, my old account was deleted, so now I'm wondering if the numbers at the end of the url for our accounts will ever change.

I use to be a 2002er, but I lost my name during the passport switch and this was my other one and I figured out how to switch this one over. I forgot to ever go back for the other one :(
